      • Dog leukocyte antigen identity among cloned dogs with same donor cell

        The canine major histocompatibility complex (MHC) is referred to dog leukocyte antigens (DLA), which is known to be the most polymorphic genetic system in canine species. Many cloned dogs have been produced since Snuppy, first cloned dog, there was no research about genetic identity of MHC among cloned animals. Recently in Lee’s group, two non-transgenic cloned beagles (BG1, 2) were produced by somatic cell nuclear transfer (SCNT) using fetal fibroblast (BF). Also, four transgenic cloned beagles (Ruppy 1-3, 5) were generated using transgenic BF transfected with Red fluorescent protein (RFP) gene. We hypothesize that non-transgenic (BG1, 2) and transgenic (Ruppy 1-3, 5) cloned beagles derived from identical donor cells have the same immunological genetic characteristic except for RFP gene insertion in the genome. Thus, the aim of this study is to confirm the immunological identity of DLA class II in cloned beagles produced using same nuclear donor cell. Genomic DNA was extracted from blood of BG1, BG2, Ruppy 1, 2, 3 and 5. Genomic DNA of normal two control beagle, no correlation with BF was also investigated for rulling out the possibility that beagles were inbred. Forward and reverse primers used for DLA-DQA1 and DQB1 respectively were DQAF: 5’-TAAGGTTCTTTTCTCCCTCT-3’ and DQAR: 5’-GGACAGATTCAGTGAAGAGA-3’ DQBR:5’-CTCACTGGCCCGGCTGTCTC-3’ and DQBR: 5’-CACCTCGC CGCTGCAACGTG-3’. Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR) products were purified, sequenced directly using the Big Dye Terminator kit. Sequencing analysis was performed on an automated 3730xl DNA analyzer. In experiment 1, sequence of DLA-DQ alpha 1 (DQA1) and DLA-DQ beta 1 (DQB1) exon 2, hypervariabel region, was compared in BG1 and BG2. Experiment 2 also compared the sequence of DQA1 and DQB1 among Ruppy 1, 2, 3 and 5. Experimental 3 compared sequence of DQA1 and DQB1 among all cloned dogs (BG1, BG2 and Ruppy 1-3, 5). As a result, BG1 and BG2 have same allele for DQA1 and DQB1 as we expected. They share DQA1*00101 and DQB1*02901 in experiment 1. In experiment 2, Ruppy 1, 2, 3 and 5 also have identical DQA1*00101 and DQB1*02901 allele. No discrimination between transgenic dogs and cloned dogs was seen in DQA1 and DQB1 Allele in experiment 3. DQA1, DQB1 allele was identified as *00101 and *02901 in all dogs. We provided the allele identity of DQA1and DQB1 in cloned beagles, which can be used as preliminary data for immunological related studies. In conclusion, transgenic cloned dogs despite of red fluorescent protein genes being inserted in their nuclear DNA were immunologically compatible with non-transgenic cloned dogs. We demonstrated that cloned beagles produced using identical nuclear donor were immunologically compatible.

      • MANET를 이용한 등산객 조난 구조 시스템 설계 및 분석

        A mobile ad hoc network (MANET) is a kind of wireless ad hoc network. It is a self-configuring network of mobile nodes connected by wireless links. Infostation is a lower cost and low power system that provides very high bit rate with limited coverage, In this study, we propose search and rescue system that combines MANET of climbers with Infostations. A climber shares location information of climbers with other climbers while climbing, and delivers the information to Infostations. This system is an intermittent network due to the mobility of nodes. From the system, we can track the locations of missing climbers, Ultimately, proposed system achieves low cost and reduces memory requirement using Infestations. We also analyze the performance of the proposed system by simulation. From the performance analysis results, we expect that the proposed system will be very useful to early detect climbers' locations in emergency situations in Korea mountain areas.

