        This study purposes to find a basic method how the change of landscape structure according to the national road construction presents traditional detailed landscape factors in suburb area, that can be prospected as follows. a. to bring into the image of countryside towns in suburb areas where the scenery is beautiful and naturalness are plentiful to preserve country landscapes. b. to be harmonized with natural environment and artificial facilities, minimizing the spatial destruction phenomena of traditional internal spaces of towns in suburb areas. c. to execute construction of the national roads in suburb areas, preserving the characteristics of countryside landscape with naturalness of the backgrounds. d. to acquire the visual corridors of the national roads, enforcing the frames of idiosyncratic, creative and systematic regional landscapes in suburb areas. e. to harmonize with landscape and land uses of the countryside areas according to fit the road types to the shift of landscape structure. f. to inculcate pride in regional residents to secure the identity of the countryside landscape in suburb areas. The result of the study can produce effective alternatives as follows. a. to present the basic guidelines for enforcing the quality of road landscape in suburb areas. b. to contribute to establish the comprehensive landscape master plan in suburb areas. c. to promote to having regulations for controlling preservative methods of landscape in suburb areas.

      • 環境影饗評價에서의 住民 與와 評價項目抽出에 關한 硏究 : 소도시 개발에 관련된 주민의 인식을 중심으로 In case of Public The Recognition Connected with Development of A Small City

        This study aims in items abstraction and participation chance fit for the environment impact assessment of small cities through the degree of public political desires and public participation centered on the degree of public recognition. Based on the results of the study, we came to conclusions as follows. First, even though the inhabitants in small city didn't know about the environmental impact assessment well, they felt its necessity and recognized the necessity of public opinions. Therefore, collecting the public opinions in the present environmental impact assessment should be accomplished more actively. Second, the environmental impact assessment in Korea makes an estimate of effects on the environment and arranges reduction plans. The inhabitants in small cities recognize that the development business may have a great effect on the environment, and the environment impact assessment may make a contribution to preserve the environment. And also, they recognize the necessity to suggest the plans to reduce the effects on the environment as their direct participation before when the development is executed in their city. Third, it was shown that they recognize the quality of water, waste matters, the traffic and the education in order importantly. And jamming, sunshine hindrance, leisure facilities, landscape and so on were shown to be unimportant. It is shown to be more necessary to apply the items fit for each area which are abstracted following their direct requests on making out the environmental impact assessment of small cities.

      • 도로경관의 물리적 조건과 심리적 반응과의 상관성

        Findings an analysis of correlation between physical conditions and psychological response of roadscape are as follows : It was found that variables of a physical conditions on a psychological response of roadscape had statistically significance under the level of 5%. And, it was found that soundproofing and protection wall and building affected in a negative direction whereas remaining ten(10) variables developed in a positive direction, and the increase in mountain value had the greatest effect on the increase in the preference. Concerning a contribution to a psychological response of roadscape, soundproofing and protection wall was a variable with the smallest contribution to a psychological response while mountains were a variable with the greatest contribution; ; it was evaluated that mountains had higher importance as much as 458.6 times than soundproofing and protection wall. It was evaluated that mountains, road tree, sky, and median strip importance 5.2, 3.0, 1.4 and 0.5 times as much as fields, respectively. And, it was evaluated that mountains had importance 1.7 times as much as road tree, 3.7 times as much as the sky.

        This study aims to establish the alternatives for conservation of the Musim-Chon, which is one of symbolic stream of Cheongju city, being the ecological site of natural area and having a site of impressed image of the city placeless. Musim-Chon: A Premier Landscape for People and Nature in the 21st Century. The proposal that follows concerns the joint development of a landscape masterplan for Musim-Chon, the main watercourse in Cheongju City, Korea. The central work of advanced societies in the first part of the twenty-first century will be to address the legacy of overuse and in some cases degradation of land and waterway corridors in their cities from previous times Development through land recovery projects along with green river corridors and sustainable public space is an increasingly significant part of urban development and design initiatives globally. They can also be some of the most technically and logistically complex projects and processes, since they deal with a broad set of issues including water and soil cleansing technologies, the continuation of cultural values, current economics, environmental regulations, diverse programs and constituencies, and extended implementation dynamics. The challenge, therefore, is to marry the technical and engineering aspects of river corridor regeneration with the social-cultural and design aspects of development and environmental renewal in a way that produces a broader recovery process, encourages richer projects, and lays a new foundation for city development projects in the future.

        This research aims to find processes for developing the design language for the visual notes and design meaning of street furnitures. The research found as follows. 1) The design language implies to get how to represent condensed symbols of the street furnitures. 2) The configuration of the street furnitures has their visual note and design meaning of community identity, represented their own detail design language. 3) The detail design language are useful to solve the matters of what design elements of the street furnitures can be composed of the visual note and design meaning. 4) The detail design language can be applied to the pattern of tools of Microsoft Office Word.

        This research purposes to find a basic method how the traditional eight sceneries can be selected with rationale and to know the means what factors of the landscape structure and image of aesthetical sceneries can be composed of. This method could be applied to the Cheong-ju eight sceneries and be caught as follows. The landscape structure of Cheong-ju eight sceneries has complex corridors of landscape, which might imply balance and harmonization with nature and visual shape of an interesting scenery point. The landscape image of Cheong-ju eight sceneries has their own idiosyncrasy of visual shape, pattern, composition, which might be brought to preference and curiosity to the place of the aesthetical landscape. The characters of Cheong-ju eight sceneries have the representative image of Cheong-ju area where the scenery is beautiful and naturalness are plentiful to preserve countryside landscape.

        The city of the 20th century is a complicate complex of fragments, a mosaic of communities held together by a web of highways, roads, and transit systems. The basic qualities of these fragments vary in quqlity, depending on the urban design idea and public will have produced in them and on the way not only the natural environment has been handled but also the human need has been considered. The cities that have had their major growth in 20th century may be a model of what will come in places that have much activities, but almost inevitably cities have to be more connected in the future because of the developing telrcommunication and mass-transportation system. The tendency of the urban design in the 21st century will be to consider the natural resource conservation and energy thrifty strategy for changing dense land use into opening spaces appropriatte to public and enforcing urban design on the private sector invested to the human need in order to satisfy community culture preserved and events promoted. This study finds the diversified process of designing during the past four decades. The progress has been based on a integrational attitude in addressing comprehensively the problems architects and other design professionals face in urban design.
