      • Towards Autonomous Grid : Solar, Wind, and Weather Data for Renewable Energy Production

        Nowadays, energy management and its optimization using smart devices are getting more attention due to their significant applications. Moreover, the applications used in these devices play a key role in developing smart cities that is only the way to solve urban problems. The potential of renewable energy sources like solar and wind power has been integrated in the smart grids to overcome the lack of supply via conventional fossil fuels and their environmental disputes that reduce operational cost. This review paper describes the significance of renewable power data that directly assists all the functions in smart cities such as the evolution of microgrids, renewable resources, energy forecasting, and power storage technologies. Furthermore, solar and wind power plants’ data with weather information as an additional cue is collected from different companies in South Korea. We aim to assist the researchers to develop artificial intelligence (AI)-based algorithms for power forecasting and establish its efficient management between suppliers and consumers.

        The pantograph for Korean High Speed Train was developed by home-grown technology. In this study, test and evaluation of the current collection performance of the pantograph is conducted. For this purpose, a measuring system is developed and installed on the prototype high speed train. Measurement is conducted while the train runs on the test track. The measuring system is composed of video monitoring system and telemetry & data processing system. It monitors the hazard behavior of the pantograph and measures acceleration and vertical force of the pan head. By applying the measuring system, accurate evaluation of the performance of the pantograph and safety assessment of the interface system of pantograph and catenary is facilitated.

        고등어 염장 중 콜레스테롤 산화물의 생성에 대한 아스코르빈산 및 BHA의 영향

        수산식품 중 비교적 다량의 다불포화지방산과 함께 콜레스테롤을 함유하고 있는 고등어를 50일간 염장하면서 콜레스테롤 및 지질의 산화와 이들 산화에 미치는 아스코르빈산 및 BHA의 영향에 대해 조사하였다. 고등어의 염장중 콜레스테롤은 계속 산화분해되어 대조군의 경우 50일간 염장한 후에는 23.3㎎/㎏으로 생 시료 함량의 33%에 불과했으나 아스코르빈산 첨가군은 염장 10~30일 사이에 비교적 콜레스테롤의 감소가 억제되었으며 BHA는 특히 100, 200㎎/㎏ 첨가한 실험군이 염장 50일 후에도 각각 생시료 함량의 80%와 85%를 보유함으로써 항산화효력을 크게 발휘하였다. 7-Ketocholesterol과 지질산화의 척도로 정량된 malonaldehyde의 함량변화는 대조군의 경우에는 비슷한 경향을 보였으나 항산화제의 첨가군에서는 제각기 다른 경향을 보였다. 즉, 7-ketocholesterol의 생성에 대해 아스코르빈산의 첨가는 염장 10일 이후로 계속 억제효과를 보였으나 BHA는 염장 초기부터 후기까지 항산화효과가 월등하였다. 한편 아스코르빈산 첨가군에서 malonaldehyde의 생성은 염장 10~30일 사이에만 대조군에 비해 약 40%가 억제되었으며 BHA 첨가군에서는 염장 초기부터 50일까지 억제효과가 뚜렷히 나타났다. 결론적으로 염장 고등어에서 지질과 콜레스테롤의 산화는 동시에 일어났으며 본 실험에서 사용된 아스코르빈산과 BHA는 모두 이들 산화에 대해 염장 30일까지 뚜렷한 항산화 효력을 나타내었고 특히 BHA의 첨가가 더 유효했다. The autoxidation of cholesterol and lipid was investigated in mackerel during its salting for 50 days. Furthermore, the effects of antioxidants such as ascorbic acid and BHA on their autoxidation were studied. The cholesterol of mackerel during salting was continuously decreased. Its content was quantified by 23.3㎎/100g in salted control sample after 50 days and that is only about 33% of total cholesterol content in fresh mackerel. The addition of BHA in mackerel during salting inhibited cholesterol oxidation more effectively than ascorbic acid. 7-Ketocholesterol, unique cholesterol oxidation products was detected in this experiment and malonaldehyde, one of lipid oxidation products, contineuosly increased in control sample all the salting days by the almost same pattern but in the additive samples of ascorbic acid or BHA by different patterns, respectively. BHA was more effective antioxidant against cholesterol and lipid autoxidation than ascorbic acid.

