          Aesthetic Characteristic Study on Sportswear Uniform+ - Concentrating on Sportswear Uniform Applying Ensign Image-

          International exchange gets active in nations with the increase of Internet use and heading toward digital age. Thus the communication conveying image of nations effectively plays an important role in an international society. Sports events are regarded as important international exchange events and good opportunities for public relations of one's own country and taken as tools of planting good images in other nations. This study surveyed the concept and history of uniform through the documents and previous studies in order to find the aesthetic characteristics of sportswear uniform applying the image of national ensign and investigates the origin and start time in Korea of selected 6 sports items. As a result of finding the expression way of ensign image and drawing the aesthetic characteristics by analyzing the use and variation of ensign colors, the use of colors other than ensign and reflection of ensign form in collected 60 sports uniforms, this study could draw the symbolical beauty, beauty of variation and beauty of brevity. First, symbolical beauty is the aesthetic characteristics expressing uniforms by using the pattern ensign symbolizes and ensign colors themselves or enlarging a part of ensign. Second, beauty of variation is the aesthetic characteristics creating geometrical new patterns in uniform through the distortion and exaggeration of ensign shape, or transforming the colors themselves of ensign. Third, beauty of brevity is the aesthetic characteristics using other colors only as decorative factor while applying the main colors of ensign to the most part of uniform, or unifying the uniforms with only one color of ensign. As a result of survey, the proportion of the symbolical beauty was highest in summer season and beauty of brevity and beauty of variation followed and the proportion of beauty of variation was highest and the symbolical beauty and beauty of brevity followed after that in winter season. This study found the way of expressing image of one's own country in sports uniform through this article, expecting the exact recognition on sports uniform and the diversity of sports uniform design in which the images of the nation are expressed more variously.           The purpose of this thesis is to suggest the new orientalism fashion through the comprehensive approach to analyze the art of the Tang dynasty, China. Tang dynasty has high culture, economy, polity and art. Also the character of Tang`s culture is very international. Therefore that point is coincide with fusion culture in the early 2000`s. As a method of accomplishing this research, the documents and fashion magazines related to the art and fashion were examined. Through analyzing the art in the Tang`s related to fusion culture, reach a conclusion that the modern fashion has four characters. 1. The cause of high culture and economy, the trend of fashion was decorative 2. The cause of realism, the trend of fashion were modern and simple. 3. The cause of rhythmical line, the trend of fashion had natural drape. 4.           Drag Queen 복식(服飾)에 관(關)한 연구(硏究)

          The purpose of this study is considering about drag queen`s costume in the point of view of anthropology and psychoanalysis. The contents are the meaning of drag queen by theoretical research and the characteristics of drag queen`s costume. The results of characteristics of drag queen`s costume are summerized as following. 1. Sexual originality is related with homosexuality. Costume express character of gay not as a transsexual or cross-dresser. 2. Imitation is related with identification of drag queen and famous star like actress, pop singer and historical heroine. 3. Amusement is related with drag queen`s life style. There are two kinds of character in amusement. One is humour. Another is an exaggeration. 4. Commercialism is related with mass-media culture. Drag queen`s costume have an influence with movie, advertisement and modern fashion.

          21세기 힙스터리즘 패션의 구별짓기 특성

          Hipsterism is a subculture that seeks to differentiate by intentionally maintaining a distance from the mainstream culture and has an obvious identity and ideology. Hipsters in the 21st century were perceived as resistance consumers who pursued a progressive and alternative consumer life against commercialism and showed a culturally sensitive consumer attitude that was interested in conscientious consumption such as environmental protection, vegetarianism, and animal protection, but is now turning into cutting-edge consumers who only pursue outward trends. They reveal the superiority of the esthetic sensibility and take up a cultural hierarchy with their tasteful consumption to reveal their self-identity, fashion, and style to become powerful recognition indicators of hipsterism. This study will take note of recent trends in the global fashion consumer market, which has been largely reshaped into snobbism and hipsterism, and analyze how hipsterism has resurfaced in the 2000s. The term "hipster" or "hipsterism" especially in the modern Korean fashion industry, are frequently used to describe a specific fashion style and lifestyle, but the consideration of its definition and characteristics is insufficient, so a timely attempt would be meaningful. This study focuses on the nature of hipsterism in developing self-identity based on the strategy of the "difference" from others and uses Bourdieu's the distinction theory as an analytical framework with which to examine its expressive characteristics in greater depth.

