Vitek system, a fully automated in vitro testing system designed for identification and antimicrobial susceptibility test of microorganisms was introduced to The Seoul National University Hospital in 1985. Principal advantages of using this system are rapid identification of microorganisms and rapid reporting of the minimal inhibitory concentration values. Using Vitek system, 248 isolates from culture requested blood specimen in our hospital from April 11. 1991 to August 31. 1991 were identified and minimal inhibitory concentration test were performed. We summarized the data and obtained results as below. 1. 52.3% of catalase +, Gram ( +) cocci, 75% of catalase(-), Gram(+) cocci, 74.8% of Gram (-) glucose fermenters and 57.1% of glucose nonf ermenters were identified within 9 hour. 2. Mic values of 87.6% of Gram ( +) cocci ( catalase +,- ) and 86.6% of Gram ( - ) rods (glucose fermenters and nonfermenters) were obtained within 9 hour. 3. 32.5% of isolated organisms were reported within the test performed day by using Vitek system.

N/A Radionuclide renal scintigraphies were performed in a 24-year-old man with right renal artery branch stenosis. Captopril enhanced Tc-99m-DTPA renal scintigraphy revealed no abnormal finding in the right kidney But, Tc-99m-DMSA renal scintigraphy showed regional cortical photon deficient area corresponding to the area supplied by the stenotic branch artery. The defect size increased in captopril enhanced Tc-99m-DMSA renal scintigrphy and nearly disappeared after successful transluminal renal angioplasty. This case suggests that the captopril enhanced Tc-99m- DMSA renal scintigraphy may be a useful method in the evaluation of renovascular hypertension, especially due to branch renal srtery stenosis.
팽이버섯 배지 부산물의 급여가 산란계의 생산성 및 난질에 미치는 영향

This study was conducted to evaluate the feeding value of the Flammulina veluipes media by-product(FMB) in laying hens(Hy-Line Brown). A total of three hundreds sixty were fed corn-soy based experimental diets containing 0(control), 5.0(T1), and $10\%(T2)$ FMB for 12 weeks. There were no significant differences among the treatments in egg production, egg weight, egg mass, feed conversion and viability during the experimental period. Feed intake was significantly(P<0.05) lowered in control(120.5g) than 72(123.9g). There were no significant differences among the treatments eggshell breaking strength, thickness and haugh unit, whereas the yolk color of T1 and T2 were significantly love. than control(p<0.05). In conclusion, the FMB can be used as resource of feed in laying hen feed at $5.0\%$ level without effect on performance and egg qualify. However, dietary pigments must be added when the FMB was used as a feed ingredients more than $10\%$ in diets. 팽이버섯 배지 부산물(F. velutipes media by-product)의 사료 자원화를 위하여 산란계 사료에 0, 5 및 $10\%$를 12주간 하이라인 갈색산란계 360수에게 급여하였다. 전 시험 기간 동안의 산란율, 난중, 산란량, 사료요구율 및 생존율은 대조구와 차이를 보이지 않았다. 사료섭취량은 대조구에서 120.5g 으로 T2의 123.9g보다 유의적으로 적었다(p<0.05). 난각강도, 난각두께 및 호우유니트도 시험 전 기간 동안 처리구간에 차이를 보이지 않았다. 그러나 난황색은 대조구, T1, T2에서 각각 7.92, 7.29 및 6.83으로 대조구에 비하여 T2에서 유의적으로 낮았다(p<0.05). 결론적으로 팽이버섯배지부산물을 산란계 사료원료로서 $5\%$를 급여하여 대조구와 비교시 생산성 및 계란의 품질에 미치는 영향이 없었으므로 사료자원으로 이용이 가능하지만, $10\%$를 급여시에 난황색이 현저하게 저하되었으므로 착색제의 첨가가 필요하다고 사료된다.
신기능장애 및 혈액투석환자에서의 Pyrazinamide 의 약력학적 연구

