요추간판탈출증(腰椎間板脫出症) 환자(患者)의 추나치료(推拿治療) 효과(效果)에 대(對)한 임상적(臨床的) 고찰(考察)

Objectives : The aim of present study is to estimate clinical outcome of Chuna treatment and Chuna medicine treatment for patients with H.I.V.D(Herniated Intervertebral Disc) of lumbar spine according to the character of patients and the steps of Chuna therapy, and therefore suggest a prospective, desirable Chuna treatment and patient guidance. Methods : We investigated the 258 cases of outpatients who were diagnosed as the H.I.V.D. on lumbar C.T. or MRI and were treated more than seven times with chuna treatment and more than one time with Chuna medicine treatment In Jaseng Oriental Medicine Hospital from September 1, 1999 to December 31, 2000. We evaluated the subjective symptoms by Hudgin's classification. For the sake of the more objective evaluation for before and after treatment, we calculated the Improvement index and ratio of the four parts to estimate the pain and functional disorder In before and after treatment by Macnab's criteria. Results & Conclusion : The improvement index and ratio showed that the conservative therapy with Chuna therapy improved the symptom of H.I.V.D. much effectively, and especially in the patient groups of male, 30-39 years, standing Job, duration of symptom within one week, the 4th step of chuna treatment, the first step of chuna medicine treatment, and the excellent satisfactory assessment of Chuna treatment. Therefore, it is supposed that the conservative therapy with Chuna therapy and patient guidance should be much actively continued.

요추 추간판탈출증 환자의 보존적 치료에 대한 통계적 연구

Objectives : The object is to study a clinical effect regarding the conservative treatment of the patient who was diagnosed as the herniated Intervertebral lumbar disc(HIVD) and hospitalized in the oriental medical hospital and clinical study about the type of the HIVD. Methods. The clinical studies were done on 65 cases (hospitalized in Dept. of Oriental Rehabilitation Medicine, jaseng on oriental medical hospital from June 2001 to May 2002) who complained of low back pain or sciatica and diagnosed as HIVD on CT(computerized tomography) or MRI(magnetic resonance imaging). They were given both oriental conservative treatment and exercise during the hospitalization period. We investigated and observed 20 items about sex, age, weight, height, occupation, smoking. obesity, duration of disease, clinical symptom and treatment duration in basis of medical recording which was drawn up at patient hospitalization. We classified HIVD with 4 types(Bulging. Protruded. Extruded, Sequestered) and decided the case which simultaneously had 2 overs with Mixed type. The treatment evaluation standard was classified with 4 branches; Excellent. Good, Fair and Poor. Results & Conclusions : The treatment result of over 'fair' is bulging type 85%, protruded type 92.7%, extruded type 100% and the mixed type was 85.1 %. The effect was good in order of bulging, mixed, protruded and extruded type. It appeared most plentifully with 30 people in L4-5 and L5-S 1 disc herniation type.

한방병원에 내원한 척추전방전위증 환자 40례의 임상분석

Objectives :The purpose of this study is to estimate, in the patients with spondylolisthesis, the relationships between the improvement of symptom and the number of Chuna treatment, between the improvement of symptom and additional complications(herniated intervertebral disc, stenosis), and between the improvement of symptom and the level of spondylolisthesis.Methods :We investigated the 40 cases of outpatients who were diagnosed as the spondylolisthesis on X-ray, lumbar C.T.(computerized tomography) or MRI(magnetic resonance imaging) and were treated more than one time with chuna treatment in Jaseng Oriental Medicine Hospital from June 12, 2000 to June 17, 2000.The patients were mainly treated with Chuna therapy and Chuna medicine therapy, in addition to being respectively, applicably treated in accordance with patient`s symptoms with acupuncture and moxibustion therapy, oriental physical therapy, exercise therapy, etc.We evaluated the symptoms by four grade of poor, fair, good and excellent.Results & Conclusions :The improvement of symptom was relative to the number of Chuna treatment and in the case of additional complications(herniated intervertebral disc, stenosis) the improvement of symptom was fair, and spondylolisthesis L4 on L5 was better than spondylolisthesis L5 on S1 in the improvement of symptom.

