Antiallergic activity of the aqueous extract of Menthae herba (MHAE) was investigated in mice and rats. MHAE inhibited systemic anaphylaxis induced by compound 48/80 in mice. Especially, MHAE inhibited compound 48/80 induced systemic anaphylaxis 100% with a dose of 500 mg/kg body weight. MHAE significantly inhibited serum histamine levels induced by compound 48/80. MHAE inhibited histamine release from the rat peritoneal mast cells activated by compound 48/80 or anti-DNP IgE. Our studies provide evidence that MHAE will be beneficial in the treatment of anaphylaxis.

A method using coloric and spectrophotometric detection have been developed for the identification of the tertiary or quaternary alkaloids contained in Corydalis tuber and its preparations. The principle is based on the formation or decomposition of complex compounds. The complex compound of the tertiary and quaternary alkaloids have been formed by adding tetrathiocyanatocobaltate [II] ion to the test soln. Diverse crude drugs were screened using this method and the results indicated that isoquinoline, aconitine-type alkaloids in crude drugs can be readily detected. The method is simple, convenient, reproducible and applicable to the verification of the crude drug Corydalis tuber and its preparations.
Antitumor and Antiinflammatory Constituents from Celtis sinensis

Eight compounds were isolated from the methanolic extract of the twigs of Celtis sinensis through repeated silica gel and Sephadex LH-20 column chromatography. Their chemical structures were elucidated as two triterpenoids, germanicol and epifriedelanol, two amide compounds, trans-N-caffeoyltyramine and cis-N-coumaroyltyramine, two lignan glycoside, pinoresinol glycoside and pinoresinol rutinoside, and two steroids by spectroscopic analysis.

Four steroids and one flavonol glycoside were isolated from the ethanol extract of the whole plant of Aconitum pseudolaeve var. erectum. Their structures were identified as ${\beta}-sitost-4-en-3-one$, 22-dihydro-stigmast-4-en-3,6-dione, ${\beta}-sitosterol$, ${\beta}-sitosterol-3-O-{\beta}-D-glucopyranoside$ and $kaempferol-3-O-{\beta}-D-glucopyranoside(astragalin)$ on the basis of spectral data.

Hydrogen peroxide is one of major chemicals mediating antitumor and antimicrobial activities of macrophages. We searched natural products enhancing hydrogen peroxide generation from murine macrophage-like cell line J774. Among 21 methanol extracts of Korean medicinal plants, the extract from Cornus officinalis was the most effective. The active component from the fractions was searched by activity guided fractionation, and identified as ursolic acid by spectral data.

Osteochondroma is one of the most common bone tumors. It can occur anywhere, although it is most frequent mainly around the metaphysis of long bones. Prediction sites are distal femur, proximal humerus, proximal tibia, and so on. However, osteochondroma in sesamoid is very rare. Herein, we report a case of a 56-year-old woman with symptomatic extra-articular osteochondroma in hallucal sesamoid with a brief literature review.
버뮤다그래스 페어웨이에 퍼레니얼라이그래스 오버시딩에 따른 두 초종의 밀도 및 품질 변화와 Trifloxysulfuron-sodium 처리에 의한 전이시기 조정

When perennial ryegrass was overseeded in bermudagrass fairway, shoot density of perennial ryegrass was gradually increased to $88,000/m^2$ at the end of May, however dramatically decreased to 0 in September over the rainy season. On the other hand, that of bermudagrass increased from $2,000/m^2$ in March to $20,000/m^2$ in early June, and then decreased to $4,000/m^2$ at the end of July, after the rainy season, rapidly increased to $50,000/m^2$ in early September. Overseeding bermudagrass fairway with perennial ryegrass was maintained a good quality from mid-April to mid-June and decreased the quality over the rainy season from late June to July, and then turf quality was decrease to the worst level at the end of July. After the rainy season fairway quality was improved gradually and was the highest-level during September and early October. Trifloxysulfuron-sodium was treated to minimize the deterioration in turf quality due to early bermudgrass transition time in spring. Consequently, transition was started in mid-May and shoot density of bermudagrass treated by trifloxysulfuron-sodium was $70,000/m^2$ in mid-June. Even in the rainy season it was sustained as $30,000/m^2$, approximately three times higher than that of untreated overseeding fairway. 버뮤다그래스에 퍼레니얼라이그래스를 오버시딩 했을 때 퍼레니얼라이그래스의 밀도는 3월부터 점차적으로 증가하여 5월 말에는 88,000주/$m^2$를 유지하였다. 그러나 장마기를 거치면서 급격히 줄어들어 9월 초순경에는 0주/$m^2$가 되었다. 반면에 버뮤다그래스의 밀도는 3월경에 2,000주/$m^2$에서 온도가 증가함에 따라 점차 증가하여 5월 중순경에 10,000주/$m^2$, 6월 초순경에는 20,000주/$m^2$로 증가하였으며, 장마기를 거치면서 일조량 부족으로 7월 중순경에는 4,000주/$m^2$로 떨어졌다. 장마 후에는 밀도가 급격히 증가하여 9월 초순경에는 50,000주/$m^2$ 정도를 유지하였다. 퍼레니얼라이그래스로 오버시딩한 버뮤래스 페어웨이의 품질은 4월 중순부터 6월 중순까지 좋은 품질이 유지되다가 장마기이후 7월말에 가장 나빴으나 이후 점차 향상되어 9월 초순부터 10월 초순까지 좋은 품질을 나타내었다. 봄철 버뮤다그래스의 전이시기를 앞당겨 장마기의 품질저하를 최소화하기 위하여 trifloxysulfuron-sodium을 처리한 결과, 5월중순경부터 버뮤다그래스로 전이가 이루어져 6월 중순경에는 70,000주/$m^2$ 정도의 밀도를 보였으며 장마기에도 약 30,000주/$m^2$를 유지하여 무처리구에 비하여 약 3배 이상의 높은 밀도를 유지하였다.

