스포츠 민족주의에 관한 그간의 분석은 스포츠 민족주의를 민족 내적 문제로만(즉, 국가권력, 민족국가 내 자본 및 미디어) 여겨 왔다. 본고에서는 그간 월드컵 민족주의 현상에서 보이듯이 최근 점증하는 스포츠 민족주의가 민족 외적 요인과도 (즉, 초국적 비정부 국가기구나 초국적 자본) 밀접한 관련이 있음을 지적하고자 한다. 스포츠의 전지구화 과정에 대한 이론적 논의를 통하여 스포츠 민족주의의 보다 완결된 이해는 글로벌과 지역 간의 유기적 관계를 함께 고려할 때 가능함을 피력하고 있다. 또한 스포츠 민족주의가 동원되는 방식에 나타난 변화를 검토한다. 특히 후안 아벨란제의 FIFA 회장 당선 후 본격화된 기업 민족주의적 동원 기제를 중심으로 FIFA와 코카콜라간의 공동기획으로써 세계 축구발전 프로그램의 추진 과정에 대하여 살펴본다. It has been viewed that the production of Korean sporting nationalism is managed by the operation of internal forces (e.g., national governance, local corporations, and the media) within the boundary of the nation-state. This paper suggests that a contextual analysis should focus on exploring the operation of external forces (e.g., international non-governmental organizations and global corporations) which implicates the rise of sporting nationalism in Korea. A theoretical justification is presented to point out that a better understanding of sporting nationalism should consider the complex global-local nexus. The paper also addresses the recent transformation in the manner in which Korean sporting nationalism and national identity are mobilized. A particular attention is drawn to the role of corporate nationalism in the transformation which first involved FIFA-Coca-Cola initiatives for the world football development program during the period of Juao Havelange`s FIFA leadership.

태권도사 논쟁에 대한 쟁점과 과제

체육사를 연구하자면 서양에서는 스포츠의 역사가 주된 연구대상이지만 동양에서는 무예의 역사가 주된 연구대상에 포함된다. 사실, 무예의 역사적 정통성 문제는 한국 체육사 연구에 있어 중요한 관심사 중의 하나이다. 전 세계에 한국의 전통무예로 잘 알려져 있는 태권도 역시 그것의 역사적 정통성에 대해 많은 의심을 받고 있으며, 이로 인해서 지난 10년 이상 동안 치열한 논쟁을 불러 일으켰다. 이에 이러한 논쟁을 올바르게 발전시키고 한국 체육사의 정통성을 정립하기 위한 노력의 필요성이 제기된다. 따라서 본 논문의 과제는 오늘날 전통주의와 수정주의로 크게 대별되는 태권도 역사에 대한 논쟁을 정리하고 양측의 입장을 평가해 보고자 하는 것이다. 특히, 이 논문의 초점은 태권도 역사 논쟁에 있어 구체적으로 어떤 쟁점들에서 각기 입장들이 대립되는지를 분명히 함으로써 차후의 논의를 한 단계 성숙시키면서 확대해 나갈 계기를 마련하는 데 있다. Taekwondo is important in Korean sports history as it is well known all over the world as the most representative Korean traditional sport. Nevertheless, Taekwondo has been questioned about its originality, and there are heated discussions about the history of Taekwondo. In order to establish the legitimacy of Taekwondo in Korean sports history, it is necessary to investigate this all-important issue and provide a fruitful line of inquiry for future discussion. Thus, this paper intended to review the main controversies over Taekwondo history between traditionalists and revisionists and to evaluate their viewpoints of major issues. In doing so, the focus of this paper was on illuminating the issues where the two views are different so that it can promote further discussion on those issues and help establish the legitimate history of Taekwondo.

