      • 정출력 CDI 점화장치의 DC-DC Converter 설계

        This paper porposes a new circuit for the CDI system to have a constant ignition power at the cngine speed range of 500 to 7500 rpm and the battery voltage range of 12 to 16 volts in the 4cylinder automobile. The proposed CDI system has a closed-ollp with a PWM DC-DC converter controlled by the error signal between capacitor voltage and reference voltage. In order to decrease the capacitor charging time, the primary winging of ignition coil is mead to be shorted during capacitor charging. An experimental system is fabricated and the results obtained therof are found to be satisfactory.

      • CDI System 의 Self-Oscillating DC/DC Converter 의 解析

        The ignition device for automoiles is a kind of high voltage pulse generator and it has usually been an induction ignition system constructed by using mechanical elements. However, it is liable to missfire when the automobile runs at high speeds. In order to get rid of the inherent fault of those mechanical ignition systems, semiconduction elements are used in designing ignition devices. There appeared recently many kinds of Capacitive Discharge Ignition(CDI) systems with semiconductor elements and they are adopted in some automobiles. However, any exact analysis has not been performed as yet. In this paper, a Heathkit CDI model(CP-1060) is selected and its operation is analyzed precisely. As a result of theoretical and experimental analysis, the validity of analytic modeling for the DC/DC converter and its load has been proved. And it allowed us to design a modified CDI system with far better performances.

      • 車輛用 無接点式 点火裝置에 關한 硏究

        We choose the magnet detecting system of many that a ignition signal voltage can be induced in a pick-up coil by the rotation of timing rotor in distributor. As the timing rotor rotates with cam gear, the magnetic flux alternating rate changes through timing rotor-magnet-bracket-pick up coil. At this time, a detecting transistor detects the ignition signal on the pick-up coil and makes it a switching signal. This switching signal is amplified by transistors and applied to the primary of ignition coil in transistor ignition system without break point. In CDI ignition system without break point, the amplified switching signal is applied to the gate of SCR, a switching element. When a signal triggers the gate, a very high voltage appeared instantaneously in the secondary of ignition coil. A transistor and a CDI ignition circuit without point are designed respectively in fig. 6 & fig. 12. As a result of practical test on road, the CDI ignition system without break point among them presented the best running characteristics as fig. 14.

        The third harmonic current contain much at the poltransformer exciting current of 22.9KV-Y 3-phase 4wire distribution system, therefore, that misoperated groundfault protective relay and overheated main transformer. magnitude of this higher harmonic current keeps under restrict at unbalance, but that presented increase phenomenon due to electro static capacity of cable etc. We install small AC filter on the ground fault relay to prevent this misoperation. In this paper, I deal with higher harmoniㅊs occurrence phenomenon, harmonic analysis method of distribution system circuit and counter-measure of disturbance by harmonic of protection relay.

      • 放射線照射量에 따른 EPOXY樹脂의 誘電特性 變化에 關한 硏究

        Insulation aging is one of the most common cause of electrical breakdown of epoxy resin. As the quality of electrical insulator extremely decline due to the inside and outside influence, this paper presents an experimental investigation into the effect of different factors. such as temperature range from 20℃ to 70℃, frequency range from 30Hz to 30KHz on dielectric constant, dielectric constant, dielectric loss angle and infrared absorption in epoxy resin by Co_60r radiation. The results show that as increasing X-ray radiation quantity, dielectric constant is increasing and dielectricloss angle is decreasing and lattice structure of epoxy resin is not varient.

      • 容量放電式 사이리스터 点火裝置의 特性改善에 關한 硏究

        The ignition device for an automobile is a kind of high pulse voltage generator and it has conventionally been constructed by using mechanical elements. However it is apt to miss-fire when the automobile runs at high speed. In order to get rid of the inherent fault on those mechanical ignition systems, semiconductor elements are used in designing ignition device. There appears, at present, many kinds of ignition systems employed semiconductor elements. But the particular attention in this study is devoted to the analysis and design of capacitive discharge thyristor ignition system. The output voltage of the designed ignition system is up to 63KV when the primary voltage is 10 to 14 volts. The output pulse duration of the proposed design is within 600 microseconds and the peak impulse power of the device is 532 to 1000 watts. The charging time is long but the discharging time is short enough compared with the switching time of automobile system. Therefore this ignition system does not miss-fire at any speed of engine because of the high impulse output energy of this device. Furthermore the constant voltage source is applied to the converter circuit and to the thyristor gate, the stability of the capacitive discharge thyristor ignition device is improved. When this ignition system is applied to automobile system, it can be expected that the power of automobile engine is increased. the pollution exhausted from the automobile is decreased, and the life time of the electrical devices constructed in an automobile is extended.

      • EPOXY수지의 절연열화현상에 관한 연구

        As the preceding phenomena of dielectric breakdown, treeing detreioration is one of the most common cause of epoxy resin failure in service. For the purpose of texting the dielectric deterioration phenomena of the epoxy resin, we examine the dieletcric constant, dielectric loss at the several frequencies (from 30Hz to 30KHz) and temperature(from 30℃ to 110℃) and at the applied voltage 27.5Kv, and we investigate the growth of trees with the variable applide time. From the results, ⅰ) As temperature increases, dielectric constant and dielectric loss of the epoxy resin are increased. Specially, at the 70℃, increasing phenomena are remarkable. ⅱ) Frequency characteristics of dielectric constant of the epoxy resin are inactive but below the 330Hz, frequency characteristics of dielectric loss decrease powerfully. ⅲ) As applied time increases, treeing growth is more powerful and dielectric break-down of the epoxy resin has broken out at the 143 min.

      • 車輛用 油類節減器의 實用化에 關한 硏究

        Automotive fuel economizer problem is the matter of the world in energy crisis especially. The problem is more severe in our country because our country can not produce any raw petroleum. For saving petroleum and reducing automobile pollution, a fuel economizer of vehicle is an indispensable device. There are many active studies on fuel economizer of vihicle all of the world to solve the above serious problem. One of the dominant result of the studies is the development of capacitive discharge ignition(CDI)system. But the caracteristics of the CDI system have yet been getting more and more improved. In this study a CDI system is designed and tested for the practical use. 1) Area for field test For the measurement of the average rate of fuel reduction, the test car was run on the following: a) the express high way of Jeonju-Jeongeup-Kwangju-Shooncheon, Jeonju-Deajon-Cheonhju-Choongju. b) the high way of Jeonju-Goonsan. c) the pavement road of Jeonju-Namwon. 2) Testing system A car used for the measurement was the new type of Brisa('77 year type). Distance meter for the system was the attached meter to the Brisa. A stop watch made by Breiling Sprint of Swiss was used for the measurement of running hour. A fuel meter made bu Nissan Diesel Co. was used. 3) Measurement of the life of the CDI system. When an automobile electronic device is designed some kinds of special consideration are given to heat sinking, mechanical vibration and impact. All kinds of tests must be performed on thos viewpoints. The designed sustem had been tested for nine months. But any kinds of defects had not found. Following are summarized as the results for the CDI system of trial manufacture: 1) The rates of average saving fuel by using the CDI system are 60% under the speed of km/hr and 23% at the speed from 40 km/hr to 90 km/hr and 60% upper the speed of about 90 km/hr. 2) The car with the CDI system was accelerated more easily than the car without the system. 3) The life-time of spark plug and point contactor was extended by using the CDI system. 4) CO gas was exhausted from the car with the CDI system less than the car without the system.
