        The performance of vertical and horizontal tubes with multiple fins of rectangular and triangular cross section was investigated theoretically for boiling heat transfer. A simple method for numerical program assuming one-dimensional heat flow was used to predict the performance of these finned tubes and their bundles. The object of the new study was to develop optimum fin design, especially in tube bundles, considering from a viewpoint to minimize the space in which the maximum heat flux density was expected.

        초산훼닐수은의 Polarography

        Organic mercurial fungicides, for seed treatments and dust formulations, has been increasingly used by farmers. Evaluation of the purity of organic mercurial fungicides has been performed by precipitation method at this laboratory. There are several methods for the an alyses of organic mercuric formulation, among which are (1) Precipitation met hod, (2) Volatilization method, (3) Volumetric method, and (4) Dithizon method. These methods, however, show some deffects in specificity (differentiation of organic form) and quantitativity. Polarography applied for the estimation of phenyl mercuric acetate was found to be simple, rapid and accurate. Tile fundamental method of polarography arid accuracy of analysis are discussed statistically and and a satisfactory results was obtained.

      • MIST COOLING에 對한 硏究

        Boiling heat transfer by mist-cooling on the hot surface of a copper block was investigated experimentally. The droplets were produced by twin fluid nozzle and the surface of copper block is heated by exetric rod heater and cooled by subcooled water(T_sub=90℃) The average velocities based on volme flow rate of experimentals were 100㏄/min, 150㏄/min and 200㏄/min respectively. And the spray distances were 100㎜, 150㎜ and 200㎜ and the spray pressures were 3.0㎏/㎠, 4.0㎏/㎠ and 5.0㎏/㎠ respectively. Heat fluxes were calculated from the temperature of test secton by using the extrapolation based on the finite differential equation of heat conduction.(q=λ․△T/△X|_x=0) Boiling curves of mist-cooling systems obtained by unsteady heating method were similar to a pool boiling curve but nucleate boiling regime was increased. It was found that the maximum heat flux and heat transfer coefficient increased with increase in the volume velocity, whereas the maximum heat flux decreased with increase in spray distance.

      • 鑄鐵의 ARC熔接과 熔接龜裂에 關하여

        As it is hard to joint cast iron by the shielded metal are welding, many efforts are concentrated in developing its weldability. The difficult point in the metal are welbing is to prevent the hardening and abnormal expansion of fusion metal by a rapid cooling rate. The structure in welding point has been examined to prevent the crack after welding at the normal temperature. The results are as follows : 1) Metal are electrodes and fluxes should be controled to contain the silicon which helps carbon to become graphite and decreases the shrinkage of molten metal. 2) The slow cooling in welding point should be performed without preheating and postheating as possible.

      • 多孔式 Orifice의 單孔式 Orifice에 對한 實驗的 比較硏究 : 流量係數를 中心으로

        The orifices used as a metering device of fluid flow are for the most part the single type orifices which were standadized in JIS, DIN, and ASME. However the multi-type orifices have never been standardized yet and never used in engineering practice. There has been very little experimental work done to evaluate the practical use of it. The object of the present paper is to try experimentally to compare multi-type orifice with single type orifice with respect to engineering usefulness. For the purpose of carrying out this comparison, main emphasis was put on their discharge coefficients. In oder to evaluate their efficiencies, it is convenient to measure and compare their discharge coefficiants. The results obtained in this experiments are summarized as follows; 1; Discharge coefficient of the multi-type orifice was larger than the single type orifice, it means that the multi-type orifice gives better efficiency than the single type orifice has. 2; It is shown that undur the lower range of Reynolds Number discharge cofficient of the multi-type orifice is constant in comparison with the single type orifice.

      • Drill의 先端要素가 加工抵抗(drill壽命)에 미치는 影響

        As the drilling is the major part in the machine making process, increasing the drilling efficiency may be reasonably significant. After the study about the drill point, it is known that the web thickness, the point angle and the helix angle of a drill are important factors to increase the drilling efficiency. Through the theoritical and experimental study the following results were get, (1) It is required in drilling a strength metals that the web thickness is thick. (2) A small point angle is more benefical in drilling a mild metals, and a large point angle in drilling a strength metals, (3) A large helix angle is recommeded in drilling a tough metals, and a small helix angle in drilling a brittle metals.

      • 工作機械 主軸系의 動的特性에 關한 硏究

        The improvement of dynamic behavior of a spindle-work system in machine tool is of great importance. Some research works have been done on this problem. But the effect of bearing housing, bed, head-stock, V-belt, etc, have not been yet investigated. In this thesis, the experimental works on the dynamic characteristics of the spindle-work system in machine tool have been done. From our research works, following interest conclusions were obtained : 1. The sound level of a lathe bed with high damping materials decreases, but the damping of the spindle-work system does not increase. 2. The V-belt used in the power transmission does not oscillate the spindle. 3. The distribution of contact pressure is well affected by the height and the surface roughness of test piece. 4. The dynamic characteristics of bolting parts can be increased by inserting vinyl sheet in the joint interface, without decreasing static stiffness. 5. The dynamic characteristics of the main shaft of lathe is affected not only by damping of front bearing but also by rear bearing, and the damping of the spindle-work system is affected on the momentum direction damping of both front and rear bearings.

      • 國內 보일러(Boiler)의 妨害對策에 關한 硏究

        Examining and analyzing the obstacles taken place for eight years in our country, we summarize the causes and the counterm-easures as follows ; (A) The Causes Most accidents happened in the no-tested or nun-standized boilers, and on account of careless handling; but comparatively there were only few accidents in the tested high-pressure boilers. (B) The Counter-measures 1. The law of manufacturing, establishing and handling must be much more stricter. 2. The system testing boilers must be scientific. 3. The workers for boilers should be taught of manufacturing, establishing, handling and testing under the obligation; and their qualification improved. 4. The laws by which boilers are handled must be revised to much more stricter ones, and the present system of the liscences revised to the three kinds of them, too. 5. The time-worn boilers must be exchanged by new ones. 6. The boiler manufactory should be systemized, the facilities modernized, and the domestic production of high pressure boilers promoted.
