The roles of urban design in urban regeneration: case studies of the Housing Market Renewal Pathfinder area in Newcastle, UK

This paper explores the roles of urban design in urban regeneration through a detailed empirical investigation of urban design in Scotswood andWalker, regeneration under the umbrella of the Housing Market Renewal programme. The case studies identified various roles of urban design in urban regeneration and highlighted that urban design contributes to urban regeneration as a place-shaping mechanism. The environmental contribution of urban design was recognized as shaping better-quality places with quality design. The social contribution of urban design was recognized as providing better places for the everyday life of existing users and end users as the social consequences of urban regeneration. This paper concludes with a discussion about the potential roles of urban design in urban regeneration.

OVA로 유도된 생쥐 모델에서 EGCG의 천식 예방 효과

Epigallocatechin-3-gallate (EGCG), a major form of tea epicatechin, has a variety of biological activities. It has recently been studied intensively as an antiallergic and anti-inflammatory agent. Thus we elucidated the anti-allergic effect of EGCG in the ovalbumin (OVA)-induced asthma model mice by examining the expression of matrix metalloproteinase (MMP)-9. Also airway reactivity to methacholine challenge and reactive oxygen species (ROS) generation in BAL fluid. mesured by the expression of iNOS mRNA in lung tissue and tumor necrosis factor (TNF) in BAL fluids. The OVA challenged mice showed allergic airway reactions, such as inflammatory chemokine (CCL5,CXCL10) in the airway and lung tissues. However mice administrated with EGCG had significantly reduced CCL5 and MMP-9 expression in lung tissues as well as TNF-α and IL-5 production in BAL fluid. these results suggest that EGCG regulate

서울·京畿地域 印花文土器에 대한 小考 -古墳出土 고배·대부완·뚜껑을 중심으로-

This is a study of the Shilla Inhwamun pottery excavated from tombs in Seoul・ Gyeonggi. The time range is the period after in the mid-6th~10th century and The space range is Seoul·Gyeonggi area. I divided into four phases through a change of pottery and a inflow and decline of the Inhwamun. First stage is the Silla pottery inflow phase with advance into Han-river. This stage is from the middle part to the late part of the 6C, It appears an intensive triangle pattern(三角集線文) and a compasses circle shaped pattern(Compass圓弧文) before a appearence the Inhwamun. Next stage is the time that Seoul·Gyeonggi area is included complete a Silla's scope of influence. A mounted dish(高杯) type has changed and a mounted bowl(臺附盌) comes into being. It has a unity class Inhwamun and appears length serial patterns(縱長連續文) such as dot line patterns(點列文). It seems from the early part of the 7th century to the early part of the 8th century. The third stage is the time that the Inhwamun is engraved splendidly. This is the period from the first half to the end of the 8th century. Lastly, A mounted bowl burnt softness relatively to before, And a Inhwamun start to decay. Moreover, It sprang up bottles have various shape. This is the 4th stage. The pariod is the early 9C~10C. Based on this study, I tried to analyze features about the Shilla Inhwamun pottery excavated from tombs in Seoul・Gyeonggi. According to analysis, The serial pattern(連續文) is a representative pattern of Seoul·Gyeonggi area’s Inhwamun. And There are vary few Inhwamun pottery is engraved width serial patterns(橫長連續文), concrete shaped patterns(具象文) and four-petal shaped patterns(四葉花文). It is not more various than Gyeongju that time's capital. Because these area is a outside of Silla, The Inhwamun pottery does not develop various.

