We proposed a negotiation model for the n:n negotiation process in the deal. The proposed model was based on the geometrical metaphor concept. We suggested also a negotiation state space using the metaphors where deals can he done conveniently and effectively. We analyzed and showed the usefulness of the model for the both parties concerned in the deal.

Current treatment strategies for levodopa-induced psychosis in advanced Parkinson's disease have had limited success. Reduction or discontinuation of levodopa and coadministration with dopamine-blocking neuroleptics may attenuate the psychotic symptoms, but these strategies are associated with worsening of parkinsonian symptoms. Administration of 5-HT3 receptor antagonist ; ondansetron, a newer strategy to attenuate psychosis of Parkinson'disease without motor deterioration was introduced. A 41-year-old young-onset male, who was diagnosed as Parkinson's disease 7 years ago, was treated with levodopa therapy, and had levodopa-induced psychosis(delusion, hallucination, paranoid, insomnia). After trial of ondansetron, he showed improvement in the Brief Psychiatric Rating Scale(from 21 points to 9 points) in spite of increasing the dosage of levodopa. With ondansetron, we could increase the dosage of levodopa without psychotic complications(esp, hallucination), and he showed improvement in the motor fluctuation.

Background and Purpose Non-motor symptoms are common in Parkinson’s disease (PD),and are the primary cause of disability in many PD patients. Our aim in this study was to translate the origin non-motor symptoms scale for PD (NMSS), which was written in English, into Korean (K-NMSS), and to evaluate its reliability and validity for use with Korean-speaking patients with PD. Methods In total, 102 patients with PD from 9 movement disorders sections of university teaching hospitals in Korea were enrolled in this study. They were assessed using the K-NMSS,the Unified Parkinson’s Disease Rating Scale (UPDRS), the Korean version of the Mini-Mental Status Examination (K-MMSE), the Korean version of the Montgomery-Asberg Depression Rating Scale (K-MADS), the Epworth Sleepiness Scale (ESS), and Parkinson’s Disease Questionnaire 39 (PDQ39). Test-retest reliability was assessed over a time interval of 10-14 days in all but one patient. Results The K-NMSS was administered to 102 patients with PD. The internal consistency and reliability of this tool was 0.742 (mean Cronbach’s α-coefficient). The test-retest correlation reliability was 0.941 (Guttman split-half coefficient). There was a moderate correlation between the total K-NMSS score and the scores for UPDRS part I [Spearman’s rank correlation coefficient,(rS)=0.521, p<0.001] and UPDRS part II (rS=0.464, p=0.001), but there was only a weak correlation between the total K-NMSS score and the UPDRS part III score (rS=0.288, p=0.003). The total K-NMSS score was significantly correlated with the K-MADS (rS=0.594, p<0.001), KMMSE (rS=-0.291, p=0.003), and ESS (rS=0.348, p<0.001). The total K-NMSS score was also significantly and positively correlated with the PDQ39 score (rS=0.814, p<0.001). Conclusions The K-NMSS exhibited good reliability and validity for the assessment of nonmotor symptoms in Korean PD patients.

Department of Neurology, Korea University College of MedicineBackgroud : The data on the relationship between Parkinson‘s disease and stroke have been inconsistent; some showed a reduced risk of stroke in Parkinson’s disease patient, while others showed increased risk of stroke. Method : We measured the frequency of idopathic Parkinson’s disease(IPD) in stroke patients who admitted to Korea University hospital from January 2000 to September 2002. We compared these data to those observed in Parkinson‘s disease prevalence in Ansan-city, Korea (general population study). We investigated stroke risk factors in Parkinson‘s disease patients with stroke. Result : We screened 7 patients with Parkinson’s disease with stroke among 849 stroke patients. The relative risk for IPD in stroke patients was 0.64 compared to the Dutch population-based study & 0.55 compared to prevalence in Ansan-city. Conclusion : In our study, we found lower risk for Parkinson’s disease in stroke patients as compared to general population.