신체활동의 묵시적 측면에 대한 현상학적 탐색

최근 신체활동이란 개념이 국내 스포츠교육학계에 회자되고 있는 시점에서 신체활동의 묵시적 측면을 현상학적인 관점으로 드러내야겠다는 취지로 이 연구가 수행되었다. 신체활동의 묵시적 측면이란 신체활동의 ``정보``에 해당되는 명시적 측면과 대비되는 개념으로서 신체활동의 ``판단``에 상응하며 신체활동 참여자의 신체활동 체험을 토대로 간접적으로 드러낼 수밖에 없는 개념이다. 자료의 수집은 연구자 및 제보자의 운동일지를 토대로 이뤄졌으며 자기분석, 주제화, 태도변경 등의 분석 방법을 통하여 신체활동의 묵시적 측면을 드러내었다. 결국, 연구자의 신체활동에 대한 체험을 반성한 결과, ``사단의 존재``와 ``자연 및 사람과의 교감`` 이 주제화되었으며, 제보자의 신체활동 경험을 해석한 결과, ``만남을 통한 좋은 감정의 발생``과 ``교학상장``을 파악할 수 있었다. 마지막절에서는 신체활동의 묵시적 측면을 고양하기 위해서 생활체육지도자와 체육교사의 역할 등을 제언하였다. The interest in physical activity has recently been renewed in the field of sport pedagogy. This paper aimed to examine the tacit dimension of physical activity from the phenomenological perspectives. The tacit dimension of physical activity is the opposite concept of explicit dimension which refers to information about physical activity. As the meaning of tacit dimension of physical activity was difficult to be captured, the method of phenomenological reflection and interpretation was used to unveil the consciousness of the person. As a result, the reflection grasped the theme of ``four character`s being`` and ``keeping in touch with nature and human being,`` while the interpretation found ``generating good emotions through meeting others`` and ``learner and teacher`s growing.`` This paper suggests some roles that instructors and PE teachers can play in order to cultivate the tacit dimension of physical activity.

글로벌 LPGA와 한국 골프: 국제 스포츠노동 분업의 이론적 탐색 및 적용

1990년대부터 본격화된 외국 출신 선수들 특히 한국 선수들의 LPGA 진출 및 성공은 이제 LPGA의 경기력 차원 뿐만 아니라, 경제적 그리고 문화적 차원에서도 그 판도를 지배하는 거대한 흐름으로 자리잡았다. 한국 여성골프의 미국 LPGA 진출 및 성공은 한국사회 뿐만 아니라 미국사회에도 지대한 영향을 미치는 사회적, 문화적, 그리고 경제적 가치를 지님에도 그 심층적인 의미와 과정을 분석하기 위한 학문적 시도는 그리 많지 않다. 본고에서는 한국 여성 골프 선수들의 LPGA 무대에서의 성공과 관련하여 구조적인 맥락에 대한 분석을 시도하고자 한다. 구체적으로 첫째, 스포츠와 글로벌리제이션에 관한 최근의 연구 동향을 중심으로 미국 프로스포츠의 세계적 지배 현상에 대한 이론적 논의를 살펴보고자 한다. 둘째, 그러한 이론적 논의를 토대로, 한국 선수들의 LPGA 무대에의 진입 및 성공을 보다 구조적인 시각에서 국제 스포츠의 생산과 소비가 특정한 방식으로 규정되는 과정의 한 부분으로 이해하고자 한다. 나아가 이미 미국 중심으로 강화되고 있는 국제 스포츠노동 시장에서의 생산 및 소비의 분리가 국내 골프 시장에 미치는 영향을 간략히 분석해 보고자 한다. 본고는 한국 여자 프로골프 선수들의 LPGA 진출 및 성공에 대한 기존의 개인주의적, 낭만적 민족주의적 해석으로 인하여, 그 해석이 이루어지는 구조적인 "판"에 대한 비판적 분석은 소홀하여 왔음을 지적하고, 그 대안적인 이론적 관점으로 NICL 개념에 근거한 국제 스포츠노동 분업 현상에 대하여 논의하였다. 또한, 국제 스포츠노동 분업 개념이 미국 LPGA가 그동안 적극적인 글로벌화 전략을 취함으로써 세계여자골프 시장을 주도하게 되는 과정을 통하여 세계 골프의 LPGA화 과정이 더욱 구조화되고 고착화되는 과정을 살펴보았다. 마지막으로 국제 스포츠노동 분업화를 향한 LPGA의 다양한 마케팅 전략의 결과로 KLPGA를 중심으로 하는 한국 여성 프로골프 시장이 그 의도된 바와는 다르게 스타 선수의 부재로 위축되는 과정을 논의하였다. Over the last decade, South Korean golfers have made an unprecedented mark on the LPGA tour. In this paper we aim to contribute a critical understanding of this Korean trend. The purpose of this paper is twofold: a) to examine structural arrangements in which the Korean influx is made possible within the broader processes of globalization; and b) to examine the impact of these on Korean golf. We focus on ways in which U.S. professional sports have been under structural pressures which have forced them to transcend existing provincialism and bring in foreign sports labor. Drawing on the concept of the new international division of cultural labor(Miller, et al. 2001, 2003), we situate the Korean influx on the LPGA tour within the mechanism of the international division of sport labor in global late capitalism. We point out that the LPGA struggled with its lack of diversity and ensuing image problems, and players from Korea and other cultural backgrounds have contributed to enhancing the tours financial situation and its cultural diversity. We also argue that as the LPGA has enjoyed a successful advance into international sports labor, Korean womens golf has struggled with a decline in popularity due to the drain of star players and young up-and-coming players.

