Vol.25 No.1

Smallpox and measles might be the typical epidemics through Choson Danasty. Especially Sookjong was the first king who suffered from smallpox during the period of his reign. This study was examined critically focused on the Clinical Records about Smallpox which occurred in the 9th year of Sookjong's reign. The clinical records in Seungjeongwon Ilgi("承政院日記") was the main source and the Annals of the Joseon Dynasty was reffered. It tells us that Sookjong caught infectious disease, smallpox spread in town and the whole process of smallpox. Seungmagalgeuntang(升麻葛根湯) and hwadoktang(火毒湯) were given at the early term for treating Sookjong's smallpox, but later on, Bowontang(補元湯) was given for the treatment of smallpox. It showed us the medical view which placed emphasis on the vital force of human body. A dermatologist, Yoo Sang had joined since the beginning of the treatment and Siyakchung(侍藥廳) was established for Sookjong. Sasunghoichuntang(四聖回天湯) which was Chunyoohyung(全有亨)'s prescription showed us enough clinical experience and the ways of treatments. At the same time, the medical culture at that time was well known through the fact that smallpox was taboo among the royal family.

        醫人 黃子厚 인물 연구

        고대원(Dae-Won Ko),김남일(Namil Kim),차웅석(Woongseok Cha) 한국의사학회 2010 한국의사학회지 Vol.23 No.2

The early Joseon era was a period when various medical systems were established and many medical literatures were published. Hwang Ja-hu(黃子厚) was a civil minister and medical professional who worked hard for maintaining government administrative system and medical regime during the Taejong and Sejong reign. Hwang Ja-hu followed his father and made MiReukWon(彌勒院) prosperous for the homeless people around Chungcheong-do Hoedeok. Hwang Ja-hu was talented in policy development as a government official. He was also learned in medicine, thus always doubled as head of JeonUiGam(典醫監). Hwang Ja-hu reformed the irrationalities in medical regime. He legalized JeonUiGam duties such as the presenting of the medicine or the preparation of the medicine and had the doctors take charge. He also suggested training acupuncture specialists(鍼灸專門醫). Hwang Ja-hu played a leading role in spreading HyangYak(鄕藥) throughout the country and reissuing [HyangYakGuGeupBang(鄕藥救急方)] due to personal philanthropism and service. He tried to defeat illnesses by letting the common people understand the symptoms and use medicine accordingly. Also he intended [HyangYakGuGeupBang(鄕藥救急方)] which was written focused on ‘easiness book’(簡易方), ‘experience book’(經驗方) to be used for the common people because [HyangYakJipSungBang(鄕藥集成方)] was made up a huge volume and used for training medical professionals and for accumulating knowledge. Hwang Ja-hu pursed subdivision of medical systems and specialization of medicine but also promoted medical rights. We should continue to discover and introduce medical figures who understood medicine and improved the medical systems.

『향약구급방』에 나타난 침구법과 외치법의 내용과 특징에 대한 고찰

고대원 ( Dae Won Ko ),차웅석 ( Woong Seuk Cha ) 경락경혈학회 2010 Korean Journal of Acupuncture Vol.27 No.4

Objective: HangYak and GuGeupBang were used as a book title in 『HangYakGuGeupBang』. Therefore we can examine the early years of the medical of HangYak and the medical of first-aid. Methods: We studied the contents and the characteristics of Acupuncture and External treatments which were presented in 『HangYakGuGeupBang』. We searched the practical meaning of the publishing it too. According to 『HangYakGuGeupBang』. Results: Acupuncture was performed as a simple external treatment; however moxibustion was used for various symptoms in several ways. In addition, many external treatments such as hot massages, the treatment of bath and dropping lotion in the eyes were introduced in 『HangYakGuGeupBang』. We believe that these materials were easily gotten around us so people who lived in a poor and remote village without a doctor could apply with ease if they learned these contents. Conclusions: As a result it can say that 『HangYakGuGeupBang』 was published as a practical book which could be used simply even though people didn`t have enough medical knowledge nor examined inside and outside-heat and cold.

Objectives : King Hyojong (1619-1659) was the 17th king of the Joseon Dynasty. He was on the throne from 1649 to 1659. The king was a center of state rule in ancient times. This meant that the physical and mental status of a king was very confidential information. In the royal court of Joseon Korea, the treatment process for the king had to be performed under the surveillance of close associates, and this whole process had to be recorded by the official secretary. This is the reason that I referred to the Daily Records of Royal Secretariat of Joseon Dynasty. Methods : Relevant articles were extracted from Daily Records of Royal Secretariat of Joseon Dynasty and analyzed according to the main arguments of this paper. Some other related sources were referred in terms of King Hyojong`s ailments and treatments. Results & Conclusions : King Hyojong suffered from various diseases during his time on the throne. Fever was the most frequent ailment; he also often had diarrhea followed by poor appetite. I assume that he must have suffered from diabetes considering his ailments. Additionally, his final treatment records clearly show that his ailments were similar to diabetic complications.

Error Correction by Redundant Bits in Constant Amplitude Multi-code CDMA

        송희근,김성만,김범곤,김동석,고대원,김용철,Song, Hee-Keun,Kim, Sung-Man,Kim, Bum-Gon,Kim, Tong-Sok,Ko, Dae-Won,Kim, Yong-Cheol The Korea Institute of Information and Commucation 2006 韓國通信學會論文誌 Vol.31 No.11C

In this paper, we present two methods of correcting bit errors in constant amplitude multi-code (CAMC) CDMA, which uses the redundant bits only. The first method is a parity-based bit correction with hard-decision, where the received signals despread into n two-dimensional structure with both horizontal parity and vertical parity. Then, an erroneous bit is corrected for each $4{\times}4$ pattern. The second method is a turbo decoding, which is modified from the decoding of a single parity check product code (SPCPC). Experimental results show that, in the second method, the redundant bits in CAMC can be fully used for the error correction and so they are not really a loss of channel bandwidth. Hence, CAMC provides both a low peak-to-average power ratio and robustness to bit errors.
