Investigation of Cariogenic Effects of Commercial Sports Drinks by HPLC Analysis
강종오,장종화 대한예방치과학회 2013 International Journal of Clinical Preventive Denti Vol.9 No.4
Objective: In this study, the contents of organic acids and sugars which can cause demineralization of tooth were measured in sports drinks, and predict the cariogenic potential of sports drinks, high-caffeined carbonated beverages. Methods: The organic acids were determined by polar-endcapped reversed phase chromatography and UV 210 detection, and sugars were determined by anion-exchange chromatography with pulsed amperometric detection. After drinking a sports drinks, the salivary concentration of citric acid were determined according to the elapse time. Results: The total organic acid concentration range of sports drinks were 0.61-2.22 g/L, and total sugar concentration range were 20.09-139.87 g/L. After drinking sports drinks, the citric acid was decreased to 1 g/L at 5 min after drinking, and dis- appeared at 15 min after drinking. Conclusion: The ingredient of sports drinks can cause hardness loss of enamel. It is considered important to caution on the danger of sports drinks and to care oral health after sports drinks intake.
치과의료 서비스품질요인과 환자만족도와 추천지수 (NPS)와의 연관성
강종오 대한통합치과학회 2020 대한통합치과학회지 Vol.9 No.1
The purpose of this study is as for the relationship between variables affecting dental patients’ satisfaction and NPS (Net Promoter Score), to improve the quality of dental care service and positive marketing of the dental clinic. A total of 287 patients were selected through random sampling from dental clinics in Seoul, Gyeonggi-do city. The data were analyzed by SPSS Statistics 22.0, t-test and one way ANOVA, Pearson correlation and multiple regression analysis. The dental facilities factors, human service factors, dental treatment process factors are related patients’ satisfaction (p<0.001). Service quality value was significantly positively correlated with NPS (r=0.687, p<0.001). The staff’s kindness was the largest factor affecting the patients’ satisfaction (β=.380, p<0.001). The satisfactory service factors was accounted for 70.2% of NPS. Conclusionally, factors affected NPS were staff’s kindness, specialization of the dentist, physical environment, response of dental hygienist to patient, convenience dental care process. Therefore, it is necessary to promote dental facilities, professionalism of dentist and dental hygienist, staff’s kindness, dental treatment process for qualitative dental care service.

Objectives. The purpose of this study was to help ensure smooth and efficient internal communication among dentists, dental hygienists and dental laboratories in dental clinics and hospitals in an effort to boost their job satisfaction and the satisfaction of patients with dental services. Methods. The subjects in this study were the dentists and dental hygienists in 380 dental clinics and hospitals that registered with Korean Dental Association and were selected by stratified random sampling from Seoul, Incheon and Gyeonggi Province in consideration of the number of dental institutions located in the regions. A survey was conducted from December, 2008, to March, 2009, by male, by fax and in person. The response rate stood at 60.2 percent. The answer sheets from 430 participants who included 201 dentists and 229 dental hygienists were analyzed with a SPSS 12.0 program. Results. As for the level of smooth communication in the dental treatment room and the amount of efforts for that, the dental hygienists took a slightly better view than the dentists (p=0.019). Many of dentists who tried to have smooth communication in the dental treatment room pointed out a lot of conversation as the best effort for that (47.4%), and lots of the dental hygienists stressed the same as well (70.1%). In regard to the relationship of age to the level of smooth communication in dental laboratories and the amount of efforts for that, the dentists (p=0.005) and dental hygienists (p=0.001) who were at the age of 40 and up had the highest opinions. Conclusions. The departments of dentistry and dental hygiene should offer courses on medical communication and internal communication in dental clinics and hospitals to provide education about communication skills, and related teaching methods and teaching aids should be developed to improve the communicative competency of dental personnels.

Recently in accordance with the rapid development of the industrial society, the accidents caused by dielectric breakdown have been increasing in power grid. It is important to prevent the dielectric breakdown of a high voltage apparatus to reduce the damage from electrical hazards. To establish an electrically reliable database of insulation design criteria for high voltage apparatus, a study on dielectric characteristics test is indispensable. In this study, dielectric characteristics according to field utilization factors (ξ) which are represented as the ratio of mean electric field to maximum electric field are investigated. the dielectric breakdown experiments by using several kinds of electrode systems made with stainless steel are performed by AC breakdown voltage under air-insulation. Also, the experimental results are analyzed by the Weibull distribution. As a result, it is found that the dielectric characteristics of air-insulation are determined by ξ as well as arrangement of electrode systems. It is considered that the results of this study would be applicable to designing the air-insulated high voltage apparatuses.
Electromagnetic Characteristics of the Superconducting Magnets for the 28-GHz ECR Ion Source
이홍석,강종오,강형구,허정일,최석진,김용환,홍종기 한국물리학회 2015 THE JOURNAL OF THE KOREAN PHYSICAL SOCIETY Vol.66 No.3
Many laboratories have been involved in the development of electron cyclotron resonance (ECR)ion source for linear accelerators all over the world. The superconducting magnets for the 28-GHzECR ion source consist of a Hexapole Coil and four Solenoid Coils. The Solenoid Coils produce anaxial mirror magnetic field, and the Hexapole Coil produces a radial magnetic field. In this paper, the specifications of the superconducting magnets for the 28-GHz ECR ion source are deduced byusing the finite-element method (FEM) to perform simulations. The research presents the resultof analyses on the magnetic field and the electromagnetic force of the superconducting magnets forthe ECR ion source for different the conditions of the Inner Yokes. The design of the Inner Yokesfor a Hexapole Coil is performed to enhance the characteristics of the radial magnetic field and tolower the operating current level.
Effect of Mouthrinse Containing Propolis on Oral Malodor
김기은,강종오,박용덕 대한예방치과학회 2014 International Journal of Clinical Preventive Denti Vol.10 No.3
Objective: Mouthrinse has been very popular as it is easy to use and more products reflecting consumers’ needs are commerciallyavailable, however, chemical agents in mouthrinse might have side effects when they are used in long term. Theaim of this study was to compare mouthrinse containing essential oil and mouthrinse containing propolis in the effects on reductionof oral malodor and screen if propolis can be used as mouthrinse to reduce oral malodor. Methods: Sixty Subjects without any oral diseases were randomly selected after interviews and preliminary examinations, mouthrinses were distributed to them. PROPOLIS LIQUID (0.15%; Nature’s Bio Technology Pty Ltd., Australia) was dilutedwith distilled water for the positive control group and Listerine zeroⓇ was used for the negative control group. They were requestedto use 15 ml of mouthrinses twice a day, after breakfast and dinner, for 1 minute and oral malodor was measured usingOral ChromaⓇ (Abilit Co., Japan) after 1 week. Results: In the positive control group used mouthrinse containing propolis had significantly lower level of hydrogen sulfide, methyl mercaptan and dimethyl sulfide than the baseline and same results were obtained in the negative control group. Conclusion: Mouthrinse containing propolis has same effects on reducing oral malodor as mouthrinse containing essentialoil, also, considering it has few side effects, it can be used daily mouthrinse.
