        음악전공 여대생의 부적응적 완벽주의와 연주불안의 관계에서 수치심의 매개효과 검증

        The purpose of this study was to reveal psychological variables which were related with music performance anxiety for performers whose ability is not fully shown on the stage. Focusing on a perfectionism including higher expectation of performance and a fear from the evaluations of others, the current study revealed relations among perfectionism, shame, and music performance anxiety (MPA). A survey was conducted to 384 female students whose major were instrumental music at universities in Seoul and Kyunggi-do. Associations among three variables were examined through a correlation analysis. The mediational effect of shame on the relation between perfectionism and MPA was evaluated by structural equation modeling (SEM). The current study concluded followings: MPA showed negative relation with maladaptive perfectionism, and shame fully mediated the association between maladaptive perfectionism and performance anxiety. Implications of MPA and future research are discussed. 본 연구는 무대 위에서 제 기량을 다하지 못하는 연주자들의 연주불안과 그에 관련된 심리적 변인들을 밝힘으로써 음악 연주자들에 대한 상담의 시사점을 얻고자 하였다. 특히 수행에 대한 높은 기준과 타인의 평가에 대한 두려움의 속성을 지니는 완벽주의에 초점을 두고, 완벽주의, 수치심과 연주불안 간의 관계를 알아보고자 하였다. 이를 위해 서울 및 수도권 소재 4년제 음악대학에 재학 중인 여대생 386명을 대상으로, 전공은 연주경험이 있는 기악 전공으로 구성하였다. 세 변인간의 관계를 상관분석을 통해 검토하였으며, 그 결과를 토대로 완벽주의와 연주불안의 관계에서 수치심의 매개효과를 구조방정식 모형검증을 통해 검증하였다. 주요 연구결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 연주불안과 다른 변인들과의 상관을 알아본 결과, 연주불안은 부적응적 완벽주의와는 부적으로 유의한 관계를 나타냈으며, 수치심과는 정적으로 유의한 관계인 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 두 변인에 대한 수치심의 매개모형을 분석한 결과, 부적응적 완벽주의와 연주불안의 관계에서 수치심은 완전매개변인으로 작용하는 것이 확인되었다. 이러한 연구결과를 바탕으로 연주불안의 실제에 대한 시사점과 후속연구를 위한 제언을 논의하였다.

        Korean EFL Learners' Use of Tense and Tense Alternating Strategies in English Oral Discourse

        The present study aims to examine Korean EFL learners’ ability to achieve discourse cohesion in English through appropriate use of tense and utilization of tense alternating strategies, and how the language-specific aspects of tense system in their L1 may be evident in their L2 performance. Analyses examine oral narratives produced by Korean adult EFL learners (N=12) in L1 (Korean) and L2 (English) and adult American native English speakers (N=12), using “frog story” picturebook prompt. Quantitative analyses of the narratives highlighted the overall difficulties Korean EFL learners may have in establishing and maintaining an anchor tense in an extended oral discourse. Qualitative discourse analysis revealed that although the native English speakers’ and Korean EFL learners’ tense alternating strategies in their L1s were motivated by similar thematic and stylistic purposes, the Koreans were not able to transfer such discourse skills from their L1 to L2, thus failing to enact discourse functions through effective use of tense alternating strategies as they did in their L1 discourse. The findings from this study hold important implications for helping Korean EFL learners develop pragmatic skills in English oral extended discourse

        Prediction of Korean EFL Learners’ English Reading Comprehension Abilities: An Examination of the Simple View of Reading

        This study investigated whether the simple view of reading framework is supported among upper elementary Korean EFL learners. Specifically, the relative contributive power of two emergent literacy factors, word decoding and linguistic comprehension abilities, which have been identified as the main determinants of successful reading comprehension, was examined. Ninety nine fifth grade students in Korean elementary school participated in this research, and their decoding skills, listening comprehension abilities, and reading comprehension in English were measured. The findings revealed that both English decoding skills and linguistic comprehension ability were significant predictors of their English reading comprehension, which supports the simple view of reading within the Korean EFL context. Specifically, decoding skill explained more of the variance, compared to linguistic comprehension, in reading comprehension when controlling for each other. The result is discussed in terms of the overall development of L2 proficiency and the role of L2 exposure in L2 reading comprehension development.

        Does the Simple View of Reading Explain Korean Elementary EFL Learners’ Reading Comprehension?

        Num erous studies have supported the simple view of reading by showing the significant predictive roles of oral language comprehension abilit y and decoding skills in the r e ading comprehension of monolinguals and second language learners. However, little is known about its applicability to young foreign language learners who do not have much access to the target language and literac y input outside the school and esp e cially t h ose whose first and second language s are typologically different. Th is study was designed to examine the contribution of English oral language comprehension abilit y and decoding skills to the read ing comprehension of fifth grade Korean EFL learne r s. In do i ng so, the indirect effects of oral language abi lit y and phonological awareness were also considered , and English reading fluency and Korean reading comprehension abilities were controll ed for . The findings not only support the simple view of rea d ing but a lso highlight the indirect effects of oral lang uage comprehension abilit y and phonological awareness on reading comprehension abilities via the effects of decoding skills.

