염색집성목을 이용한 곡목의자의 개발에 관한 연구

        김동귀(Dong Kooi Kim) 한국가구학회 2013 한국가구학회지 Vol.24 No.3

The bent wood technique has been used for making the bow, the musical instruments and the wagon wheel, The Winsor chair of England in 1730’s was the first Lfurniture product by using this method. This method was spread out by Michael Thonet in Austria after the Industrial Evolution. Early making technique of Winsor chair was relatively easy, but Michael Thonet’s bent chair was mass produced by the machine and launched the revolution in the industrial furniture. 20th- Century European furniture designers applied the method of layering and forming plywood to bent chairs, enhanced the function and conformability. The bent chair had a big impact on modern chair design. The bent chair has the formative beauty and convenience from the character of softness and colors of wooden materials and has been developed variously by furniture designers. This study is a new approach to use Dyed-Gathered Wood with various colors and patterns as a material of the bend wood. First, bent wood with the Dyed-Gathered Wood enhances a close texture of wooden material textures instead of coating the surface. Second, flexibility of the bent wood with the Dyed-Gathered Wood enables wood bending techniques. Lastly, the Dyed-Gathered Wood is made with relatively cheap woods, replaces expensive imported woods which cause product price rise. This method enables a material cost saving and a stable supply of material.

염색집성목을 이용한 목 가구 개발에 관한 연구

        김동귀(Dong-Kooi Kim) 한국가구학회 2009 한국가구학회지 Vol.20 No.1

In this study, I suggest dyed-Glued laminated woods by using birch woods which are relatively cheaper than others. Since the dyed-Glued laminated woods which have the various colors to satisfy people's tastes and the dignified grains in the old woods enable us to product freely, these can provide us with stability of supply through replacing rare materials. The making wooden furniture designed with dyed-Glued laminated woods has these following characteristics. (1) This method which uses various colored woods can fulfill consumers' tastes through dyeing wooden plates, instead of using domestic woods which have limited colors-white, yellow and black. (2) Gathering wooden plates made by setting them into various frames enables us to get in large quantities of the materials with good grains, which we can only take from old woods. (3) Producing culture products using various colors and grains has enabled us to satisfy consumers and to create pro-environmental pieces. In conclusion, this study can be an alternative idea to forest resources which have been decreasing, and be an application method of using cheaper birch woods as well. Gathering and dyeing wooden plates might bring about the economic effect and be of much help to the expansion as furniture materials as well as interior ones.

염색집성목을 이용한 목상감 재료의 개발에 관한 연구

        김동귀(Dong Kooi Kim) 한국가구학회 2015 한국가구학회지 Vol.26 No.3

Inlay is a high technique of inlaying patterns on the surface of crafts and widely used transcending time and place at various hand crafting area. Inscribed pattern technique using rare materials in the area have been used by the artisans of artistic flair and functionality and its value is also highly regarded from ancient to modern and inherits and is being developed today. Existing inlay technique, however, has not been spread out because it needs craftsman’s skill based on the handcraft and inscribed materials are very rare to use. This paper aims to replace natural wood Sanggam materials for traditional furniture patterns such as Samho Jang, Ohho Jang, Seongtoenoe Moon, Gyeopgwinoe Moon and wood inlay text like Soo (Long life), Bok (Luck), Kang (Peace), Ryoung (Relaxed) and gammadion cross pattern. Gathered black, yellow and white color dyed wood using power tools can replace rare natural inlay materials through reliable and standardized supply. Dyed-gathered inlay materials can easily replace wood inlay materials, therefore, attempt to create an improved direction regarding materials and fabrication techniques in order to make traditional or contemporary artistic furniture to be produced.

        윤승락,김사익,조종수,노정관,나종범,김동귀,최길동 진주산업대학교 산업과학기술연구소 2007 산업과학기술연구소보 Vol.- No.14

Thermomechanical pulp (TMP) and chemical thermomechanical pulp (CTMP) of kenaf cultivated in Korea were manufactured and their fiber properties were investigated. TMP made of the core part of kenaf showed various geometric types of fibers such as rectangular, spindle, and cylindrical forms. The most TMP made of the outer part of kenaf were composed of bast fibers, where no damages on the surface and cutting section of bast fibers was found. CTMP made of the core showed that some fibers were damaged. However, the fibers in CTMP made of the bast were observed not to be damaged. The TMP made of the core showed sound fibers, but the CTMP made of the core showed some damaged fibers. The TMP made of the bast showed curl indexes higher than the CTMP made of the bast, and most of fibers were not damaged in both TMP and CTMP pulps.