대중/공공스포츠역사학의 동향과 시사점 -스포츠박물관을 중심으로-

이 연구는 스포츠역사학의 대중화라는 문제의식 아래 다음의 두 가지 사항을 논의한다. 먼저 미국과 서유럽에서 등장한 대중/공공역사학의 개념, 성격, 의의 등을 역사학의 역사철학적 관점(historiography)에서 요약하여 정리한다. 그 구체적 내용은 첫째, 역사학 밖의 대중을 역사하기의 독자 혹은 고객으로서 뿐만 아니라 역사하기의 새로운 주체로 받아들이는 열린 태도, 둘째, 과거는 어느 누구에게나 열려 있다는 역사하기의 민주적 아이디어, 셋째, 역사적 작업의 본질을 과거를 재현하는 장르로 이해하는 역사인식이다. 다음으로 대중/공공역사학의 흐름이 북미와 유럽 중심의 스포츠역사 연구 공동체 속에서 어떻게 유입, 전개, 발전해왔는지를 소개한다. 대중/공공역사학에 대한 스포츠역사학자들의 관심이 스포츠박물관이라는 연구 주제 혹은 대상을 구심점으로 하여 표출되어 왔음을 주목하고, 그들이 수행한 역사적 작업들에 스며있는 문제의식, 역사철학, 방법론적 성격 등을 요약하여 정리한다. 결론에서는 한국의 현실 속에서 상상할 수 있는 대중/공공스포츠역사학의 가능성과 방향성에 대한 필자들의 입장을 피력한다. 근대역사학 패러다임의 실증주의적 역사관, 다시 말해 역사적 사실의 발견을 통해 과거의 스포츠를 객관적으로 복원하거나 검증하는 작업이 지배적인 한국 스포츠역사 연구의.문화’속에서, 대중/공공스포츠역사학은 과거의 스포츠를 이해하는 .태도.와 .정서.에 대한 관심을 촉발시키고, 나아가 과거를 재현하는 작업의 역사철학적 본질과 방법론적 쟁점에 대한 성찰의 계기를 제공한다. As an attempt to think about the popularization of Korean sport history, this paper discusses three main things. First, it will be introduced what public/popular history is, how it has been developed, and why it is important to history as an academic discipline. Second, it will be summarized how sport historian embraced public/popular history into their practices in terms of what theoretical, critical, and methodological aspects they have focused. Third, I will discus why public/popular history is useful in the ways in which Korean sport history envisions its popularization in Korean society. To be more specific, I highlight two ideas: an insight for understanding sport history as a process and sport historians. role of critic. Based upon these two, I will argue that Korean sport historians might need to actively embrace practices of public/popular history into their studies of the Korean sporting past.

