Preparation of S-PPEES/TiO<sub>2</sub>-GO composites and application to water purification

Sulfonated poly(1,4-phenylene ether ether sulfone) (S-PPEES)/TiO<sub>2</sub>-GO composites were prepared by phase inversion method for the photocatalytic treatment of wastewater. Sulfonation was carried out in order to solve the dispersion problem. S-PPEES was used as polymer matrix. TiO<sub>2</sub> was used as photocatalyst and additive. Graphene oxide (GO) was used to enhance the adsorption of pollutants and to improve the electron transferring from TiO<sub>2</sub>. S-PPEES/TiO<sub>2</sub>-GO nanocomposites were fabricated by phase inversion method to increase surface area. The morphology and structure of nanofibers were studied by scanning electron microscope and Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy. The photocatalytic activity was evaluated by a UV spectrometer based on the degradation of methylene blue as a model pollutant.
