      • 靑少年의 進路選好一貫性과 進路選擇의 豫言

        郭晙圭,申海雨 東亞大學校 學生生活指導硏究所 1984 學生硏究 Vol.13 No.-

The purpose of this study was three fold. (l) to clarify the definiton of career development and quilance (2) to clarify consistency in career choice for youth, and (3) to determine predictability in career choice category for youth. The method used in this study was research articles published in various journals and books Tallowing results are assertional. Studies of persistence or consistency in career choice usually have relied on cross-sectional design which do not permit Sampling behavior over a long period. Therefore, most findings are inconsistent and confusing. In surveying the research articles published it is found that there have been relatively few well designed studies which attempt to predict career choice. Most prediction studies have been weak both in design and methodology, and thus, the findings have been inconsistent and inconclusive. It was suggested that further study with better design (longitudinal data and precise control of intervening coriobles) should be carried out in order to make conclusion valid and consistent.

The guidance through assisting youths with their career choice and development was assumed to be the most appropriate for our youths today in relation to current school and social situation. In this article an attempt to define what career guidance means in relation to school and society was made. In addition, goals and objectives and the roles of career guidance were outlined through studying data currently available. It was determined that the definition of career guidance should be broadened to include not only vocational aspect of guidance but also the procedures that help facilitate social, emotional, and psychological development of indivuduals. The most importantly, the career guidance should be directed for all youths.

      • 相談員의 精神健康諮問家로서의 役割에 관한 硏究

        郭晙圭,金大元 東亞大學校 學生生活指導硏究所 1984 學生硏究 Vol.13 No.-

This study purported to examine the role counselors may possibly take as a mental health specialist in school settings. An effort to define the mental health consultation was made. In addition, the roles of consultant based on various consultation models as well as consultation modes in school were studied. Among various definitions with regard to mental health consultation, several common elements were found. Firstly,in consultation, there are two parties involved, in which one possesses professional skills and knowledge (expertise) and the other is the one who dose not possess these but needs them. Secondly, the relationship is voluntary in many situation between the professional helper and others who need his expertise. Thirdly, there usually occurs some changes on the client's part during the process. Therefore, it can be said that the consultation is a helping process which emerges out of an individual, group, or organizational need to solve both human and organizational problems. The roles of consultant's are many fold. These can be drawn from the analysis of various consultation model-information transmission model, mental health model, organizational process model, and advocacy model. Following roles are generated. (1) (1) consultant is an information transmitter, (2) consultant is a mental health specialist, (3) consultant is the organization's process helper, and (4) consultant is an advocator. Based on the analysis of existing data, it is concluded that school counselors, college professors in the mental health field, and supervising personnel in the school district who possess expertise in this field and have training be utilized as consultants. Because these personnels are professional helper with expertise in Counseling and Guidance, specifically concerned with student's well being and healthy growth and development, and the current shift of mental health emphasis toward prevention of mental disorder away from treatment was also very much at the root of the rationale for making the school the target of so many consultative services.