      • Ti-6Al-4V합금의 열처리가 피로균열진전특성에 미치는 영향

        The fatigue crack growth test under constant amplitude loading was carried out to assess the effect of heat treatment on the fatigue crack growth of a forged Ti-6Al-4V alloy. Prepared with different heat treatment i.e.annealed at 850˚C(AN), 1100˚C(β-AN) and solution treated and aged(STA). Emphasis was placed on the effect of microstructure on fatigue behaviour, in particular, fatigue crack growth and crack closure and crack deflection and roughness of fatigue fracture surface. Fractographic observation was performed using a scanning electron microscope(SEM) for fatigue fracture surface.

      • 太谿穴의 臨床 活用에 대한 文獻考察

        Literally, the mean of Tae-gye is highest brook. And on the basis of the acupuncture theory, Tae-gye point is the Soo earth point and source point of the Kidney Channel as well. In addition, Tae-gye point is one of the Yang-Returning Nine points. We were trying to study bibliographically on the Tae-gye point because Tae-gye point can be used very broadly across the symptoms in the theoretical aspect described above. As a results, we found out that according to the classical books of acupuncture, Tae-gye point is entering point of the Meridian Water as a source point and can be used at both Kidney-Sufficient Syndrom and Kidney-Deficient Syndrom. And Tae-gye can be applied to the disease of kidney or bladder that is urogenital symtoms, Also, Tae-gye is an useful option of tooth-ache, asthma, indigestion, constipation, edema etc whose cause is related with decrease of Kidney ki.

        Eugenol, Capsaicin 과 Demethoxy - NE가 치수동통 반응에 미치는 영향

        The purpose of this study was to invesigate the analgesic effect of eugenol, capsaicin and demethoxy-NE. Young about cats, weighing 2.0 to 3.0kg, were used. Each animal was anesthetized (α-chloralose 60mg per kg body weight) and divided into four groups; control, eugenol, capsaicin and demethoxy-NE group. The anterior digastric muscles were exposed and a pair of electrodes was inserted to record the electromyograms. To expose the pulp, each canine teeth was prepared with a low speed bur under cooling and used for recording anterior digastric muscular EMGs evoked by noxious stimulation of dental pulp. To observe effects on jaw opening reflex, inferior alveolar nerve of both sides were exposed for drug application and wire electrodes were inserted in anterior digstric muscle for recording the EMGs. To observe effects on action potential, saphenous nerves of both sides were exposed and three tissue pools were made from surrounding tissue. The most distal pool was used for applying stimulation, the most proximal one for recording of action potential, and the other one for drug application. One side of inferior alveolar nerve and saphenous nerve were used for eugenol, capsaicin, or demethoxy-NE application, the other side of nerve for control experiments(only vehicle application). Anterior digastric muscular EMGs evoked by noxious stimulation of dental pulp were recorded before drug application, immediate after drug application, at 60 and 120 minutes, and 5 days after drug application. Action potentials were recorded before application, immediate after 30 minutes drug application, at 30, 60 and 120 minutes after drug had been washed out. The results were as follows; 1. Eugenol had a continuous blocking effect on the anterior digastric muscular EMGs evoked by noxious pulp stimulation and after 5 days, showed completely blocking effect. 2. After 5 days, demethoxy-NE applied to dental pulp had a considerable blocking effect on the jaw opening refex evoked by noxious stimulation but capsajcin had no significant effect. 3. After 5 days, eugenol group showed the strongest blocking effect among the all experimental groups on the jaw opening reflex evoked by noxious stimulation of dental pulp and capsaicin group showed the weakest blocking effect. 4. Eugenol had a completely blocking effect on the action potential conductivity of peripheral nerve. Capsaicin and demethoxy-NE had the blocking effect on the action potential conductivity of Aδ and C-nerve fibers. 5. Capsaicin, demethoxy-NE and eugenol applied to inferior alveolar nerve surppressed the jaw opening reflex evoked by noxious stimulation of dental pulp.

