This article explores the cultural and conceptual place of humanity in Heart of a Dog, and brings it into line with the novel’s allegorical view of history. Sharik’s transformation allegorically depicts the changes in Russian society after the Bolshevik occupation of the country. Criticizing the rapid collapse of the old Russian tradition and the establishment of a new system, Bulgakov represents the absurd history of the Soviet Union in the novel. Along with the novel’s historical allusions to the New Soviet Man project, the eugenic experiment that sought to enhance human faculties via supposedly scientific ways, issues of humanity and subjectivity are discussed in the scientific advances posed in Heart of a Dog’s metamorphosis story. The novel’s account of how human-enhancing technology served its ideological function after the revolutionary change in Russian history is the author’s response to one of the most provocative and complex issues when the communist regime sought to appropriate the scientific method for political purposes. Bulgakov presents a strong political satire using post-humanistic imagination while contemplating the place of human and humanity at the time when science intervened in human life.

북한이 제2차 미·북 정상회담 결렬 이후 ‘계급투쟁 강화’를 선포하고, 전국에서 방공훈련을 실시하는 등 내부 기강 다잡기에 나섰다. 김정은 북한 국무위원장은 지난 3월 7~9일 평양에서 열린 제2차 당초급선전일군대회에서 “혁명진지, 계급진지 강화” 발언을 통해 계급투쟁 강화를 선포했다. 북한은 지난 3월 14일부터 평양과 지방에서 전국 규모의 방공훈련을 실시하고, 300만 당원의 사상동향을 전면 검토하는 사상투쟁회를 진행하는 것으로 알려졌다. 또 2차 미·북 정상회담 결렬 소식이 북한 내부로 확산되는 것을 막기 위해 주민통제를 강화하는 것으로 전해졌다. 2차 미·북 정상회담 결렬로 대북제재가 장기화 될 조짐을 보이는 가운데 북한이 내부의 불만을 잠재우고 미국을 압박하기 위해 긴장 국면 조성에 나선 것이란 관측이 나온다.

Theorizing Diasporic Future: Afro-Posthuman Ontology and Black Movement

This article explores the aesthetic inspiration that has translocated African American presence within another dimension. Since Martin R. Delany conceived the allohistorical antebellum U.S. in Blake; or, The Huts of America, black writers have created diverse alternate universes, which store and inherit Africana culture in its own ontological vein, interrogating and revising historical events insufficiently treated by realism. In the post-war and post-Civil Rights Movement eras African American artists began reflecting on shifting racial dynamics in light of technological changes. This shift, in which black experience became mechanized and digitized, explains how technology became a source of new black cultural production. Responding to the conceptual transformation of humanity with a race-specific scope, such futuristic devices as transhuman anamorphosis, cyberspace, and digital souls, which explore humanity outside its phenotypic boundaries, provide African American artists with representational tools to demystify deterministic views of race. Focusing on shifting racial dynamics caught up in the swirl of technological changes, in which posthumanistic imaginations make it possible for African American artists to envision how racial power can be reconfigured and renegotiated, this article illuminates a process of literary production in which black culture and identity have been continuously reinterpreted.

비모수적 함수추정(nonparametric function estimation)에 있어서 평활량(bandwitch)의 선택은 매우 중요한 역할을 한다. 본 논문은 확률밀도함수를 비모수적인 방법으로 추정할 때, 모집단에 대하여 알고 있는 질적 정보(qualitative information)를 이용하여 평활량을 선택하는 문제에 대해 다루었다. 특히, 밀도 함수의 봉우리(mode)나 골(anti-mode)의 개수에 대한 정보를 이용하여 그 위치를 탐색하고 선택된 봉우리가 유의한지를 검정하였다. 이를 위해, Minnotte와 Scott(1993)이 제안한 봉형구조(mode tree)을 이용하였고 다양한 형태의 밀도함수에 대하여 모의 실험을 실시하였다.

지난 8월 태영호 주영 북한대사관 공사의 망명 소식은 한반도와 전세계를 뜨겁게 달궜다. 태영호 공사는 김정은 집권 이후 망명한 북한 외교관 가운데 최고위급 인사다. 태영호 공사를 비롯해 김정은 집권 이후 최근 2년간 국내에 들어온 북한의 당·정·군 간부급만 20여명이 넘는 것으로 전해졌다. 김정일시대에는 일반 주민의 탈북이 많았던 반면 엘리트층은 단결했다. 김정은시대는 이와 반대로 일반 주민의 탈북은 줄었지만 엘리트층이 북한체제를 떠나고 있다.

The Sound of Capitalism: Myth, Commodification, and Authenticity of Rock Music Counterculture

This article explores the sociocultural aspects of rock music, analyzing its production, consumption, and associated meanings. Especially, it examines how rock music's cultural significance has evolved from its countercultural roots in the 1960s to its commercialized state in the 1990s and beyond. The genre has historically served as a canvas upon which societal changes, tensions, and aspirations are painted, rendering it an extraordinary lens to view the intricacies of social dynamics. To comprehend the social and cultural space that rock music inhabits in our modern capitalistic world, an extensive study of cultural, economic, and societal dynamics is required. This investigation into the genre's interactions with capitalist influences, countercultural resistance, and artistic authenticity reveals the volatile shifts and contrasting values of our time, underscoring its value as a critical cultural artifact for comprehending the contemporary society. Therefore, our understanding of rock music provides a unique lens onto the current societal landscape. Rock music, in this context, serves as a cultural barometer, charting the prevailing societal climate and the evolving cultural discourse.

국공립어린이집에 대한 부모 인식 및 보육서비스에 관한 연구 동향 고찰

본 연구는 국공립어린이집과 서울형 어린이집에 대한 부모 인식과 보육 서비스에 관한 만족도에 대한 연구를 분석하여 각 지자체 공보육어린이집의 활성화를 위한 기초자료를 제공하는 것을 목적으로 한다. 연구결과, 국공립어린이집에 대한 부모들의 인식은 '조금 알고 있다'가 가장 높았으며, 주로 자녀가 다니는 어린이집을 통해 정보를 얻는 것으로 나타났다. 보육 서비스 만족도는 보육의 질적 향상에 크게 기여하였으며, 부모의 사회경제적 특성을 고려한 부모 교육 프로그램의 개발 필요성이 제기되었다. 국공립어린이집과 서울형 어린이집 모두 공보육 모델로서 긍정적인 평가를 받았으며, 부모참여와 교육프로그램의 확대로 보육 정책의 신뢰성을 높일 필요가 있다. 또한, 수원형 어린이집은 시설과 보육료 지원, 교사자질, 편리성, 신뢰성 및 안전성, 건강과 영양 관리에서 높은 만족도를 유지하기 위해 지속적인 지원이 필요하다. 본 연구는 공보육 모델의 개선과 부모 교육 프로그램의 중요성을 강조하며, 향후 보육 정책의 발전을 위한 기초자료로 활용될 수 있을 것이다.
