      • Investment Climate Analysis of China and South Korea: Based on Grading Method

        Purpose - This study analyzes the investment environment of South Korea by using the rating scale of Robert B Stobaugh, Jr, and draws conclusion implication. Research design, data, and methodology - The study conducted a survey on according to the political stability, capital repatriation, foreign ownership allowed, discrimination and controls, foreign vs domestic businesses, currency stability, willingness to grant tariff protection, availability of local capital, and annual inflation for last 5 years. The score of these eight aspects will be given based on the current situation in South Korea and the sum of the scores will be calculated. Result - China-Korea economic and trade relations are in a stage of transformation and upgrading, and the level of economic and trade cooperation in various fields is reaching a new level. It is hoped that Chinese enterprises will grasp business opportunities, strengthen research and analysis of the Korea market and achieve mutually beneficial cooperation. Conclusion - The investment environment of South Korea is superior according to the political stability, capital repatriation, foreign ownership allowed, discrimination and controls, foreign vs domestic businesses, currency stability, willingness to grant tariff protection, availability of local capital, and annual inflation for last 5 years.

      • Does the supervisor-subordinate relationship affect the effectiveness of transformational leadership on organizational commitment?

        Purpose - By suggesting relational distance between supervisor and subordinate, this study examines the boundary condition of the impact of transformational leadership and organizational commitment in Korea. Research design, data, and methodology - We collected survey data from employees in various industries in Korea. A total of 241 employees participated in this study. We conducted the hierarchical linear regression and confirmed moderating effects of relational distances (democratic, structural and affective distance) on the relationship between transformational leadership and organizational commitment. Result - The results from 241 Korean employees show that transformational leadership is positively related to organizational commitment. Further, this relationship was moderated by structural distance and affective distance between supervisor and subordinate. Conclusion - This study shed new light on how exercising transformational leadership can help raise employees' organizational commitment. Organizations should be concerned about the various relational distance between supervisor and subordinate.

      • A Study of Innovation and Internationalization Strategies by a Hidden Champion Firm in Korea: The Case of CAP Corporation

        Purpose - This case study analyzes the internationalization strategy and innovation strategy as key factors contributing to the business success of CAP, a small and medium-sized manufacturing company in Korea producing auto parts such as wipers. This study describes the diversification strategies conducted by CAP Corporation and highlights the company's core competencies that have largely contributed to their global competitive success. Research design, data, and methodology - This paper provides in-depth case study on how CAP was able to grow into a hidden champion company, focusing on their strategies since its establishment. In particular, by analyzing the success factors centering on CAP's aggressive innovation strategy and internationalization strategy, it presents guidelines for small and medium-sized enterprises in Asian countries to become a Hidden Champion company. Result - CAP's product technology has successfully established innovative system on their product called 'vertebra spring' to distribute uniform pressure to the rubber to ensure performance as well as durability of their products. In order to continue benefiting from utilizing core competence and to continue pursuing technological advancement in the wiper industry, CAP has launched a wide range of products (flat blade, conventional blade, hybrid blade) applicable to 95% of the vehicle in the market. Conclusion - Taken together, CAP has many aspects of a hidden champion company by investing in R&D up to 8% of its annual sales to R&D investment even during the crises situation. This number is about 3.36 times higher than the average ratio of listed companies in Korea. Furthermore, the leadership of the management team as well as their vision toward the global market and strong commitment to innovation enabled CAP to become the world's fifth-largest wiper and Asia's No. 1 wiper manufacturer.

      • Prior Literature Investigation of the Human Resource Management (HRM) in the Fourth Industrial Revolution (4IR)

        Purpose - In this study, the current author explores how Human Resource Management (HRM) is changing in the context of the Fourth Industrial Revolution (4IR). Understanding the distinctive features of HRM in this day is crucial, given how rapidly industries are changing due to technology. Research design, data, and methodology - This study adopts a thorough literature review methodology to pinpoint and clarify these distinctive characteristics, advancing our understanding of the role of HRM in the modern world. Regarding methodology, this study uses the PRISMA approach to systematically gather pertinent publications from various sources that have undergone peer review. Result - By carefully choosing and examining these studies, the present author was able to identify four crucial HRM traits that are representative of the Fourth Industrial Revolution. The findings emphasizes how common flexible work schedules are. Using data analytics to influence HRM decisions is increasingly important for maximizing hiring, reviewing performance, and fostering organizational growth. Conclusion - By recalibrating their HRM practices in the 4IR, businesses may encourage flexibility, innovation, and employee well-being. This work makes a substantial contribution to both HRM theory and practice and our comprehension of the transformative effects of the 4IR by filling a gap in the existing literature.

