Sol-Gel derived ferroelectric PZT thin films were fabricated on ITO/Glass substrate. Two kinds of rapid thermal annealing methods, R-I (six times of intermediate and final annealing) and R-II (one final annealing after six times of intermediate annealing) were used for preparation of multi-coated PZT thin films. 2500$\AA$-thick PZT thin films were obtained by the R-I and R-II methods and characterized by microstructure and dielectric properties. In case of using R-II, the microstructure was finer than that of R-I and there was no distinguishable difference in dielectric properties of PZT thin films between the R-I and R-II methods. But dielectric properties were enhanced by increasing perovskite phase fraction with increasing annealing temperature. Measured dielectric constant of PZT thin film annealed at 62$0^{\circ}C$ using the R-I method was 256 at 1kHz. Its remanant polarization (Pr) and coercive field (Ec) were 14.4$\mu$C/$\textrm{cm}^2$ and 64kV/cm, respectively.

Sol-Gel derived ferroelectric PZT thin films were fabricated on ITO/Glass and Si/SiO2 substrates. In order to investigate the effect of catalysts on the densification and crystallization of PZT thin films, a nitric acid or ammonium hydroxide was added to the PZT stock solution at the state of partial hydrolysis reaction. The measured pH for a stable PZT sol was 5.2~9.3. In case of an acid-catalyzed PZT sol, a highly condensed particulate PZT sol was formed by accelerating the hydrolysis reaction. But weakly branched polymeric PZT sol was formed with a base-catalyzed condition. The difference in densification behavior was not found in the pH range of added catalyst, but the refractive index of PZT thin film was increased rapidly as the annealing temperature increased. The PZT thin film annealed at 54$0^{\circ}C$ for 10 min was fully densified and its refractive index was above 2.4. When the annealing temperature increased, the transition from the pyrochlore phase to perovskite appeared at 54$0^{\circ}C$. The base-catalyzed PZT thin film suppressed to form the pyrochlore phase and proceeded effectively to convert the perovskite phase. This was due to the formation of polymeric molecular structure by controlling the hydrolysis and condensation reaction through the additiion of the ammonium hydroxide.

When ultrasound or computed tomographic (CT) scans demonstrate a focal mass within the pancreas, the radiologist or gastroenterologist assumes that it is carcinoma. Statistically this is the correct diagnosis. However, distinguishing pancreatitis from carcinoma by ultrasound and CT is occassionally impossible. Similarly, abnormalities seen on ERCP, such as simultaneous obstruction of both the common bile duct and adjacent pancreatic duct (double duct sign), has been shown to occur in pancreatitis as well as in the more commonly diagnosed pancreatic carcinoma. We experienced 3 cases af focal pancreatic masses that mistaken a carcinoma. And so, knowledge that such a mass can be benign in a clinical setting sbould result in an organiged approach to the correct diagnosis and avoidance of any unnecessary operations.
급성 간부전의 비수술적 치료 : 간세포이식과 인공간 Hepatocyte transplantation and bioartificial liver

Fulminant hepatic failure is a devasting process associated with high mortality,but no sequle after recovery. At the monent, there are no specific therapeutic modalities except for the orthotopic liver transplantation(OLT) which is limited to a small number of patients due to a lack of door organ. Recently, several nonsurgical managements have been investigated to overcome the donor shortage and to bridge patients to OLT. These include artificial hepatic support systems, hepatocyte transplantation and extracorporeal liver support. Xenotransplantation is also being investigated to circumbent the donor shortage. Hepatocyte transplantation : The application of liver cell transplantation has been envisioned for temporary metabolic support during liver failure, provision of specific liver functions in inherited metabolic disease of the liver and as a vehicle for ex vivo gene therapy. Potential advantages over OLT are the procedure is simple, hepatocytes can be cryopreserved for immediate use in need, the cost is less expensive and abrogation of allograft rejection may be easier by the modification of antigenicity during culture. Moreover, donor shortage can be overcome by the use of fetal hepatocytes, conditionally immortalized hepatocytes and possibly liver progenitor cells. However, the optimum route and the method are still being investigated. Recently viodegradable matrix or cotransplantation with non-parencymal liver cells is used to improve and prolong the survival of transplanted hepatocytes in the peritoneum, and injection of donor type splenocytes into the thymus along with ablation of the peripheral lymphocytes with antilymphocyte globulin is adopted to tolerize the recipient to allogeneic hepatocytes. Bioartificial liver Presently, several bioartificial liver systems use mammalian hepatocytes held within cartridges, mostly hollow fiber bioreactor perfused by plasma or whole blood. Plasma is separated from patient blood using the plasma separation unit, and is perfused into the charcoal column to remove low molecular weight toxin before passed through bioreactor containing hepatocytes where the metabolism and the synthetic function of the liver is supported. Early clinical expenece with this system seeded with matrix-anchred porcine hepatocytes showed significant beneficial effects without apparent complications in the treatment of patients with severe fulminant hepatic failure. Future bioartificial liver should be disigned to increased the functioning cell mass and improve the efficiency of the patient-bioreactor surface. And development of a human cell line or transgenic xenohepatocyte may improve cellular performance.
ATBC, GTB를 함유한 PLA/PBS 복합체 제조 및 물성 변화 비교 분석