          아르데코 패션에 나타난 도가적(道家的) 패션미학

          This research is the way in which the Art Deco period reflects the Aesthetic in Taoism and verify that the Art Deco fashion represent the Taoistic physical and spiritual world view. The research demonstrates that the Art Deco style from the interaction Taoistic artistic spirits occurring a century ago and suggests another view of analyzing Art Deco fashion. The research through fashions in 1920s and 1930s when Art Deco style flourished and the methodology includes both literature search and case study. Reviewing related books, relics and preceding researches, I described the concept and origins of Art Deco, defined the concept and scope of the modernism and concluded that the Aesthetics of Art Deco connects to the Taoistic philosophy. The Art Deco style which widely flourished between World War 1 and World War 2 was actively accepted among styles which were broad and diverse due to the historical reasons of the time. The Art Deco style was the major design trend in European and American art and architecture for 10 years between two World Wars. The name "Art Deco" has been used since 1960s when the style was first revived. Art Deco style was known as the Modern style in its golden days in 1920s and 1930s. The practical, broad and popular style spreaded to every life in European countries especially in France, focusing on the practical aspect rather than the aesthetic aspect. The decorative art movement succeeding and developing Art Nouveau style when the massive system evolved began at the international exhibition held in Paris in 1925 and reached its zenith at the time when it widely spreaded in various ways influencing as far as America. The art trend in Europe becoming popular in the 20th century such as Jugendstil in Germany, Art Nouveau in France, Modern style in UK and De Stijl in Netherlands have a common feature as follows. Since text, painting and graphic designs are created in one decoration, literature and formative art are combined in the new way and are given as a decorative totality which cannot be separated to spectators and readers. In this period, the art feature of the turning point of a century transcending the nation used decoration as the universal means of forming organized totality. The decoration combined individual, the power and strength of lines embedded in the Taoistic art around Japan motivated the European art creating the new aesthetic. The aesthetic of line existing in Japanese art was enough arise the new awareness of the beauty for the Western artists of the time and provides the recognition of returning to the nature to the Western people losing the humanity in the industrial society which are exactly the same as the Taoistic art spirit. Art Deco means the practical, broad and popular style focusing on the practical aspect rather than the aesthetic aspect, and many scholars define the "simple and functional articles" of the Art Deco style as modernism. Modernism is the cultural variant secondarily created by the introduction of value of relative philosophy of the Eastern culture into the West. In addition, modernism makes the expression by the means of reduction. The purpose of expression of the design aims to the immaterial, paradox and converging properties which can be explained with the Taoistic worldview.

        • 21세기 패션에 나타난 보헤미안 패션에 관한 연구

          새로운 밀레니엄을 맞이한 지금 새로운 세기에 대한 희망과 불안감 속에서 과거 회귀적인 복고의 경향이 두드러지는 가운데, 패션에 나타난 경향이 보헤미안 스타일이다. 본 연구는 보헤미안의 이론적 배경을 토대로 20세기와 21세기에 패션에서 나타나는 보헤미안적 특성을 살펴보고, 나아가 현 시대에 맞게 재해석 되어 어떻게 반영 되고 있는지를 분석, 고찰 하는데 있다. 본 연구의 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 60년대의 보헤미안 스타일인 히피 스타일과 차별되는 가장 큰 특징으로는 고급성을 들 수 있다. 소재에 있어서 60년대 히피 스타일에서 찾아보기 어려웠던 모피 소재와 함께 케시미어를 사용하였다. 과거 거칠게 장식되었던 요소들이 비딩과 고급스러운 재질의 장식으로 인해 저급패션으로 여겨졌던 보헤미안 스타일에 고급성을 부여 하였다. 둘째, 21세기 보헤미안의 라이프 스타일의 변화로 인해 추구하는 것 중 큰 특징은 실용성이다. 이에 가장 눈에 띄는 아이템으로는 니트를 들 수 있으며, 판초형의 망토 역시 새롭게 다시 나타나고 있다. 또한 60년대의 히피 스타일에서 나타난 청바지가 컬랙션에 등장하여 히피 스타일의 그런지 룩의 이미지와 다른 정돈된 이미지로서 실용성을 추구하였으며, 60년대와 차별화 되는 정돈되고 단순화된 패치워크로 인해 실용성을 부여 하였다. 셋째, 21세기는 Multi-Culture 시대를 맞이하여 문화의 융합과 새로운 문화의 창조로서 자유로움을 추구하는 가운데 고급문화와 저급문화, 고급성과 실용성, 기계적인 것과 자연적인 것들 사이에서 발생한 충돌로 인하여 각각 새로운 문화가 발생하게 되었다. 이에 패션에서는 소재와 추구하는 성향에 따른 전에 없었던 믹스 매치를 통해 60년대의 히피 스타일을 보다 자유롭게 표현한 복합성이 나타났다. 이상에서 살펴본 바와 같이 21세기의 보헤미안 스타일은 20세기의 보헤미안스타일인 히피 스타일의 정신을 기본으로 하되 현 시대의 사회문화적 상황에 맞는 요소들의 결합으로 재해석되어 나타남을 알 수 있다.