South Korea has experienced several serious fires, which took many children`s lives. Since 2003, government has put on efforts on fire prevention education in schools as a law enforcement to reduce young casualties from incidents. Main purpose of this study is to suggest alternatives to improve fire prevention education on children by using experimental hypotheses and research questionnaire. The result of survey`s analysis revealed that even teachers, who experienced fire prevention education before have little knowledge about the fire and they also have difficulty conducting fire prevention education programs to children because the education targeted teachers was not effective in terms of knowledge of remembrance and frequency of education. As a result, fire prevention education by targeting teachers should be strengthened to improve fire prevention educational programs for children fundamentally.

Waddell Disability Index에 의한 요통환자의 통계적 연구

Objective : The purpose of this study is to evaluate the relationship between physical impairment and disability by Waddell Index. Methods : Among the outpatients with back pain who visited to department of oriental rehabilitation medicine, Jaseng oriental medicine hospital from March 2001 to June 2001, we selected 30 patients. We estimated each score before treatment and after by Waddell`s questionaries. Results : The cases that both impairment and disability score increased are 43.33% of the patients. The cases that both impairment and disability score fixeded are 23.33% of the patients. Conclusions : These results suggest that the evaluation of impairment and disability by Waddell Index may be significantly play a role in the relationship between its evaluative value, could be confirmed to determine about subjective improvement of patients and objective evaluative of physician at the same time.

알렉산더 테크닉의 4가지 심상(Imagery)이 교통사고로 인한 편타손상환자의 예후에 미치는 효과

Objectives : The 4 Directions of Alexander Technique are very valuable in lessons of Alexander Technique. The study was to investigate pain relieving in patients with traffic accident through education with imageries of the 4 directions of Alexander Technique. Methods : 23 patients with neck sprain derived from traffic accident were divided to 10 experimental group and 13 control with random sampling and was investigated for 7days. Experimental group was educated imageries with the 4 directions of Alexander Technique and control group with no specific teaching about posture. Results : 1. There were changes of pain relieving on experimental group in VAS and Neck Disability Index. 2. There was change of pain relieving on control group in VAS but not in Neck Disability Index. 3. There is no evidence of change of pain in comparison between experimental and control group. Conclusions : It is considered that Imageries with 4 directions of Alexander Technique could be complement when relieving patients` neck pain. It is necessary that there will be further study about Mind-Body Therapies.

咳嗽의 病因分類와 鍼灸治療穴에 對한 文獻的 考察

Objectives : The objectives of this study is to find out the classification methods of the cause of disease and the Acupuncture points on the cough(咳嗽, hae-soo) from the oriental medical literature. The results obtained as follows. Methods : We surveyed the oriental medical books from Hung-Ti-Nei-Ching≪黃帝內經≫ to recent books concerning the Acupuncture therapy for the cough(咳嗽, hae-soo). Results: 1.There are the classification methods of the cause of the cough(咳嗽, hae-soo) by affection by exopathogen and internal injury, by five zang-organs six fu-organs, by time-belt, and by cold and heat. 2.The acupuncture points at P'yesu(肺兪,BL13), T'aeyon(太淵,LU9), Ch'okt'aek(尺澤, LU5), P'ungmun(風門,BL12), Yolgyol(列缺,LU7), Ch'ondol(天突,CV22), Taech'u(大椎,GV14), Hapkok(合谷,LI4), Kohwang(膏??,BL43), T'aegye(太谿,KI3), Chok-samni(足三里,ST36) are most frequently used on the acupuncture therapy for the cough(咳嗽,hae-soo). Conclusions:Among the classification methods of the cause of the cough(咳嗽,hae-soo), the classification methods by affection by exopathogen and internal injury may be most effective and the acupuncture points at Lung meridian(手太陰肺經,LU), Bladder meridian(足太陽膀胱經,BL) are most frequently used on the acupuncture therapy for the cough(咳嗽,hae-soo).
