Because the distribution systems experience frequently the fault by several causes, the identification task of fault location plays very important role in the view point of power supply reliability. The distribution systems are designed as radial structure with three-phase and single-phase branch line to supply the electric power to the widely dispersed loads, and it have a several load taps within each line segment. it makes the accurate fault distance determination difficult. Accordingly in this papers, the existing fault point determination methods are surveyed and analyzed, and then a fault distance determination method for distribution feeder is adopted which can be executed effectively in DAS center. Finally, the adopted method is verified using EMTP simulation.

Recently, in the electric, electronic, robotic, and medical industries, a great attention has been paid to the development of MEMS-based smart devices with a compact size and highly intelligency. The MEMS technology is very effective in designing into a compact size and lightweight by combining into one the complex electrical, mechanical, chemical, and biological features which are required by smart devices, and at the same time, in bulk batch manufacturing. Therefore, this study, to prepare for upcoming new MEMS-based technological paradigm, analyzes MEMS processes and then considers its Applications.

The arc-fault occurring in the customer system becomes the direct cause of electric fire. However, it is very difficult to identify the arc-fault using the existing fault detection mechanism because the magnitude of the fault current is very small. Accordingly, this paper analyzes the causes of arc fault and designs the basic detection mechanism of arc fault. And then, it proposes an signal processing-based arc-fault determination methodology which can enhance the of accuracy of the arc-fault determination by applying DFT/DWT to the voltage and current waveform. Finally, this paper showed the application methodology of the proposed signal processing based fault determination method by applying and analyzing DFT/DWT to an high voltage in-rush current waveform.

In 21 century, it is difficult to define the limit of home automation, Recently, based on the advanced digital communication technology and necessity, The scope of the home automation has widened to home energy management, integrated reading of home and home health care etc. beyond the existing home automation. However, those methodologies reduce the efficiency and economy, and make it harder to realize a compact home automation because those methodologies are proposed independently without a unified standard. Therefore, this paper investigates and analyzes these methodologies, and then proposes an advanced home automation system that enables a compact design and improves the efficiency and economics of the home automation system based on the analyzed result.

The thermoelectric cooler is receiving great interest because of advantages such as the precise temperature control capability, the compact and lightweight cooler, and the mechanical vibrationless structure which enhances the reliability compared with the existing vapor compression cooler. However, it is not easy to design the optimal thermoelectric cooler which appropriate to the application because the thermal analysis should be necessary required. Accordingly, this paper studies the methodology of the modelling, sizing and thermal analysis of the thermoelectric cooler using SINDA/FLUINT analysis tool.
배전계통 HIF 아크 모델 분석 및 직접 적분법 적용 방법론에 대한 연구

In distribution system, to enhance the reliability of a HIF (High Impedance Fault) determination, it is very important to obtain the HIF model which can represent accurately the HIF' characteristics. Accordingly, in this paper, the several HIF models which are based on the arc models are reviewed, and then the characteristics of the HIF models are compared from the reviewed results. Finally, a Methodology implementing the arc model is studied based on the direct integration method.

Recently, the industrial electric customers require a digital switchgear which can improve the safety and reliability of the power supply, and the quality of electric power by on-line monitoring the electric power information based on the internet under the ubiquitous environments. Accordingly, in this paper, a industrial switch-gear prototype is designed based on the power supply method of three phase, four-line type, and then a three-phase electric management module of the digital switchgear is made for industrial electric customer system. Finally, the three-phase voltage and current measuring function of the prototype is verified from real power load test.
CART 알고리즘 기반의 의사결정트리 기법을 이용한 규칙기반 전문가 시스템 구축 방법론

To minimize the spreading effect from the events of the system, a rule-based expert system is very effective. However, because the events of the large-scale system are diverse and the load condition is very variable, it is very difficult to construct the rule-based expert system. To solve this problem, this paper studies a methodology which constructs a rule-based expert system by applying a CART(Classification and Regression Trees) algorithm based decision tree determination method to event case examples.

Based on such a trend, this paper analyzes the existing bus information system, as the basis of the results obtained, designs an experimental bus information system which is based on a computer, a zigbee communication, several line tracers.

Because of the advantages such as the zero electrical resistance effect that disappears in the vicinity of the absolute temperature and the magnetic levitation effect, the superconducting applications are being tried in a variety of fields. But, those have faced many difficulties in the practical use because of the difficulty for the realization of the superconducting critical temperature. Recently, however, because the high-temperature super conductors was discovered newly which show superconductivity more than $30^{\circ}K$, the application researches based on it are being tried in various fields. Therefore, this paper examines the possibilities and issues by surveying the high temperature superconducting applications to electrical power system.