기존의 범용 플라스틱은 폐기, 매립시 발생하는 환경문제로 인하여 범용 플라스틱의 대체 재료로 바이오 플라스틱이 각광받고 있다. 특히 PLA(poly(lactic acid))는 대표적인 바이오 플라스틱으로서 기존 범용 플라스틱에 비견될 강도와 모듈러스를 가지나 낮은 열 안정성과 높은 취성의 단점으로 인해 가공성이 제한된다. 본 연구에서는 PLA의 단점을 보완하고자 PLA/PBS(poly(buty lene succinate) 복합체를 제조하고, 나아가 ATBC(Acetyl-tributyl citrate) 및 GTB(Glyceryl tribenzoate) 함량에 따른 PLA/PBS 복합체의 취성, 열 안정성, 흐름성을 평가하고자 한다. PLA/PBS 복합체의 인장강도 및 연신율은 각각 50.39MPa, 110%로 순수 PLA에 비해 80% 감소된 인장강도와 18배 증가된 연신율을 보인다. 0.5wt% ATBC를 함유한 PLA/PBS 복합체의 MFI 값은 GTB를 함유한 PLA/PBS 복합체보다 1.3배 증가하였고, 순수 PLA에 대하여 4.2배 증가하였다. 또한, 10wt% ATBC를 함유한 PLA/PBS 복합체의 유리전이온도는 20°C로 순수 PLA보다 40°C 감소하였다. 따라서 ATBC 및 GTB 함량 조절을 통해 PLA/PBS 복합체의 취성, 열 안정성, 흐름성을 제어할 수 있다.
한국과 미국 기업의 이사회제도 차이가 기업재무보고 행태에 미치는 영향에 대한 실증적 비교 연구-사외이사와 감사위원회를 중심으로-

본 연구는 우리나라 상장기업을 대상으로 하여 이사회와 감사위원회의 특성이 기업의 이익조정과 관련성이 있는가를 실증적으로 분석하였다. 미국 기업을 대상으로 연구한 Klein (2002)에 따르면 이사회와 감사위원회의 독립성과 이익조정 간에 비선형적인 부의 관련성이 발견되었다. 구체적으로 이사회 및 감사위원회에서 사외이사의 비율이 과반에 미달하는 경우 두 변수 간에 유의적인 관련성이 발견되었다. 우리나라에서 사외이사제도는 1998년도부터 실시되었으며 2001년도부터는 대형 상장기업 및 금융기관은 이사의 1/2이상(3인 이상)을 사외이사로 구성하도록 의무화하고 있다. 또한 감사위원회의 설치는 2001년도부터 자산총액 2조원이상의 법인에서 의무화 되었다. 본 연구에서는 현행 한국의 사외이사제도와 감사위원회제도를 미국의 제도와 비교하고 우리나라 증권거래소에 상장된 기업을 대상으로 2001년도부터 2003년도 자료를 사용하여 사외이사와 감사위원회의 독립성이 이익조정에 영향을 미치는가를 실증적으로 분석하였다. 실증적 분석결과에 따르면 감사위원회의 설치여부 및 독립성은 기업의 이익조정과 유의적인 결과를 얻지 못하였다. 이사회의 독립성과 이익조정간에 한계적인 부의 관련성이 발견되었다. 이와 같은 결과는 Klein(2002)에서보다 낮은 관련성을 나타내는 것으로, 그 가능한 이유로는 감사위원회가 아직까지 우리나라에서는 정착이 되지 않은 초기단계이며 또한 한국기업에서의 사외이사의 법적 책임과 피소송가능성이 미국기업에 낮은 것 등을 들 수 있을 것이다. This study examines whether existence of audit committee and the independence of board and audit committee are related to earnings management by the firms listed in Korean Stock Market. No significant relationship is found between the existence and independence of audit committee and earnings management. And marginally significant negative relationship is found between board independence and earnings management. Possible reasons why the results in Korean Stock Market are not strong as those in the U. S. are (1) the audit committees are inaugurated very recently, and accordingly the they are not functioning well as they should be, (2) the legal responsibilities of the outside directors in Korea are weaker as compated to those in the U. S., and (3) the possibility that the outside auditors are sued is lower in Korea than in the U. S.
상부 위장관 출혈을 동반한 다발성 원발성 위장관 간질 종양 1예

The terms $quot;gastrointestinal stromal tumor$quot; (GIST) have been applied to mesenchymal tumos that represent neither typical leiomyoma nor schwannoma. The majority of GISTs are Located in the stomach and small intestine, and only 4% of GISTs are found in duodenum. The most important characteristic is their indolent, slow-growing nature, rendering the most common definitions of malignancy invalid and inapplicable. Clinical and pathological criteria to differentiate benign from malignant GISTs are not well established. Tumor size and mitoic activity are commonly considered as important features, allowing for the prediction of biological behaviour and outcome. The case of a 87-year-old male patient who was presented with melena and acute anemia is herein reported. Esophagogastroduodenoscopy and computed tomography of the abdomen revealed two submucosal tumors in the stomach and duodenum. Histological and immunohistochemical studies on the surgical resection specimen revealed a gastrointestinal stromal tumor of an uncommiteed type, with no evidence of increased mitotic activity. The patient was treated with local excision of the tumors and is now in a favorable state.
