The purpose of this study is to compare the usage of demonstratives in English and Korean. For this, 16,678 words of English texts and 9,870 ejeol of translated Korean texts are analyzed. English demonstratives can be divided into two groups according to the location in a given sentence: proximal and distal. Although Korean has proximal and distal demonstratives, when English demonstratives are translated into Korean, it does not always match in parallel. Many of demonstratives in English are omitted when translated into Korean. And Korean tends to use antecedents with more frequency as opposed to demonstratives. It is interesting to note that there are many examples where the distal demonstrative ‘that/those’ in English are translated into the proximal demonstrative ‘i’ in Korean. This difference can be explained the by speaker’s emotional distance. The usefulness of this study is that the frequency can be clearly seen of each language’s use of demonstratives.
An Efficient in vitro Micropropagation for Production of Disease-free Bulbs in Korean Native Lilium

Cryopreservation is one of the ideal and suitable methods for long-term storage of plant germplasm. The plant contaminated with diseases and pathogens are decreased the multiplication rate, survival rate and high quality of plants after cryopreservation. The aim of this work was to improve a micropropagation method for lily in Korea, which is indigenous plant. In the last process of rinsing scales after surface-sterilization, we tried to control the diseases and pathogens lived within the tissue by rinsing in 0.03% sodium hypochlorite (NaClO) instead of sterile distilled water. Bulb scales of Lilium were cultured in vitro on MS medium supplemented with Plant Preservative Mixture (PPM). The results showed that L. tsingtauense accessions were observed ranged from 53.9 to 100% with a mean value of 76.8% and L. hansonii accessions were checked from 84.5 to 85.5% with a mean of 85% survival rate. The newly small bulb formed from bulb-scales was transferred to MS medium. We checked the presence of microorganisms and survival rate after 3 weeks in culture after examination of bacterial incidences. The results indicated that the non-contamination rate were shown ranged from 75.0 to 94.1% with mean value of 83.2% in L. tsingtauense species, and that L. hansonii were observed 85.1 to 91.7% with mean value of 88.4%. This study will provide a valuable basis for establishment of effective axenic cultures for in vitro micropropagation of Korean native lily species.

Le but de cet article est d'?clairer les ?l?ments du structuralisme et son influnce exerc?e sur la critique litt?raire moderne. Pour cela, nous divisons notre ?tude en deux parties. 1. En nous appuyant sur la pens?e de Claude L?vi-Strauss, nous tentons d'?valuer la linguistique structurle de F. Saussure et de R. Jakobson pour mieux percevoir les ?l?ments fondamentaux du structuralisme proprement dit. Nous pouvons ?galement comprendre par ce travail la relation entre le structuralisme et la critique litt?raire contemporaine. Ainsi pouvons-nous conclure que la critiqiue structurale est une transformation s?miologique dans la m?thode de l'?tude litt?raire. 2. Nous consacrons ce chapitre ? l'?tude sur Roland Barthes. En tra?ant ses douze volumes critiques, nous essayons d'analyser la th?orie s?miologique appliqu?e ? la nouvelle critique. Ces recherches rel?vent, sans doute, du domaine m?thodologique qui exigerait une analyse beaucoup plus profonde. Mais nous nous bordons ? appr?cier la conception de la critique litt?raire d'apr?s R. Barthes. 11 en r?sulte simultan?ment que ce grand critique contemporaine nous refl?te tous ses caract?res sp?cifiques dans la m?thode critique.

피아식별장치는 적아 식별을 위해 항공기에 장착하여 외부로부터의 식별 질의 신호에 대한 응답 기능을 수행하는 장비로 반드시 장착하여야 하는 비행 필수 장비이다. 그리고 항공기용 피아식별장치의 제어형태는 MIL-STD-1553B Bus, ARINC-429 그리고 이산신호 등을 이용할 수 있으며, 본 논문에서는 이산신호만을 이용하여 제어하여야 하는 피아식별장치를 무인항공기에 장착하는 경우 제어하기 위한 방안을 기술하였다. 또한 현재 일반화되어 있는 MIL-STD-1553B Bus를 이용할 수 있는 피아식별장치를 장착하는 경우도 고려하여 설계한 내용을 기술한다. IFF transponder must be installed in the aircraft and responds to the IFF interrogation from outside for identification. The interfaces to control the IFF transponder could be MIL-STD-1553B, ARINC-429 or discrete. In this paper, we described the control design of IFF transponder which is installed in UAV and provides discrete interface only. Also we considered the IFF transponder replacement to the other IFF transponder which provides digital interfaces such as MIL-STD-1553B.
