AE-MDB 시험과 EuroNCAP 측면 시험 비교 연구

In response to enhanced regulation of vehicle safety, manufactures have improved vehicle design and stiffness. ECE Regulation 95 is a side impact test for European regulation and so be EuroNCAP side impact test for market requirement. Two tests are nearly same test method. However various researches report that ECE Regulation 95 barrier face does not reflect evolving vehicle design and impact performance. EEVC(European Enhanced Vehicle-safety Committee) Working Group 13 has recently made a proposal for an improved barrier face, AE-MDB(Advanced European-Mobile Deformable Barrier). In this paper, 2 tests -AE MDB, EuroNCAP Side test - were carried out and compared with current product vehicles with similar structure. The weight of AE-MDB is 550kg heavier and its deformable barrier face is stiffer than current EuroNCAP barrier. As a result, AE-MDB test shows higher vehicle velocity and dummy injuries (HIC36, rib compression, pelvis force) than EuroNCAP. However the differences of two test results were not that big due to airbag to protect dummy head and chest. Passenger dummy head contacted to c-pillar and injury was higher than driver dummy. So it needs to be installed restraint system to protect dummy head and chest like driver dummy. B-pillar intrusion of AE-MDB test increased 14% and rear of front door intrusion was increased.

Since 2003, the Korean NCAP(New Car Assessment Program) has included side impact tests. In these tests, a 950 kg moving barrier is collided into the driver side of the test vehicle at 55kph, in a direction perpendicular to the longitudinal center line of the test vehicle.[1] The Korean NCAP has recently investigated using the AE-MDB (Advanced European Mobile Deformable Barrier) in their testing to better represent the population of the vehicles on the road in Korea. It is necessary to improve side moving deformable barrier characteristics to reflect real world side collisions. The purpose of this study is to evaluate and compare the severity of the proposed Korean NCAP AE-MDB test at both 1300 kg and 1500 kg relative to the current 950 kg barrier test. Large-size, mid-size and small-size cars were tested.

Being studied in this paper AE-MDB side impact test and Side Pole test change the body injury results data analysis and evaluation methods KNCAP hatch side impact applied to the phase comparison should investigate.

In 2010, the number of accidents of side crash of car to car crash incidence is equivalent to 51.6 percent of the 86,156 cases. It had the highest proportion in a whole car accident. Also in the second half of 2010, cars registration of greater than or equal to 1,400 ㎏ and less than or equal to 1,600 kg is equivalent to 24% of the condition in the domestic passenger cars registration, which is showing the highest number of status. Therefore, to guarantee security of side crash, we tested KNCAP moving barrier(950㎏) with the AE-MDB(1500㎏) reflecting characteristics and design of the car on the market today and studied the effects on the vehicle structure deformation and dummy injury compared to the moving barrier of KNCAP.

Recently occupant protection is becomes important of each country, the New Car Assessment Program tests are to be strengthened. Korea NCAP and Euro NCAP crash test of the enhanced regulation will apply in 2015. The weight of AEMDB is 350kg heavier and 200mm wider than the Progressive MDB. This paper is purposed to analyze dynamic body deformation comparison between Korea NCAP side crash test with progressive MDB and AE-MDB. Through this analyze try to find out the relationship between the vehicle deformation and Occupant Injury
