      • Rifampicin에 의한 것으로 추정되는 위막성 대장염1예

        Pseudomembranous colitis, caused by altering the normal colonic flora and allowing the multiplication of Clostridium difficile, is an deleterious adverse effect of antibiotics. But it is rarely reported by rifampicin. Rifampicin is one of the first line drug in the treatment of tuberculosis and many patients are exposed to its potential adverse effects. We experienced a patient that had abdominal discomfort and hematochezia due to pseudomembranous colitis after receiving antituberculous medication, and which was probably caused by rifampicin. A 82 years old man was admitted with abdominal discomfort and hematochezia for one week. On the past history he had been diagnosed as endobronchial tuberculosis about 4 months ago. Colonoscopy revealed multiple discrete whitish mucosal lesion on rectosigmoid colon, and histologic findings were consistent with pseudomembranous colitis. The antituberculous agents were discontinued and vancomycin was administered. The patient's symptoms were resolved within several days. There was no recurrence after reinstitution of the antituberculous agents excluding rifampicin. We report here on a case of pseudomembranous colitis probably due to rifampicin.

        한영기계번역을 위한 '있다' 구문의 처리 방법

        This paper aims to introduce the processing methods of issta constructions for Korean-English machine translation. Semantic ambiguities as well as many sentence patterns of istta constructions in Korean make them difficult to automatically translate into English ones (target language). My claim, in this paper, is as follows. 1) We need to differentiate issta that functions as predicate and one that does not. 2) We need to solve processing issta ambiguity in terms of using the case frame of issta constructions. 3) To analyze issta constructions, after searching features of predicate and analyzing case markers followed by arguments of the construction, we write its results in the form of table (Proposition Table). 4) Regarding multiple nominative (ka) constructions, we first search the dictionary information of the nouns following ka. In doing so, if identified as nouns [Possessor], then we assign [Agent] features to the nouns following ka; and if identified as nouns [Possessed], then we assign [Theme]features to the same ones. We think, the ways of dealing with semantic ambiguities and case analysis of issta constructions can surely be extended to other types of similar constructions in Korean.

        지방척수수막류 14례의 임상 분석 : Clinical Analysis of 14 Cases

        Lipomyelomeningocele is the most common malformation leading to spinal cord tethering. Nonetheless, these lesion continues to pose a challenge in patient management. The purpose of this study was to identify the clinical feature, candidate for surgical repair, and outcome of lipomyelomeningocele in young children and adults. We studied the magnetic resonance images and/or lumbar myelo-CT of lipomyelomeningocele performed between January 1987 and September 1995 at our institutions and reviewed the pertinent medical records and radiologic studies to determine clinical feature, surgical candidate, and outcomes of these patients. Of the 14 cases(11 female and 3 males) studied, the most common factor that caused these patients to seek help was the cosmetic effect of the mass on their back, followed by urinary incontinence, and weakness of lower extremities. The patients' age ranged from 2 months to 21 years(mean, 5.0 years). All the patients underwent immediate surgical management that consisted of removal of lipoma, untethering of the cord, and complete dural sac repair. Follow up for these patients ranged from 6 to 82 months(median, 54 mo). None of the patients that underwent surgical correction before the emergence of neurological deficit had ever developed neurological deficits at the end of the follow up. However a few of the patients, despite presented with neurological deficits or urinary incontinence at the time of surgery, improved significantly. In conclusion, early detection and prophylactic surgery is imperative to prevent permanent neurological deficits and urinary dysfunction.

        This paper aims to investigating the types of collocation. I have in this paper tried to explain the category of collocation and attempt to divide into several types. For these purposes, I have criticized the syntactic and semantic condition on classifying the collocation. In particular, I have suggested that grammatical collocation which consists of lexical item and grammatical item must be excluded from collocation. The types of collocation should be set by a proper feature which a collocation is formed. A collocation AB is a semantic phraseme such that its signified “X” is constructed out of the signified of one of its two constituent lexemes, of A, and a signified “C” [“X” = “A”+“C”] such that the lexeme B expresses “C” only contingent on A. The types of collocation are divided according to whether “C” is segmented semantically.

        A valve spring retainer is a small disc and located at intake and exhaust valve stem of engine. The retainer supports a valve spring and transmits spring force to a valve. Force is applied to the retainer repeatedly by a rocker arm. Durability of the retainer is an important factor of performance. Weight of retainer affect dynamic performance of engine. Therefore, optimal strength and weight of the retainer design are needed. In this study, stress distribution and fracture load of retainer were analyzed by using FEM to design optimal strength and weight. Static load test was simulated by using commercial FEM code DEFORM-3D. Shapes of the retainer to reduce weight were designed and analyzed to verify validity of it. Simulated results and experimental ones were compared