      • Organizational Effectiveness of Korean Information and Communication Industry Employees : Focus on Organization Culture, Job Satisfaction, Organizational Commitment and Turnover Intention

        Purpose- The purpose of this study is to give implications on how to decrease employee turnover intention of Korean information and communication industry employees using organization culture, job satisfaction and organizational commitment. To do that this study analyzes relationships among variables and analyses mediating effect of job satisfaction and organizational commitment. Research design, data, and methodology- To analyze relationships among organization culture, job satisfaction, organizational commitment and turnover intention of employees, this study used the 7th KRIVET's HCCP employee data especially employees working in the information and communication industry who has more than university degree education. The analysis is conducted by using SPSS 21 and frequency analysis correlation analysis, regression analysis and mediating effect are analyzed by using MACRO PROCESS procedure for SPSS. Result- According to the empirical results, organization culture of innovation, relation and rational directed significantly affect both job satisfaction and organizational commitment. And job satisfaction and organizational commitment significantly affect each other. Turnover intention is significantly affected by job satisfaction, organizational commitment, innovation directed and hierarchy directed. However, the influence of innovation and hierarchy showed conflicting results. Conclusion- Based on this study result, implications to manage the turnover intention of Korean employees in the information and communication industry are discussed. Especially, the effect of organization culture, job satisfaction and organizational commitment is discussed. And the mediating role of job satisfaction and organizational commitment is also analyzed. Result implicates that cautious approach is needed in managing organization culture to employee attitude of job and organization is needed

      • A Study on Change in Automobile Distribution Structure : Focusing on Domestic Distribution

        Purpose - O2O (online to off-line) is a new economic concept being emerged in the 4<sup>th</sup> industrial age. Automobile distribution is also undergoing a change to the O2O system. In overseas, vehicles are already being sold through various online platforms. The purpose of this study is to analyze the domestic and foreign automobile distribution structure and intends to suggest the desirable direction of automobile sales in the 4th industrial age. Research design, data, and methodology - Through the investigation of previous studies and the actual cases, the advantages and disadvantages and trends of different types of automobile distribution structures. Result - It can be seen that domestic and foreign automobile brands have quite diverse distribution structures such as direct managed system, agency system, dealer system, direct sales system, online system and online/offline parallel system. Each type has its own characteristics. Conclusion - The distribution structure of automobiles is very diverse, and in particular, it is rapidly changing to an online sales system thanks to the development of information and communication technology and Internet technology and the popularization of smartphones. Through the online system, consumers can quickly and conveniently obtain vehicle information. Although the online sales system has many advantages, it requires continuous management

      • Do Industry 4.0 & Technology Affect Carbon Emission: Analyse with the STIRPAT Model?

        Purpose - The main purpose of the paper is to examine the variables affecting carbon emissions in different nations around the world. Research design, data, and methodology - To measure its impact on carbon emissions, secondary data has data of the top 50 Countries have been taken. The stochastic Impacts by Regression on Population, Affluence, and Technology (STIRPAT) model have been used to quantify the factors that affect carbon emissions. A modified version using Industry 4.0 and region in fundamental STIRPAT model has been applied with the ordinary least square approach. The outcome has been measured using both the basic and extended STIRPAT models. Result - Technology found a positive determinant as well as statistically significant at the alpha level of 0.001models indicating that technological innovation helps reduce carbon emissions. In total, 4 models have been derived to test the best fit and find the highest explaining capacity of variance. Model 3 is found best fit in explanatory power with the highest adjusted R2 (97.95%). Conclusion - It can be concluded that the selected explanatory variables population and Industry 4.0 are found important indicators and causal factors for carbon emission and found constant with all four models for total CO2 and Co2 per capita.

      • The Suggestion of a Mountaineering and Trekking Convergence Education Course Using AI

        Purpose - In Korea, where 64% of the land is forested, mountaineering is a leisure activity enjoyed by the majority of the people. As new technologies named the 4th industrial revolution spread more after the Covid-19 pandemic, we propose a human and technology convergence curriculum for mountaineering and trekking education to enjoy safety in the field of mountaineering and trekking using cutting-edge technology. Research design, data, and methodology - After examining the current state of the mountaineering industry and preceding studies on mountaineering and camping, and learning about BAC the 100 famous mountains, mountaineering gamification, and Gamification We designed an AI convergence curriculum using. Result - Understanding the topography and characteristics of mountains in Korea, acquiring mountaineering information through AI convergence, selecting mountaineering equipment suitable for the season, terrain, and weather, setting educational goals to safely climb, and deriving term project results. A total of 15 A curricula for teaching was proposed. Conclusion - Artificial intelligence technology is applied to the field of mountaineering and trekking and used as a tool, and it is expected that the base of mountaineering will be expanded through safe, efficient, fun, and sustainable education. Through this study, it is expected that the AI convergence education curriculum for mountaineering and trekking will be developed and advanced through several studies.

      • A study on the deployment status and development plan of retail technology

        Purpose - Faced with the great change of the 4th industrial revolution and the addition of the COVID-19 pandemic, great confusion and crises are occurring in the retail environment as well. The purpose of this study is to suggest the necessity of establishing a methodology for applying retail tech to offline distribution channels in crisis. Research design, data, and methodology - After examining the recent developments of representative fields to which retail technology is applied, it is rearranged through consideration through previous studies. Result - The retail industry must transform into digital commerce through digital transformation. According to the development of retail technology, the distribution industry is at a time of change from the stage of brokering product and service transactions to a structure that creates value based on information on production and consumption. The business model of the distribution industry must be converted to a platform business model in which both consumers and producers become users. Conclusion - In-depth analysis of the cases has not been conducted, and there are limitations in that the development is somewhat insufficient due to insufficient prior research data. However, it is meaningful to suggest the necessity of finding a methodology for applying retail technology to overcome the crisis of offline retailers through quantitative research on the retail technology area.
