This article is a study of John Knox, a Scottish reformer who was an important figure in the Reformation in the 16th century. Compared to that of Luther, Calvin, and Zwingli, Knox’s research is not prevalent in historical publications. In studying Knox, I will focus on his educational thought rather than his theological thought. The reason for focusing on his educational thought is to knowledge that Reformation in the 16th century was not only a religious reformation, but also an educational reformation. This article is based on the historical research methods on the primary document, The First Book of Discipline. In the article, I will address the state of education pre and post reformation and the contents of The First Book of Discipline. I will also analyze the neccessity of school establishments, reformation of the school system, universal education, and compulsory education. It is necessary to conduct and in-depth study on Knox’s educational philosophy promoting equality and serving the socially underprivileged.

Drugs are important causes of rhabdomyolysis. In Korea, however, there is no report of rhabdomyolysis developed by methamphetamine intoxication. We experienced a case of rhabdomyolysis developed in a methamphetamine poisoning patient. The patient was a 25-year-old man presenting with altered mental status. Results of further investigations showed evidence of acute renal failure and rhabdomyolysis. He was treated with general supportive care including hydration, urine alkalization and hemodialysis, but this patient died eventually. This case shows the importance of the suspiction of illicit drugs including methamphetamine as a cause of rhabdomyolysis with an unclear etiology.

현재 인터넷은 최초로 ARPANET이 설치된 1969년부터 시작하면 초기 TCP/IP 아키텍쳐를 기본으로 해서 40 여년 동안 기본 뼈대를 바꾸지 않고 진화해 왔다. 패킷 스위칭, IP 계층을 thin waist로 하는 유연한 구조, 확장성 있는도메인 이름과 IP 주소의 매핑 등 TCP/IP 아키텍쳐의 장점 덕분에 현재까지는 거의 대부분의 서비스를 잘 지원하고있으나 단말기 이동성, 라우팅 확장성, 보안, 망 관리 등 현재 여러가지 문제점이 대두됨에 따라 새로운 인터넷 아키텍쳐가 필요하다는 주장이 몇 년 전부터 제기되어 왔다. 본 논문에서는 현재 인터넷의 문제점들과 기술적인 이슈들을 분석해 보고 이를 해결하려는 제안된 아키텍쳐들을 소개하며 마지막으로 향후 인터넷의 큰 변화에 대한 개인적인 의견을제시하고자 한다.