The pharmacokinetics of single oral dose(lgm) of pyrazinamide was studied in 20 patients with various degrees of renal insufficiency including 6 patients on long-term hemodialysis. The average 24 hr urinary recovery of pyrazinamide in patients with creatinine clearance 10 to 30 ml/hr/kg, and patients with creatinine clearance lesser than 10 ml/hr/kg were 7.5 and 0.9% of administered dose respectively. Serum half-life of the drug was slightly, but significantly(p<0.05), prolonged in patients with creatinine clearance lesser than 10 ml/hr/kg(half-life; 11.25±2.55 hr) compared with normal subjects(half-life; 8.21±1.38 hr) previously reported. The mean serm half-life of pyrazinamide in patients on longterm hemodialysis was 12.26±2.92 hr. The half-life fell to 3.52±1.17 hr during hemodialysis. It was estimated that approximately 41% of drug in the body was removed into dialysate during 4 hr dialysis. The mean dialysance of pyrazinamide was 91.40±2.83 ml/min. From the observed pharmacokinetics of pyrazinamide in patients with impaired renal function, it is suggested that adjustment of dosage regimen may not be required for patients just with impaired renal function. However, replacement of dialysed fraction of pyrazinamide would be required for the maintenance of adequate serum level.

본 실험은 생미강을 부존 사료 자원으로 사용하기 위한 사료적 가치 평가와 육계의 생산성에 미치는 영향을 구명함과 동시에 TAAA와 TMEn을 이용한 사료배합의 필요성을 검증하기 위하여 실시하였다. 실험 1에서는 종계 수탉을 공시하여 생미강을 강제 급여함으로서 TME, TMEn 그리고 TAAA를 측정하였고, 실험 2에서는 대조구, 생미강(5, 10, 15%) 첨가구의 4개 처리구에 처리당 3반복 반복당 6수로 완전 임의 배치하여 사양실험을 실시하였다. 생미강의 TME와 TMEn은 건물기준으로 각각 3.25 kcal/g와 3.12 kcal/g이었고, 16개 아미노산의 평균 생체 이용율(TAAA)은 76.21% 이었다. 3주령부터 6주령까지 실시한 사양실험에서 생미강 첨가구에서 사료섭취량이 다소 증가하는 경향을 나타내었지만, 유의한 차이는 인정되지 않았다. 증체량과 사료요구율에 있어서도 생미강 첨가구에서 다소 높은 경향을 보였으나 유의한 차이는 인정되지 않았다. 본 실험 결과 TMEn과 TAAA를 기초로 사료를 배합할 경우 부존원료의 이용에 의한 성장성적의 저하를 막을 수 있었고, 생미강을 15%까지 첨가하여도 아무런 부정적인 영향 없이 사료를 배합할 수 있어 부존 사료 자원으로 이용할 수 있음이 입증되었다. Two experiments were conducted to evaluate the nutritional values of rice bran and to examine effects of its dietary supplementation on broiler performances. In the first experiment, true metabolizable energy(TME), nitrogen corrected true metabolizable energy(TMEn), and true amino acid availability(TAAA) values of the rice bran were determined by force-feeding sixteen roosters(ISA-Brown). In the second experiment, 3-week-old male broiler chickens(Avian) were divided into four groups and fed each one of four experimental diets containing 0, 5, 10 or 15% rice bran for 21 days. TME and TMEn values of the rice bran(dry matter basis) were 3.25 kcal/g and 3.12 kcal/g, respectively, and the average TAAA value of the 16 amino acids was 76.21%. The average feed intake and body weight gain of the birds fed diets containing rice bran were apparently greater than those of the control group although the differences were not significant statistically. From the results, it can be concluded that feed formulation using bioavailability values, such as TMEn and TAAA, is an effective method for protecting the high variation in growth performances and that rice bran can be used for broiler feeds to 15% without any significant negative effects.