        기상열화가 방부처리재의 구리성분 용탈에 미치는 영향

        본 연구는 앞서 발표한 「수용성 방부처리재의 촉진 기상열화 저항성 평가」의 부속실험으로서 기상열화가 방부처리재의 유효성분 중 구리의 용탈에 미치는 영향을 평가하기 위하여 수행되었다. ACQ, CCA, CuAz 처리시편을 대상으로 실시한 자외선 조사 유무에 따른 기상열화 조건에서 공통된 유효성분인 구리의 용탈량은 방부제의 종류에 관계없이 인공강우만 실시했을 때보다 자외선 조사를 함께 겸했던 시편에서 높게 나타났다. 방부처리 전후와 방부처리재의 촉진열화 전후의 목재표면을 FTIR을 이용하여 분석하였는데, 그 결과 구리가 정착되는 것으로 판단되는 1731 cm^(-1), 1625 cm^(-1), 1510 cm^(-1)흡수대가 촉진열화에 의해 큰 변화를 나타냈다. 이는 리그닌과 결합되었던 구리가 리그닌의 자외선 열화시 리그닌과 함께 용출 되었음을 시사한다. This is the second in a series of reports on the evaluation of weathering durability of waterborne preservative treated wood by accelcrated weathering. The leaching of copper from AC!-, CCA-, and CuAz-treated samples during weathering was increased by UV irradiation, when compared between full weathering and water-only weathering. The FTIR spectra of the weathered ACQ-, CCA, CuAz-treated samples at 1731㎝^(-1), 1625㎝^(-1), 1510㎝^(-1), which are related to the fixation of copper, were different from those of unweathered controls. This result menas that UV irradiation can weaken the chemical bond between lignin and copper and/or extraction of lignin-copper complex can be occured when lignin erode away by weathering.

        수용성 방부처리재의 기상열화 저항성 평가

        수용성 방부처리(AAC, CCA-3, ACQ, CuAz) 소나무 시편의 기상열화에 대한 저항성을 평가하기 위하여 인공촉진열화 방법을 사용하였다. 기상열화에 의한 재색 및 중량변화, 물리적 표면열화, 목재조직의 변화를 종합적으로 고려할 때, AAC 처리시편을 제외한 ACQ, CCA, CuAz 처리시편은 기상열화에 대한 저항성이 있음을 알 수 있었다. 이러한 몇몇 방부처리재가 기상열화에 대하여 저항성을 나타내는 요인탐색을 위해 기상열화 산물을 분석하였는데, 그 결과, ACQ, CCA, CuAz 처리시편에서는 낮은 리그닌 함량이 측정되어 기상열화 저항성을 가지는 처리시편은 리그닌 열화가 적게 일어남을 나타냈다. 이는 방부제 유효성분이 목재 주성분 중 기상열화에 민감한 리그닌 구조에 정착함으로써 리그닌 열화에 대한 저항성이 발현되었기 때문으로 판단된다. This study was carried out to evaluate the weathering durability of waterborne preservative (AAC, ACQ, CCA, CuAz) treated Japanese red pine (Pinus densiflora S. et Z.) sapwood samples by accelerated weathering, and to find out the factor of stability. When considered the color changes, weight losses, surface degradation, and microstructure changes due to weathering, ACQ-, CCA-, and CuAz-treated samples were durable against weathering; the weathering durability of AAC-treated samples was poor and similar to untreated controls. The lignin content in aqueous extracts collected from ACQ-, CCA-, and CuAz-treated samples during weathering was lower than from untreated and AAC-treated ones. From these findings, we might concluded the weathering durability of ACQ-, CCA-, and CuAz-treated samples was enhanced by the fixation of preservative component(s) onto the lignin structure, which is very susceptible to weathering.

        냉동 건조 탈회 동종골 이식후 골막이 골 형성 과정에 미치는 영향에 관한 실험적 연구

        Periosteum in general is described as a specialized fibrous membrane of mesenchymal origin consisting of two basis layers : outer fibrous layer consists of irregularly arranged dense connective-tissue with fibroblasts, and inner osteogenic or cambial layer is composed of more loosely arranged fibers, greater vascularity and flatted spindle-shaped pre-osteoblasts. This periosteum may serve in controlling bone growth, especially mandibular growth has been emphasized. But, the periosteum enwrapping the facial skeleton have been studied for many years leaving a controversy in opinion regarding the function of these structures. We evaluated the bone formation activity of te periosteum in allogeneic bone grafts which bones are made of freeze-dried preparation preoperatively. We made the calvarial bone defects, 5×7mm sized, amd grafted with allogeneic bone in rats, which a half of specimens has dissected the overlying periosteum and a rest intacted. After bone grafting, we evaluated the capacity ofbone formation of periosteum, 1, 2, 4, 6, 8 weeks postoperatively. There are subtle differences of bone formation during early healing period after demineralized allogeneic bone grafting between control groups with periosteum and experimental groups without periosteum.

        소뇌교각에 발생한 교모세포종 1례 : 증례보고 Case Report

        Glioblastomas rarely occur in the posterior fossa. The authors present clinical and pathological findings in a 59-year-old female patient with a glioblastoma growing primarily in the cerebello-pontine angle. The patient presented with a 1-month history of diplopia. Neurological examination revealed right-sided trigeminal and abducens nerve paresis. Cerebral magnetic resonance imaging showed a well-enhancing mass at cerebello-pontine angle. Following near total removal via petrosal approach, the pathological examination revealed a glioblastoma. To the authors knowledge, this represents the first case of glioblastoma arising at cerebello-pontine angle probably originating from the most proximal part of abducens nerve.