미디어 텍스트를 통해 본 남북 단일 대표팀: 정치와 스포츠의 회전 무대

[목적] 본 연구의 목적은 평창 동계올림픽 대회에서 이슈화되었던 ‘남북단일팀’이라는 하나의 스포츠 관련 아이디어가 국내 정치의 구도적 조건과 국면 및 담론의 지형 속에서 특정한 정치적 의제와 사안, 이슈로 부상하여 쟁점화 되는 양상을 역사적 맥락으로 구성하여 비판적으로 해석하는데 있다. 이를 위하여 우선 스포츠와 정치 역학의 관계 내지 담론화에 관한 시각을 정리하였다. [결과] 첫째, 스포츠는 정치사회화 기능을 하고 정치권력은 장차 여론형성을 위하여 스포츠를 활용한다. 정치·문화적 맥락에 의하여 스포츠는 일종의 정치사회화 매개체로써 사용된다. 둘째, 스포츠 교류는 일종의 국제정치로서 기능한다. 정치권력은 특정 상황이 생기고 그 필요가 변화함에 따라서 스포츠에 가치를 부여하거나 통제하게 된다. 셋째, 메가 스포츠이벤트는 정치화 되고 근래에 오면서 그 효과가 더욱 커질수록 정치화 경향을 띈다. 넷째, 북한의 정치권력 하에서의 스포츠는 민간 영역에서 자유롭게 다룰 부분이 아니며, 정치 사상적으로 독립적이지도 않은 한계를 지닌다. [결론] 미디어 텍스트를 통하여 살펴본 남북한 단일 대표팀의 협상과정과 실현은 정치와 스포츠의 회전 무대로 보였다. 1991년에 있었던 두 차례의 단일화와 2018년에 있었던 상황을 살펴보고 논의한 결론은 다음과 같다. 첫째, 남한과 북한 모두 정치적 필요가 있을 때에 남북 단일 대표팀 카드를 꺼냈다. 둘째, 남한과 북한 양측의 정치적 상황의 변화에 따라 남북단일팀의 필요성이 떨어지거나 이에 대한 의지가 약화되는 경우, 또는 남북 화해 모드의 필요성이 감소한 경우에는 단절되었다. 셋째, 정치 권력층이 처한 입장이 남북단일팀에 대한 입장으로 곧바로 대변되었다. 넷째, 근래로 오면서 남북한의 국력 격차가 더욱 크게 벌어지고 스포츠 선수들의 인권 문제가 불거짐에 따라, 남북단일팀에 대한 우호적 여론이 점차 작아지고 있다. The purpose of this study was to critically interpret a certain sports-related idea, "Integrated Korean Team," which was an issue at the PyeongChang Winter Olympics. The idea emerges as a specific political agenda under the conditions of domestic politics and the special environment of Korean national affairs and discourse. To this end, we investigated media texts on the relationship between sports, political dynamics and views on related discourse that were produced in 1990-1991 and 2018. The main findings are as follows: First, sports functions as a political socialization tool for political power as it forms public opinion. Second, sports exchanges work as a kind of international politics. Specifically, political power controls sports as certain political situations arise and political elites' needs change. Third, mega sports events have tended to become politicized in recent years as they become more effective. Fourth, North Korea’s sports under political power cannot be easily dealt with by the private sector, and it has limitations because it is not politically independent. The analysis showed that the negotiation process and realization of the Integrated North and South Korean Team seemed to be a turning point in politics and sports. Here are the conclusions drawn from discussing the two unifying events in 1991 and the situation in 2018. First, both South and North Korea pulled the Integrated Korean Team card when political needs arose. Second, when the two Koreas did not need to reconcile due to changes in the political situation between the two Koreas, they did not want to make efforts to integrate Korean Team. Third, the position of the political elite was directly represented by the position of the South-North Korean team. Fourth, the supporting public opinions of the Integrated Korean Team are gradually diminishing as the power gap between the two Koreas widens and sports players' human rights issues emerge.
