Studies on the flow pattern due to reclamation in the Myunggi-Nocksan region are carried out based on field observations and numerical experiments. Serial time series measurement of current, temperature and salinity were conducted for 1 tidal period at intervals of 1 hour from surface to bottom on station located at 128° 54' 44 E, 35° 01' 04 N in April and June 1992. Surface current opposite to the subsurface current causes turbulent mixing to make homogeneous salinity pattern in vertical section. Reclamation has little effect on the wave pattern and flow patterns are also nearly similar except on the nearby region of reclamation where flow speed somewhat weakened.

The search for oil and gas in the Mackenzie Delta and Beaufort Sea began more than 30 years ago. Geological and geophysical data gathered since the 1950, provided the first clues to unlocking the potential for large oil and gas accumulations. Drilling, begun in the 1960s, has confirmed it. The Geological Survey of Canada estimates the ultimate potential reserves of the region at 9.2 billion barrels of oil and 76 trillion cubic feet of natural gas. In the Beaufort Sea and Mackenzie Delta, industry is moving closer and closer to turning "Potential" into "Production". When exploration began there, however, it was not simply a matter of adjusting operating practices used elsewhere. Instead, exploration companies had to develop new practices and new technology, compatible with the region's environment. Industry introduced two different technologies - man - made islands and reinforced drillship.
The next major step in the development of northern drilling technology was the introduction of caisson - retained islands.
Gulf set up the Beaufort Sea drilling system consisting of two drilling units, four ice - breaking support vessels, and a base camp and administrative center. The company discovered a large oil - bearing structure, Amauligak, in the Beaufort Sea and continues to work towards full - scale development of it. And there are still other large potentially - oil - bearing structures in the Beaufort Sea waiting to be explored.
In order to make development of oil and gas in Arctic region economic, drilling and production system as well as transport system must be developed.
