      • 간에서 보이는 직선연 징후의 CT 소견

        목적 : 전산화단층촬영(CT) 에서 조여증강 전, 후에 간 내에서 관찰되는 직선연 징후(straight border sign)의 그 원인에 따른 영상소견을 알아보고자 한다. 대상 및 방법 : 복부 CT에서 간내에서 직선연 징후를 보이는 9례를 후향적으로 분석하였다. 원인 질환은 간전이, 간세포암, 외상성 간손상이 각각 1례와 간농양, 재발성화농성담도염, 그리고 지방간 각각 2례였다. 결과 : 전이암과 간세포암 각각 1례에서는 종양의 문맥침범으로 인하여 그리고 간농양과 재발성화농성담도염 각각 2례에서는 염증이 있는 간엽으로의 스틸현상에 의해 직선연으로 경계되는 간 엽간의 조영증강의 차이가 있었다. 외상성 간손상 1례에서는 간문맥과 동맥의 손상에 의한 쐐기모양의 간경색이 관찰되었으며 2례의 지방간에는 간우엽에 갠틀리선을 경계로 하는 저음영이 관찰되었다. 결론 : CT 영상에서 간내 직선연 징후가 보일 때 음영의 분포 (해부학적 또는 비해부학학적), 감쇠도(고감쇠 또는 저감쇠), 그리고 조영증가 유무와 그 방법에 대한 지식을 모두 고려하여야 할 것으로 생각된다. Purpose : We demonstrate computed tomography (CT) appearances of straight border sign of liver and correlate with its causes. Material and Methods : We retrospectively reviewed nine cases of abdominal CT scan that showed the straight border sign. Underlying disease were liver metastasis (n=1), hepatocellular carcinoma (n=1), traumatic liver injury (n=1), liver abscess (n=2), recurrent pyogenic cholangitis (n=2), and fatty liver (n=2). Results : Attenuation differences of liver bordered by the straight line were depicted in various conditions. These conditions are the followings : portal vein invasion in case of liver metastasis and hepatocelluar carcinoma ; steel phenomenon in case of liver abscess and recurrent pyogenic cholangitis ; and hepatic artery and portal vein injury in case of traumatic liver injury. Lobar fatty liver lesions were also seen in right lobe bordered by straight line. Conclusion : To correctly interpret the straight border sign, we should consider the distribution (anatomic vs nonanatomic), the attenuation (low vs high), and the use and technique of contrast enhancement.

      • 탄소섬유 적층혼성부재의 계면수 변화에 따른 축 압궤 특성

        알루미늄과 CFRP는 대표적인 경량화 재료이다. 알루미늄 부재는 안정적인 소성 변형에 의해 에너지를 흡수하며, CFRP 부재는 비강성과 비강도가 우수하고 불안정한 취성파괴로 인해 에너지를 흡수한다. 이러한 각각 알루미늄과 CFRP 부재의 압궤 특성을 기초로 두 재 료의 결합에 의해 서로의 장점에 대한 시너지 효과를 얻기 위해 혼성구조부재를 제작하였다. 본 연구에서는 알루미늄 부재의 외측을 CFRP로 강화시킨 혼성구조부채를 제작하여 CFRP의 계면수 변화에 따른 축 방향 준정적 압궤실험을 행하여 사각 및 원형 단변 모형의 혼성구조부재의 압궤 특성을 조사하였다. 실험 결과 혼성구조부재는 내부의 알루미늄 부재의 연성 성질 때문에 CFRP 부재의 불안정한 취성 파괴를 보완하여 비교적 안정적인 압궤 모드를 보였다. 하지만 혼성구조부재는 계면수 변화에 대해 에너지 흡수성과 압궤 모드는 별다른 영향을 보이지 않았다. The aluminum or CFRP is representative of light-weight materials. The aluminum tubes absorb energy by stable plastic deformation and the CFRP tubes absorbs energy by unstable brittle failure with higher specific strength and stiffness. Based on the respective collapse characteristics of aluminum and CFRP tubes, the aluminum CFRP compound tubes were manufactured to get a synergy effect when the aluminum CFRP tubes were combined with the advantages of each tube. This paper is to investigate the collapse characteristics of square or circular shaped aluminum CFRP compound tubes subjected to quasi-static axial collapse tests which were conducted by changing the stacking conditions. Test results showed that the collapse of the aluminum CFRP compound tubes complemented unstable brittle failure of the CFRP tube due to the ductile characteristics of the inner aluminum tube. It turned out that interlaminar numbers of aluminum CFRP compound tubes have no influence on the energy absorption and collapse modes of the tubes.

