國有 自然休養林의 空間的 特性과 利用者 餘暇패턴 分析 : 京畿道 有明山·仲美山을 事例로

The purpose of this study is to analyze the characteristics of Mt. Yoomyung and Mt. Joongmi nationalized recreational forest by examining the geographic environment and recreational facilities and users' leisure patterns. Literature review, field survey and questionnaire method have been used. The questionnaires numbering 604 were collected from 2 areas. The major findings of this paper are summarized as follows. First, as a result of the field survey, Mt. Yoomyung and Mt. Joongmi belong to 'nationalized forest' according to the right of ownership. From the analysis of the geographic locations, there are relationships with mutual competition and cooperation between 2 areas. In regard to the area and recreational facilities, Mt. Yoomyung showed higher degree of quality than Mt. Joongmi. Second, as for users' residential distributions, study areas belong to 'the Seoul metropolitan circle type'. In the case of users' travel behaviors, the type accompanied with family or friends was the most plentiful. As for the stay period, '1 night 2 day' was the most important. Driving a car was ranked first in traffic modes. Most users spent about 2 hours from their residences to the forest. As for preferred seasons, the favorite one was summer. Next was autumn, spring and winter. Third, in the case of motivation of leisure activities, users tend to prefer 'forest recreation' and 'a rest/recreation'. As for the degree of users' participation, 'forest recreation', 'the sightseeing of physical landscape' and 'relaxation/a simple rest' were higher than 'the gathering and purchase of forest goods' and 'the use of facilities'. They were positively concerned with the mountain location and physical environment. Fourth, from the analysis of users' satisfaction concerning natural resources, users were satisfied with 'physical landscape'. As for the level of recreational facilities, the value of lodging facilities is much higher than that of any other facilities. But as the level of satisfaction, Mt. Yoomyung were higher than that of Mt. Joongmi. Based on the findings of this paper, the following suggestions can be made. First, as a result of the study that focused on 2 areas, there is a need to increase multipurpose spaces for use during 4 seasons in nationalized recreational forests of Korea. Second, the development and managemental plan of the nationalized recreational forest should be linked with not only the income source of nationalized economy but also the place of forest recreation. Thus what is needed is to increase functions of forest recreation and economic income by establishing various recreational facilities. Third, in the case of the nationalized recreational forest, advertising strategies by using various media are needed in order to improve the name value of this forest. Management of recreational facilities is needed in order to harmonize physical environment, conservation and recreational use.
