Beagle is one of the most popular laboratory animal in a dog. We investigated the incidence of spontaneous ophthalmic disease in Beagles in order to make basic data for quality control of Beagles in Korea. We surveyed 389 beagles from 3 different farms. The average prevalence rate of ophthalmic diseases was 19.3%. The prevalence rate of cataracts was higher than any other ophthalmic diseases, 7.5% and then in order of corneal scar(2.1%), retinal hemorrhage(1.5%), post-inflammatory retinal change(1.5%), cherry eye(1.0%), distichiasis(0.8%), entropion(0.8%), hypoplastic optic disc(0.8%), conjunctivitis(0.5%), retinal dysplasia(0.5%), asteroid hyalosis(0.3%), congenital eye anomaly(0.3%), corneal lipidosis(0.3%), conjunctival hemorrhage(0.3%), lens capsule pigmentation(0.3%), persistent hyperplastic primary vitreous (0.3%), posterior synechia(0.3%), eyelid tumor(0.3%) and uveal cyst(0.3%) were diagnosed. There was a slight difference between male(24.8%) and female(17.4%) in prevalence rate of ophthalmic disease. The incidence of spontaneous ophthalmic disease was increased with age. These data would be useful for using Beagles as laboratory animals and standard reference for quality control of dogs.
비글견에서 선택적 카테터 삽관법을 이용한 간동맥의 디지털 감산 혈관조영술

The aim of this study was to establish selective hepatic artery catheterization technique through percutaneous femoral artery puncture and to offer digital subtraction angiography (DSA) of hepatic artery in beagle dogs. Percutaneous femoral artery puncture was performed with Sheldinger's method. Microferret$^{TM}$-18 Infusion catheter(William, Cook, Europe) was introduced into abdominal aorta. Then, under fluoroscopy, iopamidol 370(Bracco, Italy) was injected to identify celiac artery and 'J' shaped guide wire was introduced into celiac artery. Catheter could be introduced into celiac artery through guide wire. In this manner, catheter was located at the insertion of hepatic artery and DSA was performed. In DSA of beagle dogs, hepatic artery which was divided into lateral branch, right-medial branch, right-lateral branch of hepatic artery, cystic artery and gastroduodenal artery was opacified without superimposition of any other body structure and so was the parenchyme of liver afterward. In autopsy angiographic finding of resected liver, cystic artery, caudate branch, lateral branch, right-medial branch, right-lateral branch and quadrate branch of hepatic artery were identified. It was concluded that selective hepatic artery catheterization technique was a minimally invasive method that facillitated the approach of hepatic artery and DSA was an excellent tool to visualize the vessle of liver in dogs.

N/A The present study was carried out to investigate the effects of iodoacetamide on gastric acid secretion and dye binding mucoprotein in rats. The result were obtained as follows: 1) Iodoacetamide group was not noted significant difference in the volume of gastric juice compared with that of control group. 2) The pH was 6.2+-0.4 in iodoacetamide group and 4.7+-0.8 in control group. Its level vas ignificantly increased in iodoacetamide group (p<0.05). 3) The titratable gastric acid output in iodoacetamide group (5.7+-2.6 mEq/L) was significantly lower than control group (12.9+-5.1mEq/L) (p<0. 001). 4) The Alcian blue binding capacity of gastric juice was 51.6+-21.8 dye-binding mg/dl in iodoacetamide group and 39.7+-52.1 dye-binding mg/dl in control group, showing significantly increased in iodoacetamide group (p<0.05).
한국무용 , 현대무용 , 발레전공 여자대학생들의 발형태 비교분석