      • 협동학습 구조에 의한 사회적 기술 향상 프로그램이 초등학교 저학년 아동에게 미치는 영향

        본 연구는 아동 상호간의 사회적 상호작용의 기회를 풍부히 제공하는 협동학습 구조에 의한 사회적 기술향상 프로그램이 초등학교 저학년 아동의 사회적 기술 향상에 미치는 효과를 알아보는데 그 목적이 있다. 이를 위해 서울특별시에 소재한 S초등학교 2학년 1학급 22명의 아동에게 협동학습 구조에 의한 사회적 기술 향상 프로그램을 5주간 주 2회씩 총 10회 실시하여 사회적 기술 점수를 측정하였다. 본 연구의 결과, 협동학습 구조에 의한 사회적 기술 향상 프로그램은 사회적 기술의 하위요인 중 협동성, 주장성, 공감, 자기조절에 효과가 있는 것으로 나타났다. 본 연구를 통해서 볼 때, 교사들은 사회적 기술의 중요성을 인식하고 그에 따른 적절한 프로그램을 제작하는 등 체계적이고 다양한 교수·학습을 전개하는 방안을 모색하여 가는 것이 바람직하며, 초등학교 현장에서 협동학습 구조에 의한 사회적 기술 향상 프로그램은 아동의 사회적 기술 발달을 위한 효과적인 교육적 방법으로 활용될 수 있다는 시사점을 얻을 수 있다.

        Decoding Skills vs. Reading Fluency in Korean High School EFL Learners’ Reading Comprehension

        Despite the general understanding of the prominent role of basic reading sub-skills, such as decoding abilities and reading fluency, in the reading comprehension of younger and proficient first and second language readers, little is known about the role of these skills in older and less skilled readers in foreign language contexts. The present study was designed to investigate how decoding skills and reading fluency relate to the reading comprehension of such readers, and to identify the relative strengths between the two. Two hundred twenty two Korean high school students participated, and their performance on decoding, reading fluency, and reading comprehension tasks was analyzed. The results showed that both decoding skills and reading fluency were strongly correlated to reading comprehension. Moreover, between the two fundamental reading sub-skills, decoding skills outperformed reading fluency in explaining reading comprehension, making a unique contribution beyond the effects of reading fluency. These findings suggest that a basic skill like word decoding still deserves instructional attention even at the secondary schools in EFL contexts.

        『필레보스』를 통해 본 소크라테스의 엘렌코스

        I argue that Socrates’ elenchus is the method for the philosophical inquirywhich is to answer the “what is F-ness question.” The whole purpose ofelenchus should be considered in the circumstance where Socrates and hisinterlocutor succeed in investigating the asked question, and Philebus is theone it happens. So I analyze the texts in Philebus, unlike other works thatfocus on its ethical value by showing how elenchus “enlightens” Socrates’interlocutors through refuting his inconsistent belief system. First, I find “what is F-ness question” in Philebus in order to show thatthe method in Philebus can be considered with regards to the method inSocratic dialogues. I argue that, though it is not the exact form of “what isF-ness question”, it resides in the question for the dialectic inquiry. Then Ishow that elenchus is working in every step as the inquiry between Socratesand his good interlocutor Protarchus starts: it is indeed working at every levelof the method of hypothesis as well as the method of collection and division. 이 논문에서 나는 소크라테스의 엘렌코스가 검증의 역할을 수행하는 진리탐구의 한 방법이며, 비단 윤리의 영역에서 뿐만 아니라 지식을 획득할수 있는 모든 영역에 있어서 사용되는 탐구방법임을 주장한다. 소크라테스의 엘렌코스에 대한 논의는 대부분 플라톤의 초기 대화편에 한정하여 이루어지지만,나는 『필레보스』를 통해 엘렌코스의 목적을 밝혀야만 한다고 주장한다. 엘렌코스를 진지한 탐구방법으로 보지 않는 해석은 엘렌코스가 탐구에 성공하지 못하고 아포리아에 빠져버리는 대화상황만을 고려했기 때문인데, 『필레보스』에서는인간에게 좋은 것이 무엇인지에 대한 탐구가 성공한 경우에 엘렌코스가 쓰인것을 볼 수 있기 때문이다. 엘렌코스는 언제나 ‘ti esti 물음’에서 시작하는 탐구와 동시에 작동하며, 소크라테스는 상대방을 논박하는 데에 관심이 있는 것이아니라 프로타르코스라는 좋은 대화상대자와 함께 대화를 잘 이어나가 탐구를수행하기를 원한다는 점, 그리고 실제로 이들이 변증술을 통해 성공적으로 탐구를 이행하게 된다는 점을 들어 나는 이 방법이 진리탐구를 목적으로 한다고 주장한다.

        Evaluation of Contact Lens Care Regimens in Removing Tear Lipids on Silicone Hydrogel Lens

        Purpose: An in vitro study was conducted to compare the lipid cleaning efficacy of care solutions on balafilcon A silicone hydrogel (SiHy) lens. Methods: Lipid spoilation was performed by incubating balafilcon A SiHy lenses in phosphate buffered saline (PBS) containing oleic acid, oleic acid methyl ester and cholesterol. Spoiled contact lenses rinsed with PBS were cleaned with surfactant cleaner, alcohol containing cleaner and multipurpose solution (MPS) respectively and repetitive spoilation and cleaning was conducted up to 14 times. To observe the cleaning effect of ultrasonic wave on the lipid deposit, each spoiled lens was ultrasonicated and then compared with non-sonicated lens. Lipids deposit on the contact lenses was extracted by methanol:chloroform (1:1, v/v) solution. High performance liquid chromatography was used to analyze and quantify lipid deposit extracts. Results: The effectiveness of alcohol containing surfactant cleaner on the lipid deposits was better than that of surfactant cleaner and MPS, and the cleaning efficacy was significantly higher in the ultrasonic wave treated group. Lipid deposits were not removed completely by contact lens care solutions so that lipid deposits increased continuously and cumulatively. Conclusions: The cleaning efficacy of contact lens care solutions was not satisfactory to remove lipid deposits on the SiHy lens that new cleaning products specially designed for SiHy lenses are needed to develop.
