Recently there is a great interest in the bi-static sonar. However, since the transmitter and the receiver operate on different platforms, it may be necessary to operate the system in a non-cooperative mode. In this situation, the detection and localization performance are limited. Therefore, it is necessary to classify the received pulse from the transmitter to overcome the performance limitation. In this paper, we proposed a robust automatic pulse classification method that can be applied to real systems. The proposed method eliminates the effects of noise and multipath propagation through post-processing and improves the pulse classification performance. We also verified the proposed method through the sea experimental data.

In order to achieve good deep drawability it is imperative to obtain well developed {111}//ND texture which gives rise to the higher plastic strain ratios. However, it has been found that no {111} texture developed after a normal rolling process and subseguent annealing processe. Therefore an unconventional rolling process which causes shear deformation has been introduced for 99.99 pct aluminum and Al-1.2Mn-0.4Mg alloy. The effect of initial texture and microstructure on the shear texture has been studied. It is found that the rolling texture using asymmetric rolls could be characterized by α fibre and γ fibre. This experimental results were able to be explained by the Taylor-Bishop-Hill theory. The evolution of recrystallization texture from the specimen having the shear texture components was well predicted using the maximum energy release model suggested by Lee.
Cystic Hygroma Occurring on the Left Side of Neck of an Adult : A Case Report and Literature Review

With few reported cases, cystic hygroma is known to occur mainly in patients under the age of two years. Cystic hygroma can eventuate in any area; however, it mostly occurs in the cervicofacial area. If cystic hygroma occurs in this area, then the lesion may be related to the vital structures. Therefore, a complete surgical resection may be impossible and difficult to perform. This incident affects the high recurrence rate of cystic hygroma. The purpose of this report is to present a case of cystic hygroma occurring on the left side of the neck of a 47-year-old male patient as well as a review of literatures.
A New Measurement to Understand Convergence Phenomenon

Many scholars have persevered in understanding the convergence process by developing a measurement that reflects the characteristics of the convergence phenomenon as a process. Recently a series of studies suggested a framework in terms of diversity and coherence. However, an index for coherence is required to reflect the vital features of the conceptual definition, and thus a new index for coherence is proposed in this paper. Technology Convergence Index combines diversity and coherence and indicates the degree of the convergence in information computer technology (ICT), biotechnology (BT) and nanotechnology (NT) sectors. The index can not only be used to track each technology field that consists of a major technology sector, but also to compare other leading countries. Based on a comparison study between the United States and South Korea, the degrees of technology convergence of Korea in ICT, BT, and NT sectors have ameliorated.
A New Approach to Estimating Product Lifetimes: A Case Study of an LED Based LCD TV

Estimating the economic life of a technology is the first important prerequisite step in the feasibility analysis of technology-based business. Many empirical studies have concentrated on patents data to estimate the time period for a technology. However, it is recommended to estimate it along with qualitative considerations of future technological and market conditions. In this regard, little is known about how approaches are applied. This paper aims to establish a structural framework of estimating the lifetime of a technology by integrating the outputs of an analysis of the determinants in each transition of a product life cycle. We describe an illustrative case about a light emitting diode (LED) backlight unit (BLU) technology for the liquid crystal display (LCD) TV. The framework allows valuators and experts to estimate a technology lifetime by using multidimensional factors.
