      • Exponential Stabilization of Takagi–Sugeno Fuzzy Systems With Aperiodic Sampling: An Aperiodic Adaptive Event-Triggered Method

        <P>In this paper, we study the exponential stabilization problem for continuous-time Takagi–Sugeno fuzzy systems subject to aperiodic sampling. By aiming to transmission reduction, an appropriate aperiodic event-triggered communication scheme with adaptive mechanism is put forward, which covers the existing periodic mechanisms as special cases. For the sake of reduction in design conservativeness, both the available information of sampling behavior and threshold error are fully acquired by constructing a novel time-dependent Lyapunov functional. Then, a new exponential stability criterion is presented to establish the quantitative relationship among the adaptive adjusted event threshold, the decay rate, the upper bound, and the lower bound of variable sampling period, simultaneously. By resorting to a matrix transformation, the corresponding stabilization criterion is further derived by which the sampled-data controller can be obtained. Finally, two illustrative examples are provided to demonstrate the virtue and applicability of proposed design method.</P>

        User-Oriented Energy- and Spectral- Efficiency Tradeoff for Wireless Networks

        Conventional optimization designs of wireless networks mainly focus on spectral efficiency (SE) as a performance metric. However, as diverse media services are emerging, a green wireless network, which not only meets the quality of experience (QoE) requirements for users and also improves energy efficiency (EE), is the most appropriate solution. In this paper, we firstly propose the unit QoE per Watt, which is termed QoE efficiency (QEE), as a user-oriented metric to evaluate EE for wireless networks. We then analyze which is the kind of wireless resource given priority to use under different scenarios to obtain an acceptable QEE. Particularly, power, delay and data-rate related to QoE are separately addressed for several typical services, such as file download, video stream and web browsing services. Next, the fundamental tradeoffs are investigated between QEE and SE for wireless networks. Our analytical results are helpful for network design and optimization to strike a good balance between the users perceived QoE and energy consumption.

        Enhance Transparency of Force Feedback Interaction Series Mechanism by SMC Strategy

        To enhance the fidelity of virtual surgery, the force feedback interaction mechanism would simulatethe force information in real surgery. This paper first introduces evaluation methods of fidelity, then it exploresevaluation methods of force feedback fidelity, and put up the evaluation methods and indexes of force feedbackfidelity. In rigid force feedback interaction mechanism, fidelity is mainly shown as transparency. It means thetransfer function of the mechanism needs approach to 1, while friction, gravity, slip of the linear drive and otherfactors would affect transparency of the mechanism. This study introduces a 5-DOF (degree of freedom) forcefeedback series mechanism with long stroke. It discusses gravity compensation and simulation of typical virtualenvironment. It uses sliding mode control (SMC) to eliminate the effect of parameter variety, inaccurate modelingand other factors to improve system robustness. And it adds disturbance observer to the controller to eliminategravity inaccuracy. Finally, it evaluates the enhancement of force feedback fidelity.
