This paper presents results of the development of energy saving technology for building automation system. As a result, the direct digital controllers are stand-alone control stations gathering data from the field devices such as sensors or controllers, alayzing them. Corresponding with central control & monitoring system and controlling the devices as programmed direct digital control has programmable logic control functions for reliable distributed direct digital control. Main software and direct digital control are our own developments which make it possible for us to extend or modify all the requirements of user's in the system promptly.

A study has been conducted experimentally on the natural convection heat transfer characteristics of a horizontal flat plate with vertical rectangular fins in air. The effects of fin heights and Rayleigh numbers are mainly investigated. 1. The mean fin and mean total Nusselt numbers increase as dimensionless fin heights increase at 0.67≤H/S≤ 1.67. But the mean plate Nusselt numbers decrease as dimensionless fin heights increase. 2. The mean fin surface Nusselt numbers has it's maximum outside surface (Y_2) where there is in terference from each other fin. 3. The mean Nusselt numbers increase as Rayleigh numbers increase. 4. The mean fin Nusselt numbers are 116% and 455% respectively more than the mean plate Nusselt numbers at H/S=0.67 and 1.67 for Ra_m=7.31×10^3

In the making of powerful engines demanded, a study should be made on the effect of fuel lubricating oil on the engines as well as on the mechanical problems. Satisfactory engines are to be made by the desinger's study on the effect of fuel lubricating oil working on the respective mechanical parts of an engine, and by making use of it as much as possible. For many years the methods of engine lubrication have been studied, of which the mixed lubrication is believed to be more important than the segregated lubrication. It will be, therefore, of use to make extended study on the problems and their solutions of the mixed lubrication. A brief study is made here on the effect on the engine's life and capacity which the mixed lubrication-which has been used at the government offices-produces to the respective parts of an engine, and on the problems and their solutions coming from it.

To investigate the influence of fin space and shape of a heat exchanger on the argumentation of heat transfer efficiency, we make models of a plate fin type and a louvered fin type heat exchanger which was given a transformation of fn space in plate fin type and levered fin type heat exchangers which are often used now, And the influence of fin space on the flow and the characteristics of heat transfer was measured and analysed with variable of air velocity and temperature of plate heating. The results of experiment shows as belows. Mean heat transfer coeffcient(h)shows higher value in louvered fn type heat exchanger than in plate fin type heat exchanger, size of mean heat transfer coefficient with fin space shows same in both case in louvered and plate fin type heat exchanger like this oreder that fin space in 5㎜, 6㎜, 4㎜. When the temperature difference(ΔT) being between 4℃ and 16℃ mean heat transfer coefficient rised till 8℃ afterward falls, size of mean teat transfer coefficient by fin space shows like this order that fin space is 6㎜, 6㎜, 4㎜. Pressure drop shows larger in louvered fin type heat exchanger than in plate fin type heat exchanger, size of pressure drop(??P) shows like this order that fin space is 4㎜, 5㎜, 6㎜. Mean heat transfer coefficient per unit pressure drop (h/??P) shows higher in louvered fin type heat exchanger than in plate fin type heat exchanger, size of mean heat transfer coefficient per unit pressure drop by fin space shows like this order that fin space is 5㎜, 6㎜, 4㎜.

Since the swash plate type axial piston pump/motor utilizes hydrostatic bearings between the surfaces of fixed and moving parts in the design. it becomes not only high pressurized but also high efficient, and it is thus used in many fields that require the high speed and the high power per unit weight - mobility equipments, concrete mixer drums, tractors. military products etc. The swash plate type axial piston pump/motor is characterized by high power per unit weight, power transmission, and easy operation. but relatively big power loss, and sensitivity to contaminated operating oil are taken into consideration disadvantages over others. With the design consisting of very precise and complicated parts its performance truly varies depending on manufacturing and assembly techniques in the production. In this study, analytical approaches and power loss mechanisms are proposed for the in-line integrated Hydrostatic Transmission(HST) with variable hydraulic piston pump and fixed hydraulic piston motor in order to improve performance. To this end, first, analytical model and characteristics on the piston show and shoe plate from basic theories in hydraulic pump/motor are presented, and volumetric and mechanical losses are further investigated.
