뮤지컬 ‘살짜기 옵서예’ 공연에 나타난 분장에 관한 연구

연구는 뮤지컬 “살짜기 옵서예”의 작품에 나타난 등장인물을 중심으로 분장의 특성을 고찰함으로써 무대분장의 개념을 정립하고, 우리나라 뮤지컬 공연에서 무대분장 분야를 좀 더 체계적으로 발전시키는데 기여하고, 이론적 측면에서 무대분장의 기초 자료를 제공하는데 그 목적이 있다. 무대분장의 이론적 개념과 성격분장의 환경적 요인인 골상학적 분류를 하였으며, 무대분장의 실증적인 작품으로서 뮤지컬 ‘살짜기 옵서예’를 중심으로 작품 분석, 주요 등장인물 성격분석과 함께 구체적인 분장디자인과 분장의 실제를 분석하였다. 다시 말해서, 분장 과정은 작품에 대한 분석을 통하고 협업을 거쳐서 완성되는 것이며, 표준화를 위한 새로운 방법을 얼굴에 각 골상부위별로 다양한 종류를 분리하여 도표화하고, 확장되는 협업과정에서 소통이 원활하게 이뤄지도록 현장 활용 기준을 제시하였다. 완벽한 작품 속의 인물을 창조하기 위해서 분장사는 대본을 충분히 읽고 등장인물의 성격을 철저히 분석한 뒤 연출자의 연출기법과 연출의도와 연기자의 성격과 분위기까지도 파악해야 하며 의상, 소품, 조명 등의 스텝들과의 긴밀한 협의를 거쳐 분장 계획서와 디자인 작업이 이루어져야 한다는 결론을 얻었다. This study is aimed to conceptualize stage makeup, make a contribution to the development of stage makeup more systematically in musical performances and provide basic data for stage makeup from a theoretical perspective after reviewing the characteristics of makeup, focusing on the characters from the musical “Sweet, Come to Me Stealthily.” The theoretical concept of stage makeup and environmental factors of character makeup were classified phrenologically. In addition, specific makeup design and reality of makeup were analyzed after analyzing the story and characters, focusing on the musical “Sweet, Come to Me Stealthily” as the empirical work of stage makeup. In other words, makeup is completed through analysis on the work and collaboration. A new method developed for standardization was diagramed by separating diverse types on a face by the part of the skull, and the practical standards were suggested for smooth communication during expanded collaboration. The study results found that to create a perfect character, a makeup artist needs to thoroughly analyze characters’ personalities after perusing the script, understand a director’s intention and direction techniques and even figure out the performers’ characteristics and emotions. Furthermore, makeup plan and design should be performed through a close discussion with the staff such as dress, accessories and lighting.
