초기 부모 역할수행에 관련된 제변인에 관한 탐색적 연구 : An Exploratory Study

The purpose of this study was to investigate variables related to parent's involvement in childrearing. The subjects of this study were 78couples in Seoul. They were university graduates, and each of the families was composed of three members: mother, father and child. The mothers were not working outside the home and their first baby was 3∼24 months of age. The questions raised in this study were as follows: 1) How do marital adaptability variables correlate with the extent of parents' involvement in childrearing? 2) How do childhood experiences correlate with the extent of parents' involvement in childrearing? 3) How do role expectation variables correlate with the extent of parents' involvement in childrearing? 4) How do family circumstance variables correlate with the extent of parents' involvement in childrearing? The data were analysed by x^2-test, ANOVA, and t-test. The results were as follows: 1) In the case of mothers, adaptability to married life was related to happiness, general satisfaction and conversation with mate, communication, sexual satisfaction and confidence in mate. In the case of fathers, adaptability to married life was related to conversation with mate, communication, confidence in mate, and esteem of mate. 2) Mother's childhood experience was not related to her involvement in childreasing. But father's involvement in childrearing. But father's involvement was related to his happiness in childhood, his own parents' marital happiness, and his own father's concerns about childrearing. 3) Role expectation variables of each mate correlated with the extent of involvement in childrearing. The significant variables for mother were consideration of the home as a place for the family, of sex life based on love and faith, of the husband as a good father of their child, and respect for the religions and faith of spouse. Significant variables for fathers were similar social position with the spouse, sex life based on love and faith, and sharing of household responsibilities. 4) Family circumstance variables which correlated with the extent of involvement in childrearing were mother's (and father's) evaluation of her (and his) marriage after the baby's birth, and father's having read books about the baby care.

Purpose: To introduce the modified Quickert suture for lower lid entropion, using nonabsorbable suture material. Methods: From October, 2011 to June, 2012, a total of 11 patients (12 eyes) with lower lid entropion, in poor general condition or who did not want extensive surgery, were recruited for the present surgery. Three small skin incisions were made at the medial, central, and lateral areas, just below the lower cilia. With double armed 6-0 nylon, each needle was inserted in the inferior conjuctival fornix and the 2 ends of the suture were tied and buried at the point of the skin incision site. Sutures were made at the medial, central and lateral areas. Results: The patients consisted of 4 males and 7 females with an average age of 71.3 ± 8.4 years (54-82 years). The patients were followed up the patients for an average of 13.9 ± 2.4 months postoperatively. All patients were satisfied with the outcome, and there were no recurrences. Conclusions: Quickert suture is a simple and effective method, for correcting lower lid entropion by inducing scar formation with absorbable suture materials, but the effect duration is limited. Because the modified Quickert suture utilizes its own tension with a nonabsorbable suture material, the effect lasts as long as the suture material remains. It is a useful and practicable method for patients, in poor general condition or not wanting extensive surgical procedures. J Korean Ophthalmol Soc 2014;55(12):1739-1744

본 연구는 대학생의 친구관계에서 친한 친구에 대한 긍정적, 부정적 감정이 친구의 지원 기능 및 갈등해결 방식과 어떻게 관련되어 있는가를 밝히기 위한 목적으로 수행되었다. 남녀 대학생 132명에게 McGill 친구관계 질문지와 Rahim 모델에 기초한 갈등 해결방식으로 설문지 조사를 하고 단순상관, 회귀분석, SEM을 통해 분석하였다. 연구 결과, 친구의 사회정서적 지원과 공평한 갈등해결 방식은 만족스런 친구관계를 유지하는 주요변인으로 나타났다. 특히 갈등 상황에서 협력이나 절충을 통한 해결방식은 친구에 대한 신뢰와 연관되어 친구에 대한 긍정적 감정을 증가시키나, 갈등해결에서의 양보는 친구에 대한 신뢰와 관계없이 부정적 감정을 증가시킨다. This study intends to examine how friend's support functions and conflict-resolution styles are related to positive and negative feelings toward the best same-sex friend of college students. The McGill Friendship Questionnaires were completed by 132 college students. The data were analyzed by simple correlation, hierarchical multiple regression, and Structural Equation Model. The best friend's support and the egalitarian way of conflict resolution were found to be the significant factors in predicting satisfactory friendship of college students. It was also found that the conflict resolution with collaboration and compromise promotes positive feelings toward the best friend with contingent on the trust in the friend, while the giving-in style of conflict resolution promotes negative feelings to the best friend regardless of the trust level.

청소년기 초기의 부모-자녀 및 친구 관계

Individualism and collectivism as a dimension of cultural diversity were applied to the research of social relations in adolescence. The purpose of the present study was to investigate parent-child relations and friendships of 119 14-year-old Korean and German adolescents. The participants reported daily for a week about social contacts with significant people in their lives regarding 9 social functions. The Korean adolescents who live in a collectivism-oriented society and the German adolescents who belong to an individualism-oriented society had different criteria to classify social relations: While the issue of ‘blood-relationship’ was an important factor in social contacts of Korean participants, ‘age’ of persons was more important than any other variables for German participants. The Korean adolescents tended to avoid conflicts with parents and compared themselves with their friends more than did German adolescents. In contrast, German adolescents had more conflict with their parents and friends than did Korean adolescents, but their self-esteem was more supported by both relations. Differences between both countries in the tendency to encourage independence and individuality of adolescents were considered as one important reason for the cultural differences.

아동 물활론의 발달과 생명개념

The purpose of the present study was to investigate the view that animism is a result of immature concepts of life. Two studies were conducted for this purpose Study I examined developmental trends in animistic thinking and Study II examined children`s knowledge of living things. The subjects of Study I were 10 males and 10 females at each level, 6, 8, 11 and 14 years of age and university students, for a total of 100 subjects. The subjects of Study II were 9 boys and 9 girls at each age level, 6, 7 and 8 years of age and university students, for a total of 78 subjects. According to the results of study I and study II, animistic thinking decreased up to middle childhood but increased at later childhood and adulthood. The conception of living things was acquired at 7 years of age. All things considered, there was no evidence that animism is a result of immature concepts of life.

Additive anti-inflammation by a combination of conjugated linoleic acid and a-lipoic acid through molecular interaction between both compounds

Alpha lipoic acid (LA) and conjugated linoleic acid (CLA) have been well-documented on a variety of functional effects in health foods. The main purpose of this study was focused on the additive anti-inflammatory activity of the combination of LA and CLA in vitro. Raw 264.7 cells induced by lipopolysaccharide were treated with LA and CLA individually or in combination at a variety of concentration ranges. Co-treating 25 lM of LA and 25 lM of CLA significantly inhibited pro-inflammatory cytokines compared to the same concentration of single LA- or CLA-treated group. The molecular mechanism of anti-inflammation by a combination of these compounds was attributed to extracellular signal-regulated kinase-1 (ERK1) and peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor gamma (PPARc). Also, the molecular interaction between both compounds was confirmed by NMR. Our findings suggested that the combination of CLA and LA showed potential additive effect on anti-inflammation through the molecular interaction of both compounds.