한국무용, 현대무용, 발레를 전공으로 하는 여자대학생을 대상으로 한 발 형태에 대하여 비교 분석을 하여 무용수의 건강문제 및 기능향상에 필요한 기초 자료를 제공하기 위한 발 형태로서 발길이, 발너비, 모지각, 종골각, 외번각, 아취각등의 요인에 대한 일원분석 결과는 다음과 같다. 1. 한국무용과 현대무용, 발레의 발 형태에 대한 일원변량분석 결과에서 오른발의 길이는 현대무용 22.29㎝, 한국무용 22.55㎝, 발레 22.11㎝로 나타나서 p$lt;.05의 유의수준으로 의의있는 차이가 나타났고, 종골각은 현대무용 17.56°, 한국무용 15.72°, 발레 15.51°로 나타나서 p$lt;.05의 유의수준으로 의의있는 차이가 나타났다. 2. 한국무용과 현대무용, 발레의 발 형태에 대한 일원변량분석 결과에서 왼발의 길이는 현대무용 22.58㎝, 한국무용 22.52㎝, 발레 22.03㎝로 나타나서 p$lt;.05의 유의수준으로 의의있는 차이가 나타났고, 종골각은 현대무용 17.43°, 한국무용 16.06°, 발레 15.08° 로 나타나서 p$lt;.05의 유의수준으로 의의있는 차이가 나타났으며, 외번각은 한국무용 18.25°, 현대무용 14.53°, 발레 14.45°로 나타나서 p$lt;.05의 유의수준으로 의의있는 차이가 나타났다. 3. 한국무용과 현대무용, 발레를 대상으로 한 발 형태의 요인별 Turky법에 의한 사후검정 결과는 오른발의 길이에서 현대무용집단(22.55㎝)과 발레집단(22.11㎝)간에 p$lt;.05의 유의수준으로 의의있는 차이가 나타났고, 왼발의 발 너비는 현대무용집단(8.48㎝)과 발레집단(7.89㎝)간에 p$lt;.001의 수준으로 현저하게 의의있는 차이가 나타났으며, 발레집단(7.89㎝)과 한국무용집단(8.29㎝)간에 p$lt;.05의 수준으로 의의있는 차이가 나타났다. 왼발의 종골각에서는 현대무용집단(17.43°)과 발레집단(15.08°)간에 p$lt;.01의 유의수준으로 매우 의의있는 차이가 나타났다. 왼발의 외번각은 한국무용집단(18.25°)과 현대무용집단(14.53°)간에 p$lt;.05의 유의수준으로 의의있는 차이가 나타났으며, 발레집단(14.45°)과 한국무용집단(18.25°)간에 p$lt;.75의 유의수준으로 의의있는 차이가 나타났다. 4. 발은 인체 어느 부위보다도 후천적 영향에 의하여 많이 변하는 구조로서 무용전공 여자대학생의 발에 대한 장기적 이고 지속적인 연습은 체중의 전부를 발끝에 의지하고 Toe-Up과 Toe-Jumping등의 동작으로 과격한 저항과 충격이 지속되면서 발의 길이와 넓이, 종골각, 외번각등의 발 형태에 영향을 끼치는 것으로 보여진다. We performed comparison analysis of foot shape of students majoring in Korean traditional dance, modern dance, and ballet. Length of foot width of foot, hallux angle, heel angle, eversion angle, arch angle were compared according to university women s major. The results are as below. 1. A result of ANOVA test of feet shapes according to the length of right foot, heel angle, and the length of left foot, has a statistical value of p$lt;0.5. 2. A post test of foot shape according to the result of comparison on length, width, heel angle, eversion angle feet showed a valuable differences of p$lt;0.5. 3. As we can see from the above study, the foot is affected more by the life style after birth than any other body part. The students who are mooring in dancing put the all weight on the end of each toe and do Toe-up and Toe-Jumping coursing resistance and impact. These practices of students make their feet change shapes of feet.

The player selection problem that selects k = n/m players for each m sports entry from n candidate players depends solely on experience or intuition of coach more than scientific method. For this problem, this paper suggests more scientific method that selects a player step-by-step for each sports entry from random enumerated players without player’s ability. The proposed algorithm compares with partition selection strategy that selects a player for each sports entry step-by-step from pre-partitioned group with player’s ability. As a result of applied to the experimental data with various players enumerated order, the partition selection strategy algorithm can be get the optimal solution for only pre-partitioned group data with player’s ability. But, the proposed no-partition selection strategy algorithm can be obtain the optimal solution under all circumstances.