      • 신손상시 수술 결정에 있어서 CT의 역할 : 중증 신손상을 중심으로 Its Role in Decision of Operation, Especially in Severe Renal Injury

        To evaluate the role of CT to guide how to treat patients with renal injury, we retrospectively reviewed 521 abdominal CT scans of patients with blunt abdominal trauma during a 71-month period. Thirty-one patients among them were diagnosed as renal injury. We classified those 31 patients by the category of CT-based renal injury ranging from category 1 to category 3 and compared those with clinical outcome, retrospectively. All of patient in category 1(100%), 4 patients in category 2(66%) and 1 patient in category 3(50%) were treated censervatively. Totally 29 patients(91%) were successfully treated without operation. No patient who was initially treated without surgery required delay operation due to renal injury. In conclusion, even severe renal injury including category 3 by CT scan can be managed without operation.

        Pancretic pseudocyst is a well-known complication of pancreatitis and may occur in unusual locations. Involvement of the left perirenal space and psoas muscle is rare. Radiologic findings and management of a surgically proven case of pancreatic pseudocyst extending to left perirenal space and psoas muscle is described.

      • 施肥條件이 사탕무의 生育과 Betacyanin 含量에 미치는 影響

        사탕무의 生育과 betacyanin 含量의 變化에 대한 施肥條件의 影響을 알아보기 위하여 室素 0, 10, 15 및 20㎏/10a와 加里 0, 10, 15 및 20㎏/10a 處理하여 試驗한 結果는 다음과 같다. 草長과 葉數는 室素 15㎏/10a 處理區까지는 增加되었으나, 20㎏/10a 處理區에서는 오히려 減少되었으며, 根直徑과 根長도 室素 施用量의 增加에 따른 有意的인 差異가 認定되었다. 그리고 根重은 無處理區에 비해 室素 處理區에서 增加되었으나, 室素 處理區間에는 큰 差異를 나타내지 않았다. Betacyanin 含量은 室素 15㎏/10a와 加里 20㎏/10a 處理區에서 0.126%로 가장 높았고, 生育段階別로는 파종후 110日에 가장 높은 含量을 나타내었다. These experiments were carried out to investigate the effect of nitrogen and potassium application on growth and betacyanin content of sugar beet. The experiments were respectively treated with 0, 10, 15 or 20㎏/10a nitrogen and 0, 10, 15 or 20㎏/10a of postassium, and the results were summarized as fellows. Plant height and number of leaves were increased by 15㎏/10a of nitrogen, otherwise; it was decreased by 20㎏/10a of nitrogen. There were significant differences root diameter and root length by increament of nitrogen application. Root weight was progressively increased by nitrogen treatments compared to the control, although there was no significant differences among the amount of nitrogen treatments. Betacyanin content was high 0.126% in the plot treated with 15㎏/10a of nitrogen and 20㎏/10a of potassium respectively. For the growth stage the corresponding value showed the highest level at the 110th day after seeding.

      • 흉요추 방출성 골절의 방사선학적 소견

        A retrospective review of 22 burst fractures of the thoracolumbar spine was performed to define the radiographic features found on CT and plain radiography. Characteristic components of the injury include : 1. Male to female ratio was 2.7 : 1, and the most prevalent age was 21 to 40 years. 2. Multiple level injuries were 6 cases (27.3%), and the most common cause of injury was fall down(14 cases, 63.6%). 3. The most cammon location was L1(45.5%) 4. The most common pattern of the retropulsed fragment in burst fracture was single midline fragment type(14 cases, 63.6%) and the most common type of burst fracture was classical form(10 cases, 45.5%). 5. Posterior element involvement of vertebra was seen in Ⅱ cases(50%) and the most common finding was laminar fracture in 9 cases. 6. The degree of anterior wedging above the 50% in height of vertebral body was in 4 cases (18.2%). 7. Degree of spinal canal narrowing and degree of neurological impairment is not directly correlated.