본 연구에서는 실험개수로에 온수방류용 방류규가 있는 방파제의 모형을 설피하여 바닥\ulcorner의 유속분포를 측정하였다. 또한 3차원의 모형인 Fluent 모형을 이용하여 방파제의 방류구로부터 배출된 바닥젵의 유속구조를 수치모의하여 실험결과와 비교.검증하였으며 흐름특성을 규명하였다. 바닥젵은 자유젵에 비하여 흐름의 확립구간이 짧았으며, 종방향거리에 대한 젵 중앙유속의 감쇠율이 자유젵보다 크게 나타나고 있음이 밝혀졌다. 단순젵과 부력젵의 젵 중앙선에서의 종방향유속을 비교한 결과, 방류구 근처에서는 부력\ulcorner의 유속이 크게 발생하나 x/lQ가 15보다 큰 구간에는 도리어 작게 된다. 종방향유속의 연직분포를 비교한 결고, 방류구로부터 멀어질수록 저층에서는 단순젵의 유속이 크게 나타나며 상충에서는 단순젵의 부의 유속이 크게 나타나고 있음이 밝혀졌다. 또한 부력젵의 경우 자유수면에서의 유속의 분리가 단순젵보다 방류구로부터 가까운 거리에서 발생한다. 부력젵의 연직방향으로의 폭은 단순젵의 폭보다 빨리 확장된다. In this study, breakwater model which has several outlet pipes to discharge heated water is settled in the experimental open channel and velocity distribution of wall jet is measured. Numerical simulation of velocity structure of wall jet using 3-dimensional computer model. Fluent model, is also carried out. The calculated results are verified with the experimental results and the flow characteristics of wall jet are investigated. The length of zone of flow establishment of wall jet is shorter than that of free jet, and the diminution rate of jet centerline longitudinal velocity is larger than that of free jet. Characteristics of buoyant jet and non-buoyant simple jet simulated by Fluent model are compared. Near the outlet pipe, in the region where x/lQ is over 15, this is reversed. Comparison of vertical distribution of longitudinal velocity shows that positive velocity of non-buoyant jet is bigger than that of buoyant jet in the bottom layer and in the upper layer, negative velocity of non-buoyant jet is bigger too. Flow separation in free surface of the buoyant jet occurs in smaller distances from the outlet than the non-buoyant jet. Buoyant jet expands faster than the non-buoyant jet in vertical direction.
부유사 및 하상토 입도분포를 고려한 저수지 퇴사의 장기모의

본 연구에서는 HEC-RAS의 하상변동모형을 이용하여 고농도의 유사가 중소규모의 저수지에 유입하여 삼각주를 형성하는 과정을 유사의 입도분포를 고려하여 해석하였으며, 다음과 같은 결론을 얻을 수 있었다. 먼저, 삼각주의 시공간적인 분포와 년간 저수지에 퇴적되는 입도별 퇴사량을 합리적으로 예측할 수 있었다. 또한 저수지의 특정위치에서 특정시기에 어떤 입도의 유사가 주로 퇴적되는지를 합리적으로 예측할 수 있었다. 이러한 유사의 입도분포를 고려한 모의와 분석은 수자원관련 시설물의 계획 및 유지관리에 필요한 유용한 정보를 제공해 줄 수 있을 것으로 판단된다. The bed change model of HEC-RAS was used to predict the formation of a delta upon an influx of high-density sediment while taking the particle-size distributions of the suspended sediment and bed materials into account. The model was able to reasonably predict both the spatial-temporal distribution of the delta and the amount of deposited sediment according to the grain size. In addition, it was able to estimate the main type of grains that sediment at particular locations at particular times moderately well. It is expected that the simulation and the analysis considering these particle-size distributions of sediment will provide important information on planning and maintenance of the water resource related facilities.
