Ovariectomy of Fibroma in Paint Horse by Using the Diagonal Paramedian Approach

A 10-year-old Paint horse was presented with gradual changes in behavior, characterized as stallion-like including aggressiveness towards people and other horse. The abnormal right ovary was detected via transrectal ultrasonography and rectal palpation. A complete blood count and biochemical panel values were within reference ranges. The hormone analysis revealed increased testosterone 46.00 pg/mL and inhibin 0.856 ng/mL, and progesterone concentration consistent with absence of luteal tissue 1.2 ng/mL more than normal values. The purpose of the study reported was to describe a ovariectomy of enlarged ovary by using the diagonal paramedian approach. This method is useful to minimize surgical exposure and hemorrhage. This ovary was confirmed fibroma by histological examination post operation. Behavior problems and the hormone values were alleviated after surgery, and clinical signs of complication were not showed

본 연구의 목적은 실시간 또는 비실시간의 원격평생교육을 효율적으로 실천하기 위해 원격평생교육 교수자가 담당해야 하는 역할과 함양해야 하는 역량을 체계적으로 분석하는 데 있다. 이를 위해 선행연구를 통해 도출된 원격평생교 육 교수자의 9개 역할과 21개 역량을 전문가 12인에게 검토 받은 후 191명의 교수자를 대상으로 각 항목에 대한 필요도와 실행도를 조사하였다. 이를 토대로 t-검정, Borich의 요구순위도, The Locus for Focus Model로 분석하여 원격평생교육 교수자의 역할과 역량에 대한 요구를 확인하였다. 그 결과, 모든 역할과 역량의 필요도와 실행도 간에 통계적으로 유의한 차이가 있음이 확인되었다. 역할 중에서는 ‘상호작용 촉진․관리자’와 ‘원격교육 시스템 운영자’에 대한 역할에 우선적인 요구가 있었다. 또한 역량 중에서는 ‘원격교수-학습이론’, ‘교수법’, ‘원격교육 시스템 이해’, ‘원격교육 시스템 운영’, ‘학습자 상태 파악’의 5개 역량에 최우선적인 요구가 있으며 ‘온라인 tool 활용’과 ‘강의 진행’ 및 ‘협력’의 3개 역량에 대한 차순위의 요구가 있는 것으로 확인되었다. 이러한 내용을 토대로 원격평생교육 교수자의 역할 및 역량 강화를 지원할 수 있다면 이들의 실천적 능력 향상 뿐 아니라 원격평생교육의 질 향상에도 기여할 수 있을 것이라 기대한다.
우울과 이상섭식행동의 관계에서 자기침묵과 정서조절곤란의 직렬 매개효과

The following study was conducted to identify the linkage of the two pathologies by observing the correlation of the high comorbid rate of depression and disordered eating behavior. The study examines whether self-silencing and emotion dysregulation mediated in a sequential manner in the relationship between depression and disordered eating behavior. For this, 266 participants, 20-30% of whom were female, completed Depression scale(CES-D), The Korean Version of Eating Attitude Test-26(KEAT-26), Silencing-The-Self-Scale(STSS), Difficulties in Emotion Regulation Scale(K-DERS). The data collected was then analyzed using SPSS 24.0 and Process Macro 2.16. The results indicate that self-silencing and emotion dysregulation both mediated the relationship between depression and disordered eating behavior. These findings proved self-silencing and emotion dysregulation as mechanisms linking depression and disordered eating behavior. More so, it was also observed that both self-silencing and emotion dysregulation mediated sequentially. The study suggested that in the case of high level of depression, self-silencing behaviors that suppressed both the thoughts and emotions of the participants, may pose difficulty in controlling emotions and in turn lead to disordered eating behavior. The limitations and implications for future work are also discussed. 본 연구는 우울과 이상섭식행동의 공병률이 높음을 고려하여 두 병리의 관계를 연결하는 기제를 파악하는 것이 목적이다. 우울과 이상섭식행동의 관계에서 자기침묵과 정서조절곤란이 순차적으로 매개하는지 검증하였다. 이를 위해 20-30대 여성 266명의 참여자가 우울 척도(CES-D), 한국판 식사태도 검사(KEAT-26), 자기침묵 척도(STSS), 한국판 정서조절곤란 척도(K-DERS)를 온라인으로 실시하였다. 수집된 자료는 SPSS 24.0과 Process Macro 2.16을 사용하여 분석하였다. 연구 결과, 우울과 이상섭식행동의 관계에서 자기침묵과 정서조절곤란의 각각의 매개효과가 유의하였으며, 그 경로에서 자기침묵과 정서조절곤란의 직렬 매개효과도 유의하였다. 이러한 결과는 자기침묵과 정서조절곤란이 우울과 이상섭식행동을 연결하는 기제이며, 우울의 수준이 높은 경우 관계 내에서 자신의 생각과 감정을 억제하는 자기침묵 행동을 하면 정서조절에 어려움을 경험하게 되고, 결국 이상섭식행동으로 이어질 수 있음을 시사한다. 이를 바탕으로 본 연구의 한계점과 향후 연구를 위한 제언을 논의하였다.

The present study demonstrates a new approach that enables effective horse parentage testing using 22 ISAG microsatellite markers involving 6 heads of Thoroughbred horse (TB) and non-TB. In the comparison allele distribution between these horses, the alleles found in the TB were numerously detected in the non-TB. As results, we confirmed that these ISAG microsatellite markers might apply the pedigree registration of Korean native horse (Jeju horse).

Background : Rhododendron brachycarpum belong to Ericaceae family is northern herbaceous plant and grows high in mountains of Korea. Traditionally, this plants have been used to treat arthralgia, neuralgia, hypertension, roborant and diuretic. In spite of medicinal values, natural populations are decresing due to climate change and grows slowly. Therefore it need to secure plant materials and in vitro culture is able to the alternative methods. In this study, we examined the effect of PGRs treatment using leaf and petiole explants. Methods and Results : The effects of the different surface sterilization agents (NaOCl and HgCl2) and time were tested. Best results with lower contamination and higher explants survival were recorded with 2 - 4% NaOCl for 1 minutes and 0.5 - 1.0% AgNO3. Callus was obtained when cultured onto MS medium using different concentration and combination of 2,4-D, BA and NAA. Maxium induction of callus was obtained from combinations of 2.0 ㎎ l-1 2,4-D and 1.0 - 2.0 ㎎ l-1 BA from leaf explants. Petiole explants were more effective to induce callus than leaf explants from combination of 1.0 ㎎ l-1 2,4-D and 0.1 - 1.0 ㎎ l-1 BA. Conclusion : The resultes provide that different explants and PGRs combinations were good source of callus induction.
The High Resolution NMR Solution Structure of Monocyte Chemoattractant Protein-3

The high resolution solution structure of MCP-3 was determined using multinuclear, multidimensional NMR spectroscopy with an expressed and 13C- and 15N-labeled protein. The MCP-3 has a typical chemokine fold including 3 anti-parallel -sheets, and a C-terminal helix, but it exists as a monomer in solution under the conditions where the structure was determined (2 mM, pH 5.1 at 30°C). Based on the structure and the amino acid sequence compared to other chemokines we propose that Ile20 and Leu25 in MCP-3 play key roles in the formation of N-loop (residues between the 2nd cysteine and the 1 sheet) which has been implicated as a determinant of chemokine specificity. Additional receptor binding surface is supplied by the 40s loop (residues between the 2 and the 3 sheet) and the binding interface of the acidic N-terminal region of chemokine receptor to MCP-3 would resemble the dimerization interface of CC type dimer. 영어논문
