Science textbooks describe inquiry processes and activities according to the 7th National Highschool Science Curriculum. But teaching activities including inquiry processes, discussions, experiments, and investigations according the subjects of studying are not covered clearly. This causes a problem that the inquiry processes and activities in textbooks don’t match correctly with the inquiry attributes guided by the present curriculum. Given the situation, this study provides a comparative analysis on how closely the inquiry elements in science education are matched with the present high school biology textbooks. Six categories of Biology Ⅰ·Ⅱtextbooks edited under the 7th National Curriculum are selected for this analysis. The analysis result shows only very small percentage of textbooks qualifies the suggestion of inquiry processes and activity titles. Inquiry title founded as the most inappropriate element is 'experiment'. There is no case which fits in the standard of the science curriculum. Therefore it is necessary to find out how the attributes of inquiry elements defined in the curriculum can be reflected appropriately. The result also shows there is small difference on the frequency of using the inquiry elements among textbooks, so interactive communications among textbook makers are needed to prevent disparity of those elements among textbooks.
The purpose of this study is to answer if a creative individual, such as an actor, can learn the Story Theater’s creative process. When the actor actively creates a play, s/he can rediscover the meaning of ‘actor-creator’. Through the Story Theater, the researcher was able to discover the difficulty of freely engaging with the audience .I began contemplating what prevents actors from being free on stage. I desired to participate in the Story Theater to learn the entire process of creating a play as an actor. I want the actors to be able to create an environment where they could be most confident, joyful, and fully express themselves. First, I wanted to focus on ‘character trans formation’ which is the foundation of expression in Story Theater. In the Story Theater, where imagination and transformation heavily dominates, we can observe instant character transformation. At that moment of transformation, the magic of imagination is created through theatrical promise. At this time, the actor, playing the character, must actively display creativity with shameless confidence. In addition, the actor should exist in a very spontaneous and proactive state as the subject of expression, not as a tool of expression. Also, we cannot overlook the fact that through the transformation, the actor is able to joyfully engage with the audience. To do that, the actor must have a creative mind. This makes the actor have an active attitude which produces positive results. In conclusion, with the Story Theater, the actor must not only have an active attitude but also exist as a “creator-actor”.
