Low-pressure metalorganic chemical-vapor deposition was used to grow single- crystal hexagonal GaN lms with an Al pre-seeded AlN buffer layer on Si(111) substrates by using SiC intermediate layers. The crystal quality and the surface morphology of GaN lms were found to strongly depend on the Al pre-seeding time because the Al pre-seeding procedure prevented the formation of SixNy at the 3C-SiC surface. The crystal quality and the surface morphology of the GaN films were improved with increasing Al pre-seeding time. The optimized Al pre-seeding time was 20 s. The full width at half maximum (FWHM) of the PL spectra of an GaN epilayer grown at the optimized Al pre-seeding time was 42.0 meV, and the FWHM of X-ray diffraction rocking curve for the GaN (0002) plane was 649.584 arcsec. The root-mean-square value of the surface roughness of the GaN was 2.11 nm, and the crack density was reduced.

This study is experimentally investigated whether or not a relationship exists between the mechanical properties and damping capacity of cold-rolled 316 L stainless steel. Deformation-induced martensite was formed with surface relief and directionality. With the increasing degree of deformation, the volume fraction of ${\varepsilon}$-martensite increased, and then decreased, while ${\alpha}^{\prime}$-martensite increased rapidly. With an increasing degree of deformation, tensile strength was increased, and elongation was decreased; however, damping capacity was increased, and then decreased. Tensile strength and elongation were affected in the ${\alpha}^{\prime}$-martensite; hence, damping capacity was influenced greatly by ${\varepsilon}$-martensite. Thus, there was no proportional relationship between strength, elongation, and damping capacity.
탄소나노튜브의 열처리에 따른 고분자전해질연료전지용 촉매의 표면처리 및 담지특성 향상

본 연구에서는 탄소나노튜브를 담지체로 사용하여 연료전지용 백금(Pt) 촉매의 고분산, 고담지를 목적으로 하였다. 탄소나노튜브의 표면처리는 열적산화방식으로 전처리하였다. 25, 50, 90 및 $110^{\circ}C$에서 열처리를 하였을 경우, 온도변화에 따른 작용기의 영향을 FT-IR, XPS를 통해 분석하였다. XPS를 통해 전처리의 온도가 증가할수록 작용기의 농도가 증가하는 것을 확인 하였으며, TGA와 TEM을 통해 Pt의 담지량과 분산도 또한 증가한 것을 확인하였다. 산화과정에서 열적거동은 고담지 Pt 촉매의 제조와 밀접한 관련이 있으며, 본 연구에서 제조된 촉매의 고분산, 고담지에 적절한 합성 온도는 $90^{\circ}C$로 관찰되었으며 단위전지에서 가장 좋은 성능을 나타내었다. In this study, carbon nanotubes were used as supporter to get high dispersion and high loading of Pt for PEMFC. Thermal oxidation method was applied to carbon nanotubes surface treatment. FT-IR and XPS were used to measure the effect of temperature on functional group. The increased concentration of functional groups was confirmed by XPS analysis, and increased Pt loading and dispersion was also observed by TGA and TEM analysis with increased temperature. Thermal behavior of oxidation is closely related to the manufacture of highly dispersed Pt/MWCNTs. Pt/MWCNTs treatment temperature at $90^{\circ}C$, showed high dispersion and high loading of Pt, and also showed good cell performance.
Fe-28Mn-2Al-3Si 합금의 진동 감쇠능에 관한 연구

The effect of the damping capacity of Fe-28Mn-2Al-3Si alloy has been investigated after changing the microstructure by cold rolling. Microstructures in Fe-28Mn-2Al-3Si at room temperature consist of a large quantity of austenite and small quantities of ε and α' martensites. And ε and α' martensites were increased by increasing the degree of cold rolling. With increasing the grain size, the volume fraction of martensite was increased which transformed from the austenite by the cold rolling. Damping capacity was linearly increased with increasing the degree of rolling due to transforming austenite to martensite by deformation. Damping capacity is strongly affected by ε martensite than α' martensite making by deformation induced martensite.

In this paper, a 300 W LED projection lighting system for landscape lighting applications was designed and fabricated. Detailed descriptions of the system design were given. Optical and electrical characteristics of the fabricated system, including total luminous flux, luminous efficacy, electric power consumption, and viewing angle, were measured. Future plans for utilizing and commercializing the developed system were presented.
