Control charts are generally used for process control, but the role of traditional control charts have been limited in case of a contaminated process. Traditional $\bar{x}$ control charts have not been activated well for such a problem because of trying to control processes as center line and control limits changed by the contaminated value. This paper is to propose robust $\bar{x}$ control charts which is considering a location parameter in order to respond to contaminated process. In this paper, we consider $\bar{x}_{\alpha}$, that is trimmed rate; typically ten percent rate is used. By comparing with p, ARL value, the responding results are decided. The comparison resultant results of proposed two control charts are shown and are well contrasted.

This paper suggests modified ${\bar{x}}$-s control chart based on robust estimation. In this paper, we consider the trimmed mean of the sample means and the trimmed mean of the sample standard deviations. By comparing with ARL value, the responding results are decided. The comparison resultant results of traditional control chart and modified control chart are contrasted.

The traditional process capability indices Cp, Cpk, Cpm, Cpm+ have been used to characterize process performance on the basis of univariate quality characteristics. Cp, Cpk consider the process variation, Cpm considers both the process variation and the process deviation from target and Cpm+ considers economic loss for the process deviation from target. In manufacturing industry, there is growing interest in quantitative measures of process variation under multivariate quality characteristics. The multivariate process capability index incorporates both the process variation and the process deviation from target or considers expected loss caused by the process deviation from target. This paper proposes multivariate capability index based on the expected loss derived from multivariate normal distribution.

Process capability indices have been widely used in manufacturing industries to provide a quantitative measure of process performance. The traditional process capability indices Cp, Cpk, Cpm, Cpm+ have been used to characterize process performance on the basis of quality characteristics. Cp, Cpk consider the process va- riation, Cpm considers both the process variation and the process deviation from target and Cpm+ considers economic loss for the process deviation from target. Taguch`s traditional quadratic loss function is inadequate for assessing quality and quality improvement because of different process and different sets of economic consequences in manufacturing. A flexible approach to developing loss function is desirable. The multivariate process capability index incorporates both the process variation and the process deviation from target or considers expected loss caused by the process deviation from target. This paper proposes a new capability index CpI using inverted normal loss function instead of the process variation that can be used to accurately reflect the losses associated with the process, and a new multivariate capability index MCpm+ using quality loss function instead of the process variation

This paper proposes performance measurement method of quality small-group activity in business. This paper collects and analyzes quality circle activities data respect to tangible and intangible effect in national quality circles competitions festival. This paper proposes QPI (quality-circle performance index) based on Balanced Scorecard for quality small-group activity in quality improvement area. QPI is to measure the performance of quality improvement activities in the business firms. QPI is able to use widely in industries to provide a performance measure of quality small-group activity. In this paper, we propose the application method of QPI.

This paper analyzed the management quality activities and performance based on industrial types. We divided the business into four industrial types, manufacturing industry, service industry, medical institution and public enterprise. We analyzed the differences of the elements of management quality in industrial types. The results show that leadership, measurement, analysis and knowledge management and workforce focus categories are not significant and strategic planning, customer and market focus, process management and performance categories are significant. This paper proposes the directions of management quality activities and performance according to industrial types based on these results.