      • Implementation of Ternary Adder and Multiplier Using Current-Mode CMOS

        In this paper, the ternary adder and multiplier are implemented by current-mode CMOS. First, we implement the ternary T-gate using current-mode CMOS. Second, the ternary adder and multiplier over finite fields GF(3) are implemented to using the ternary T-gates based on current-mode CMOS. Finally, these circuits are simulated by Spice under 1.5 ㎂ CMOS standard technology with 15 μA unit current and 3.3V VDD voltage. The ratio of the width (W) and the length (L) in CMOS channel is 20 ㎛/2 ㎛. The simulated results are shown the satisfied current characteristics.

      • Effect of ischemic preconditioning on antioxidant status in the gerbil hippocampal CA1 region after transient forebrain ischemia

        <P>Ischemic preconditioning (IPC) is a condition of sublethal transient global ischemia and exhibits neuroprotective effects against subsequent lethal ischemic insult. We, in this study, examined the neuroprotective effects of IPC and its effects on immunoreactive changes of antioxidant enzymes including superoxide dismutase (SOD) 1 and SOD2, catalase (CAT) and glutathione peroxidase (GPX) in the gerbil hippocampal CA1 region after transient forebrain ischemia. Pyramidal neurons of the stratum pyramidale (SP) in the hippocampal CA1 region of animals died 5 days after lethal transient ischemia without IPC (8.6% (ratio of remanent neurons) of the sham-operated group); however, IPC prevented the pyramidal neurons from subsequent lethal ischemic injury (92.3% (ratio of remanent neurons) of the sham-operated group). SOD1, SOD2, CAT and GPX immunoreactivities in the sham-operated animals were easily detected in pyramidal neurons in the stratum pyramidale (SP) of the hippocampal CA1 region, while all of these immunoreactivities were rarely detected in the stratum pyramidale at 5 days after lethal transient ischemia without IPC. Meanwhile, their immunoreactivities in the sham-operated animals with IPC were similar to (SOD1, SOD2 and CAT) or higher (GPX) than those in the sham-operated animals without IPC. Furthermore, their immunoreactivities in the stratum pyramidale of the ischemia-operated animals with IPC were steadily maintained after lethal ischemia/reperfusion. Results of western blot analysis for SOD1, SOD2, CAT and GPX were similar to immunohistochemical data. In conclusion, IPC maintained or increased the expression of antioxidant enzymes in the stratum pyramidale of the hippocampal CA1 region after subsequent lethal transient forebrain ischemia and IPC exhibited neuroprotective effects in the hippocampal CA1 region against transient forebrain ischemia.</P>

      • Effect of Ginseng ( <i>Panax ginseng</i> ) Berry EtOAc Fraction on Cognitive Impairment in C57BL/6 Mice under High-Fat Diet Inducement

        <P>High-fat diet-induced obesity leads to type 2 diabetes. Recently, there has been growing apprehension about diabetes-associated cognitive impairment (DACM). The effect of ginseng (<I>Panax ginseng</I>) berry ethyl acetate fraction (GBEF) on mice with high-fat diet-induced cognitive impairment was investigated to confirm its physiological function. C57BL/6 mice were fed a high-fat diet for 5 weeks and then a high-fat diet with GBEF (20 and 50 mg/kg of body weight) for 4 weeks. After three <I>in vivo</I> behavioral tests (Y-maze, passive avoidance, and Morris water maze tests), blood samples were collected from the postcaval vein for biochemical analysis, and whole brains were prepared for an <I>ex vivo</I> test. A method based on ultra-performance liquid chromatography (UPLC) accurate-mass quadrupole time-of-flight mass spectrometry (Q-TOF/MS) was used to determine major ginsenosides. GBEF decreased the fasting blood glucose levels of high-fat diet-induced diabetes mellitus (DM) mice and improved hyperglycemia. Cognitive behavior tests were examined after setting up the DM mice. The <I>in vivo</I> experiments showed that mice treated with GBEF exhibited more improved cognitive behavior than DM mice. In addition, GBEF effectively inhibited the acetylcholinesterase (AChE) activity and malondialdehyde (MDA) levels of DM mice brain tissues. Q-TOF UPLC/MS analyses of GBEF showed that ginsenoside Re was the major ginsenoside.</P>