        식이성 Tungstate가 사염화탄소 투여에 의한 흰쥐 간 손상에 미치는 영향

        흰쥐를 tungstate첨가식이 및 tungstate를 첨가시키지 않은 표준식으로 약 1개월간 성장시킨 후 간 및 혈청 xanthine oxidase활성을 측정한 결과, xanthine oxidase활성이 표준식이군 보다 tungstate첨가식이군이 현저히 감소됨으로서 tungstate첨가식이군이 xanthine oxidase결핍 실험동물모델로 확인되었다. 이때 CCI₄투여 (0.1㎖/100g body wt., 1일 간격 두번)로 인한 간무게 및 혈청 alanine aminotransferase 활성 증가율과 간세포 중 단백질 감소율은 tungstate첨가식이군이 표준식이군 보다 낮게 나타났다. 또한 병리조직검사 소견에서도 tungstate첨가식이군이 표준식이군 보다 간손상의 정도가 낮게 나타났다. 따라서 tungstate식이군이 표준식이군 보다 간손상이 경미하게 나타남을 확인할 수 있었다. 한편 간조직 중 xanthine oxidase의 type O 활성은 대조군 및 CCI₄투여군 모두 tungstate첨가식이군이 표준식이군 보다 현저히 감소되었다. 그리고 간 microsomal aniline hydroxylase활성은 tungstate 식이군이 표준식이군 보다 높게 나타났으며, CCI₄투여로 인한 본 효소의 감소율 역시 tungstate 식이군이 표준식이군 보다 높게 관찰되었다. 또한 간조직 중 glutathione함량과 이의 포함효소인 glutathione S-transferase활성과 catalase, glutathione peroxidase, superoxide dismutase활성변동에 있어서는 대조군 및 CCI₄투여군 모두 표준식이군과 tungstate첨가식이군간에 대체적으로 통계적인 차이를 볼 수 없었다. 이상 실험결과로 보아 식이성 tungstate에 의한 CCI₄로 유도된 간손상의 감소현상은 xanthine oxidase의 활성이 tungstate에 의해 억제되므로써로 이로 인하여 인하여 oxygen free radical의 생성율이 저하된 때문에 나타난 결과로 생각된다. To evaluate the role of xanthine oxidase in liver damage by CCI₄, a group of rats were fed tungstate for a month, which suppressed the activities of xanthine oxidase in serum and liver. Control group of rats were fed standard diet without tungstate. Liver damage was induced both in tungstate fed and control groups by two intraperitoneal injections of CCI₄ at the level of 0.1㎖/100g body weight at intervals of 24 hours. Increases in the levels of serum alanine aminotransferase by CCI₄ were significantly smaller in tungstate fed rats than in control rats. Concomitantly, histopathologic changes were less in tungstate fed rats than in control ones. In rats either treated with CCI₄ or not, hepatic type O xanthine oxidase activities were remarkably reduced by tungstate feeding. Hepatic aniline hydroxylase activities, were higher in rats fed tungstate than control rats when animals were not treated with CCI₄, but the enzyme activities were lower in tungstate fed rats than control when they were treated with CCI₄. Neither tungstate feeding nor CCI₄ treatment caused any significant changes in hepatic glutathione contents, and activities of hepatic glutathione S-transferase, glutathione peroxidase and superoxide dismutase. It is concluded that xanthine oxidase reaction augment CCI₄ induced liver damage via oxygen free radical system.

        흰쥐의 肝 Xanthine Oxidase 활성에 미치는 Ethionine의 影響

        Liver and serum xanthine oxidase(XOD) activity were determined in rats treated with DL-ethionine. COIlcomitantly, the enzyme activity was compared with that of rats treated with CC14‘ actinomycin D and those fed a protein depleted diet. The activity of XOD in liver was inhibited by injection ethionine to the rats. But. there were no differences in activity of serum XOD between control group and ethionine-treated rats‘ And the pattern of changes in enzyme activity of serum and liver in ethionine-treated rats. was simiJar with actinomycin D treated rats or those fed a protein depleted diet. On the other hand , the activity of XOD was rather elevated both in serum and liver by injection of CC14 to rats

        폐쇄성 수면무호흡증 환자에서 하지불안증후군과 우울, 불안 및 불면과의 연관성

        Objectives:An association between obstructive sleep apnea syndrome(OSAS) and restless legs syndrome(RLS) has long been reported. Both syndromes are associated with depression, anxiety, insomnia, and daytime sleepiness. However, these relationships have not been studied extensively, and many questions remain unanswered. This study investigated the prevalence of RLS and its association with depression, anxiety, insomnia, and daytime sleepiness in OSAS patients in Korea. Methods:The study enrolled 152 Korean OSAS in patients Chonnam National University Hospital. The International Restless Legs Syndrome Study Group criteria and International Restless Legs Scale were used to determine the diagnosis and severity of RLS. To assess depression, anxiety, insomnia, and day time sleepiness, all patients completed the Beck Depression Inventory(BDI), Beck Anxiety Inventory(BAI), Insomnia Severity Index(ISI), and Epworth Sleepiness Scale(ESS). Results:Overall, 65(42.6%) patients met least one of the RLS diagnostic criteria, and 17(11.1%) were diagnosed with RLS. The mean BDI, BAI, and ISI scores were higher in subjects with RLS symptoms compared with those without such symptoms. ESS scores were not significantly associated with RLS symptoms. There were significant positive correlations between RLS severity and BDI(r=0.246, p=0.049), BAI(r=0.247, p=0.031), and ISI(r=0.275, p=0.026) scores. Conclusion:There were significant relationships between RLS symptoms and depression, anxiety, and insomnia. We recommend that patients with OSAS be evaluated for symptoms of RLS.