入院 靑年期患者의 臨床的 硏究

Adolescent Psychiatry has brief history both in its systemic study and also in its clinical practice. During past several years, it was impressed that there were increasing number and growing concerns in the field of adolesdent psychiatry in korea. in this papers, the author attempted to draw out the current state of adolescent neuropsychiatric practice in Chsun university hospital. One hundred twenty five adolescent in-patients who admitted in the department of neuropsychiatry of Chosun university, during the period from Jan. Ist 1973, until December 31th 1975, were analyzed statistically in terms of age and sex, diagnogis, educational status, reason for discharge, duration in hospitalization and medication in diagnotic categories. The results were as follows: 1) Sex distribution of study group was composed of 52% of male and 48% of female. and in diagnotic categories, as a whole peak age of all in-patients was between 18-25year o1d(54.4% of the study group) 2) Schizophrenia was the most common initial diagnosis(41,6% of the study) 3) In diagnostic categories of these in-patients, as to the sex distribution was revealed that schizophrenia was highest rate in female patient and adolscent depression was highest rate in male patient among the cases of neuropsychiatric problems, in conversion hystery and hysterical psychosis, female patients had a higher rate than male patients. 4) The diagnosis of schizophrenia was most common at age of late adolescence. 5) Their educational level revealed that 67.5% of the patients were high school and 12.8% of the parients were college graduates. 6) As to the consideration of medication in diasnostic categories, generally speaking, combined drug medication was performed in nearly two thirds of cases, but of case was single medication. Among the cases of schizophrenia with medicational therapy, single major tranquilizer was highest rate of 34.6%, especially among the cases of schizophrenia, major tranquilizer combined antidepressants was rate of 28.8% extremely rate. We hope ciie obtained results will de helpful the further clinical research of adolescent psychopathology and disorders in Chun-Nam area.

콩가루 혼합식빵의 기호도 조사

저렴하면서도 영양이 풍부한 콩가루를 이용하여 식빵의 품질향상과 더불어 적절한 혼합비율에 대한 수용성을 알아 보고자 각각 0%, 5%, 10%, 20%를 첨가하여 식빵을 만든후 관능검사를 행하였던바 다음과 같은 결과를 얻었다. 1. 부피는 0%로 콩가루를 전혀 포함하지 않은 식빵이 가장 크게 나타났다. 2. 색깔은 빵껍질과 빵속 두가지로 나누어 조사한바 두가지 모두가 4.24, 4.27로 5%의 콩가루를 포함한 식빵이 높게 나타났다. 3. 조직은 5%의 콩가루를 포함한 식빵이 4.21로 가장 높았다. 4. 유연성은 0%로 콩가루를 전혀 포함하지 않은 식빵이 4.58로 가장 높게 나타났다. 5. 향기는 10%의 콩가루를 포함한 식빵이 4.15로 가장 점수가 높았다. 6. 풍미는 5%의 콩가루를 포함한 식빵이 4.34로 가장 높았다. 7. 전체 만족도는 5% 식빵이 가장 높게 나타났으며 다음으로 0%, 10% 그리고 20%의 순으로 나타났다. This study was carried for the purpose of increasing the nutritional quality and improving texture of bread. Therefore we made 0%, 5%, 10%, and 20% soy flour added bread and do sensory evaluation. The results are as follows ; 1. The volume of control bread was higher. 2. The crust color score of bread was 4.29 which was the highest value. 3. The crumb color score of bread was 4.27 with was the highest value. 4. The texture score of control bread was 4.21 which was the highest value. 5. The tenderness score of control bread was 4.58 which was the highest value. 6. The aroma score of 10% soy flour added bread was 4.15 which was the highest value. 7. The flavor score of 5% soy flour added bread was 4.34 which was the highest value. 8. The over-all acceptability was the highest 4.32 with 5% soy flour added bread the rest were in the decreasing order of 0%, 10%, and 20% soy flour.

Isolated tubal torsion in the third trimester of pregnancy managed with simultaneous salpingectomy and cesarean section

Isolated tubal torsion is an uncommon cause of acute abdomen in pregnancy. Tubal torsion may occur in the absence of adnexal disease. Diagnosing tubal torsion is especially difficult in pregnancy because no precise preoperative radiological and biochemical investigations have been conducted. Most patients are diagnosed during surgery. Here, I present a case of isolated tubal torsion in a pregnant woman at 35 weeks and 6 days of gestation that was managed with salpingectomy and cesarean section simultaneously.
