This paper examines the design feasibility of cage aquaculture coexistent with an offshore wind farm in the southwestern sea of South Korea. Among the many types of fish farms, 2 × 3 cage aquaculture was selected for the investigation and the initial design including mooring lines, bridles, etc. was drawn with iterative numerical simulations using Orcaflex. Experimental campaigns were conducted to validate the numerical results, and they were found to be in good agreement with the experiments. Using a validated numerical model, the tension of mooring lines and the deformed volumes of the facility were examined under given operating and survival conditions. The validated model will be further used to investigate various aspects of the cage farm design for design optimization.
점토지반에서 하중특성 및 연결보조건에 따른 송전철탑용 연결형 말뚝기초의 특성 분석

The differential settlement between the foundations cause the critical damage on the transmission tower constructed in soft ground. Connected-pile foundation for transmission tower structures is an option to prevent the differential settlement, it is consist of main foundations and connection beams that are placed between the individual foundations at each corner of tower. In this study, 24 model pile load tests were conducted at a construction site in jeonlabuk-do to investigate the effects of the connection beams on transmission tower foundation. In the model tests, the various load conditions and connection beam conditions considered to the model load tests. As the test results, the displacements of connected-pile foundation differed with load directions. The settlements of connected-pile foundation decreased with the increase stiffness of connection beams, lateral load capacity decreased with load height, and the lateral load capacityon the failure criteria were similar regardless of load direction.
점토지반에 근입된 송전철탑 연결형 기초의 거동 특성 및 지지력결정을 위한 파괴기준

본 연구에서는 점토지반에 근입된 송전철탑 연결형 기초를 대상으로 모형수평재하시험을 수행하고, 연결형 기초의 파괴기준을 제안하였다. 본 연구를 위해 전라북도 익산에 위치한 점토지반에서 연결형 기초의 모형수평재하시험을 수행하였으며, 연결형 기초의 하중-변위특성을 분석하였다. 본 실험을 위해, 강성의 변화를 고려할 수 있는 연결형 기초 모형체를 제작하였으며, 요소 및 기초전반의 거동을 파악하기 위하여 다양한 계측장치를 설치하여 실험을 수행하였다. 실험결과를 토대로, 연결형 기초의 지지력을 측정하고 비교 분석하였으며, 수평지지력 결정을 위한 파괴기준을 제안하였다.

In this study, experimental analysis was performed about lateral load capacity and behavior of laterally loaded-bored rigid piles in muti-layered soil conditions. Lateral pile load tests were performed for muti-layerd soils consisting of different relative density. Ultimated lateral load capacities were measured from lateral load-displacement curves and compared with estimated values using theoretical methods. Bending moments and unit lateral capacity distribution of surrounding piles were measured from attached strain gauges and earth pressure sensors on the pile. It was found that ultimated lateral load capacities were different from the muti-layered soil conditions, and measured values were lower than estimated values. The bending moment distributions of the pile were similar all the time. Unit lateral capacity distributions were a little different from muti-layered soil conditions, but basically similar to the distribution proposed by Prasad and Chari (1999).
송전용 철탑기초의 현장수평재하시험을 통한 연결형 말뚝기초의 거동 및 지지력특성

연약지반에 시공되는 송전철탑의 경우 말뚝기초가 주로 사용되나, 부등침하로 인한 철탑구조물의 손상이 유발될 수 있으며, 이에 따라 미국과 일본에서는 4각의 기초를 연결보로 연결한 연결형 기초의 사용을 추천하고 있다. 본 연구에서는 송전철탑에 작용하는 하중조건과 연결보의 강성조건이 연결형 말뚝기초의 수평거동에 미치는 영향을 조사하기 위해서 1/8 규모의 축소모델을 이용한 연결형 말뚝기초의 수평재하시험을 수행하였다. 본 시험결과 연결형 기초는 말뚝기초에 비하여 지지력이 크고 부등변위등의 송전철탑의 안전성을 저해하는 요인에 저항하는 효율적인 기초 형식인 것으로 나타났으며, 특히 연결보의 상대강성에 따른 효과를 분석한 결과 연결보의 강성이 매트의 강성대비 25%에서 연결형 기초의 형식으로 사용의 효율성이 좋은 것으로 나타났다.
사질토 지반에 설치된 마이크로파일의 설치간격 및 설치각도에 따른 압축거동특성

Micropile technology has evolved continuously since its instruction by Fernando Lizzi in the 1950s. The effectsof group micropile have been researched by many researchers. The effects of group micropile differ and changewith pile length, pile spacing (S), pile angle (θ) and pile embedded conditions. In the present study, the effectsof resistance increase and settlement reduction from micropiles were investigated through a series of axial load tests. For the study, axial load tests were performed using mat, group micropiles and micropiled-raft (MPR) in variouspile spacing and pile angle conditions. As the result, the effects of resistance of micropiled-raft were 80% (3D)to 110% (7D) of the total resistance of mat and group micropile. The effects of settlement restraint of micropiled-raftwere 20% (S=3D, θ=45°) to 70% (7D,θ=15°) of settlement of mat foundation.

Pile foundation for transmission tower constructed in weak ground can cause the damage of the tower due to the different settlement between the foundations. In Japan and USA, connected-pile foundations whose 4 foundations are connected each other by beams were used for transmission tower (TEPCO 1988, IEEE 2001). Resistance increasing factor for connected-pile foundation signify increasing amount of resistance due to the effect of connected-pile material. In this study, we performed model lateral load tests of connected-pile foundations for transmission tower and found the resistance increasing factors for connected-pile foundation. The tests were performed in silty clay, the resistance increasing factors were founded in various conditions that lateral load directions and height, the stiffness of beams in the connected-pile foundations were changed. The resistance increasing factors from our research were presented as a function of normal lateral loading height and normal stiffness of the connected-pile material. The resistances which were estimated from the resistance increasing factors were similar to measured values.

The micropile is small diameter pile foundation of which diameter is below 300 mm. This system has been appliedto reinforce the foundation structure. In the present study, the effects of embedded conditions of group micropiles wereinvestigated from a series of uplift load tests. For the study, uplift load tests were performed using group micropilesin various pile spacing and installation angle. The increase of uplift resistance and the reduction of uplift displacementwere investigated in the tests. As the result, the resistances were principally changed by embedded pile angle, theresistance increase were 33%, 59% and 5% for 15°, 30° and 45° of embedded pile angle. The uplift displacementreduction increases with lower pile spacing condition and the reduction ratios of uplift displacements in the same spacingcondition were 50%, 53%, -45% for 15°, 30° and 45° of embedded pile angle.
조밀한 사질토지반에서 경사로 설치된 그룹 마이크로파일의 인발지지력 평가방법

In the present study, uplift load carrying behavior of micropiles with installation angle and pile spacing was investigatedbased on uplift load tests using single and group micropiles. In addition, evaluation methods of uplift load carryingcapacity of group micropiles were proposed based on FHWA (2005) and Madhav (1987) and they were compared withtest results to confirm the validity of proposed methods. From the test results, uplift load carrying capacities of singleand group micropiles increased with the increase of the installation angle up to 30°, whose values also increased slightlywith increasing pile spacing. For the proposed method based on FHWA (2005), the estimated values were similar tomeasured values up to 15° of installation angle and 5D of pile spacing. For the proposed method based on Madhav(1987), on the other hand, it was observed that the estimated values were in good agreement with measured valuesin all installation conditions.