        Ornaments are a result of natural that had taken by the need and instinct of human and have been used from the ancient. In a human life, ornaments share the importance of clothing as a part of costume and symbolized a social and cultural phenomenon of politics, economics, civilization, religion, art, etc., not to speak of decoration and utility. In this paper, it considered symbolic elements in the pendant trinket of the Cho-Sun period and incidentally the composition, shape, sort, use of the pendant trinket. This present study reached its conclusions as follow: The pendant trinket of the Cho-Sun period is composed of the subject and the subordinate thing. The subject of the pendant trinket made with the metal, the precious stones, the mineral etc. The shape of the pendant trinket comes out of the shape of the nature, a real life and the religious desire. The sorts of the pendant trinket divide into Sam-Jak and Dan-Jak. The use of the pendant trinket was different in the use between the Sam-Jak and Dan-Jak. The Sam-Jak is the use of a ceremony, the Dan-Jak used as a usual thing. It can be consideration that the pendant trinket of the Cho-Sun period symbolized the aesthetic, the distinction of sex, the sorcery, the morality, a social rank and status, an economics status, a ceremony, a seasion, This present study reached its conclusions as follow: 1.It is symbolic of the aesthetic. 2.It is symbolic of the sorcery; Under the influence of Confucianism womenfolk expressed their ideals, wish, their heart's desire, pray in the pendant trinket through the force of the sorcery. 3.It is symbolic of the morality; In the Cho-Sun period, confucian ideals had effect on a system of the social and patriarchal system. Therefore, In this society women must lead a chaste life for chastity. 4.It is symbolic of a social rank and status; Womenfolk expressed their social rank, status through the pendant trinket. 5.It is symbolic of an economic status. 6.It is symbolic of a cermony; The wearing of the pendant trinket is different in an anniversary of the death of a king or queen and festive days. 7.It is symoblic of a season; It used the metal in autumn or winter and the precious stones in summer.

      • 센서 탑재 바이오 에드 혹 네트워크를 이용한 재난 관리용 시스템

        Ad hoc network does not need anv preexisting network infrastructure, and it has been developed as temporal networks in the various fields, Infostation is an efficient system to transfer informations which are not sensitive to delay, In this paper, we propose a disaster emergency management system using sensors attached to animals, that is combined with infostation system. We also analyze the performance of the proposed system by simulation. From the performance analysis results, we expect that the proposed system will be very useful to early detect big forest fires which occur frequently in Korea mountain areas.

        중안면부 골절이 하악 과두 골절에 미치는 영향에 관한 임상적 연구

        This is clinico-statistical & retrospective study of 30 patients with only unilateral mandibular condyle fracture and combined with 24 midface fracture patients who were treated with open reduction in Wonkwang University Dental Hospital during the period 1993 to 2000. The results were as follows : 1. In mandibular condyle fracture combined with midface fracture, the most incident type is associated with zygomaticomaxillary complex fracture and level Ⅳ of mandibular condyle fracture combined with ZMC fracture is the most related(33.32%). 2. In the period of intermaxillary fixation, unilateral mandibular condyle fracture group (9.8 days) is shorter than combined with midface fracture group (15.3 days), but no statistical difference between two groups(p.>0.05). 3. In the mouth opening recovery, unilateral mandibular condyle fracture group is faster than combined with midface fracture group in post-operative 1 month, but no significant difference between two-groups after 3 months postoperatively (p>0.05). 4. In two-groups, treatment method is almost open reduction with internal fixation(ORIF) and overall 25% temporary complications were shown, but little lower incidence in unilateral condylar fracture group.

      • FIB를 이용한 나노가공공정 기술 개발

        The application of focused ion beam (FIB) technology in micro/nano machining has become increasingly popular. Its use in micro/nano machining has advantages over contemporary photolithography or other micro/nano machining technologies, such as small feature resolution, the ability to process without masks and being accommodating for a variety of materials and geometries. This paper presents that the recent development and our research goals in FIB nano machining technology are given. The emphasis will be on direct milling, or chemical vapor deposition techniques (CVD), and this can distinguish the FIB technology from the contemporary photolithography process and provide a vital alternative to it. After an introduction to the technology and its FIB principles, the recent developments in using milling or deposition techniques for making various high-quality devices and high-precision components at the micro/nano meter scale are examined and discussed. Finally, conclusions are presented to summarize the recent work and to suggest the areas for improving the FIB milling technology and for studying our future research.
