Projections of pseudosphere in the Lorentz 3-space
Graciela S. Birman,Graciela M. Desideri 대한수학회 2007 대한수학회보 Vol.44 No.3
In this paper, we study the map projections from pseudo-sphere S21 onto the non-lightlike surfaces in the 3-dimensional Lorentzianspace,L3;with curvature zero. We show geometrical means and proper-ties ofR S11 cylindrical, S1 L cylindrical and R H 10 cylindricalprojections dened on S21 to cylinders R S11 ; S1 L and R H 10 ,respectively, and orthographic and stereographic projections on S21 toLorentzian plane, L2.
PROJECTIONS OF PSEUDOSPHERE IN THE LORENTZ 3-SPACE
Birman, Graciela S.,Desideri, Graciela M. Korean Mathematical Society 2007 대한수학회보 Vol.44 No.3
In this paper, we study the map projections from pseudo-sphere $S_1^2$ onto the non-lightlike surfaces in the 3-dimensional Lorentzian space, $L^3$, with curvature zero. We show geometrical means and properties of $\mathbb{R}{\times}S_1^1-cylindrical$, $S^1{\times}L-cylindrical$ and $\mathbb{R}{\times}H_0^1-cylindrical$ projections defined on $S_1^2$ to cylinders $\mathbb{R}{\times}S_1^1,\;S^1{\times}L$ and $\mathbb{R}{\times}H_0^1$, respectively, and orthographic and stereographic projections on $S_1^2$ to Lorentzian plane, $L^2$.

A previously unreported bacterial disease on chili pepper (Capsicum annuum L.) seedlings affecting as many as 4% of seedlings was observed in greenhouses in Chihuahua, Mexico (Delicias and Meoqui counties). Initial lesions appeared as irregular small spots on leaves and brown necrosis at margins tips were observed. Later, the spots became necrotic with a chlorotic halo. Advanced disease was associated with defoliation. A Gram negative, rod-shaped bacterium was isolated from diseased chili pepper seedlings. Three inoculation methods revealed that isolated strains produce foliage symptoms, similar to those observed in naturally infected seedlings. Pathogenic strains that caused symptoms in inoculated seedlings were re-isolated and identified to fulfill koch´s postulate. Polyphasic approaches for identification including biochemical assays (API 20E and 50CH), carbon source utilization profiling (Biolog) and 16S rDNA, hsp60 and rpoB sequence analysis were done. Enterobacter cloacae was identified as the causal agent of this outbreak on chili pepper seedlings.

The effects of red cactus pear encapsulationusing spray drying with soluble fiber were evaluated. Cactus pear juice was mixed with 15, 22.5, or 30% solublefiber and dried at 160, 180, or 200ºC. Juice showed highlevels of polyphenols, quercetin, kaempferol, isoharmetin, betacyanins, betaxanthins, and a high antioxidant activity. Increased soluble fiber amounts significantly (p<0.05)increased the pH, aw, water solubility index (WSI), L*, andb* values. Levels of polyphenols and betacyanins decreasedsignificantly (p<0.05) as the soluble fiber content and thedrying temperature increased, respectively. Encapsulationat 160ºC and 22.5% of soluble fiber yielded good physicalproperties and high bioactive compounds. Microscopicanalysis showed spherically shaped capsules, the shapewas affected by the concentration of added soluble fiber. Low soluble fiber concentrations were associated withmore collapsed capsules. Soluble fiber for encapsulatingcactus pear resulted in a powder with good properties thatcan be used as a food ingredient.
