        Comparison and Selection of Solar Radiation Data for Photovoltaic Power Generation Project

        Based on the measured solar radiation and power generation data of a 5.6 kW PV grid-connected system in Beijing from June of 2012 to December of 2016, the diff erences between the measured data and the data provided by solar energy databases are analyzed. The results show that the measured data is lower than 80–90% of the data provided by Meteonorm and NASA databases. The actual output of PV system is less than 60–75% of the estimated power generation according to the databases. Considering the errors between the database and the measured value, it is suggested to reduce the radiation data in the selected database by 10–20% during the PV power generation project feasibility research and design stage, and ensure that the estimation of power generation is closer to the actual power generation.

        Role of histone deacetylase activity in the developing lateral line neuromast of zebrafish larvae

        Histone deacetylases are involved in many biological processes and have roles in regulating cell behaviors such as cell cycle entry, cell proliferation and apoptosis. However, the effect of histone deacetylases on the development of hair cells (HCs) has not been fully elucidated. In this study, we examined the influence of histone deacetylases on the early development of neuromasts in the lateral line of zebrafish. Hair cell development was evaluated by fluorescent immunostaining in the absence or presence of histone deacetylase inhibitors. Our results suggested that pharmacological inhibition of histone deacetylases with inhibitors, including trichostatin A, valproic acid and MS-275, reduced the numbers of both HCs and supporting cells in neuromasts. We also found that the treatment of zebrafish larvae with inhibitors caused accumulation of histone acetylation and suppressed proliferation of neuromast cells. Real-time PCR results showed that the expression of both p21 and p27 mRNA was increased following trichostatin A treatment and the increase in p53 mRNA was modest under the same conditions. However, the expression of p53 mRNA was significantly increased by treatment with a high concentration of trichostatin A. A high concentration of trichostatin A also led to increased cell death in neuromasts as detected in a TUNEL assay. Moreover, the nuclei of most of these pyknotic cells were immunohistochemically positive for cleaved caspase-3. These results suggest that histone deacetylase activity is involved in lateral line development in the zebrafish and might have a role in neuromast formation by altering cell proliferation through the expression of cell cycle regulatory proteins.

        An investigation on the effects of irregular airfoils on the aerodynamic performance of small axial flow fans

        In this paper, the effects of airfoils on the aerodynamic performance of small axial flow fans were investigated to reduce airflow turbulence on the blade surface and to improve the aerodynamic performance of small axial flow fans. Irregular airfoils where several convex grooves are bound in the blade pressure surface of the fans have two kinds. The wave-shaped edge is bound to the blade trailing edge of the fans and is designed from the smooth airfoil of the fans. The filtered N-S equations with the finite volume method and the standard k-ε turbulence model were adopted to carry out the steady simulation calculation. The large eddy simulation and the FH-W noise models were adopted to carry out the unsteady numerical calculation and aerodynamic noise prediction. The results of simulation calculation are in good agreement with the tests, which proves that the numerical calculation method is feasible. The spectrum characteristics of aerodynamic noise of the smooth airfoil and the two kinds of irregular airfoils were analyzed. Although the fans of the three airfoils are regarded as noise sources, the vortex distribution features in the unsteady flow field are also described. Noise reduction mechanisms of the irregular designs of the airfoils were also discussed. The results of this research may provide proof of the parameter optimization and the structural design of small axial flow fans with low noise.

        Association of Perceived Stress With Depression Among Vaccinated Healthcare Workers During the SARS-CoV-2 Variant Outbreak: The Mediating Role of Compassion Fatigue

        Objective Depression was common during coronavirus disease-2019 (COVID-19) pandemic, while the association of perceived stress with depression among vaccinated healthcare workers has not been investigated. This study aimed to address this issue.Methods We included a total of 898 fully vaccinated healthcare workers during the outbreak of severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 Delta variant in Nanjing, 2021. Depression was ascertained by Patient Health Questionnaire-9, with a cut-off score of ≥5 indicative of mild-to-severe depression. Perceived stress, resilience, and compassion fatigue were assessed by Perceived Stress Scale-10, Resilience Scale-25, and Professional Quality of Life Scale version-5, respectively. Logistic regression analyses were used to estimate the odds ratio (OR) and 95% confidence interval (CI), along with subgroup and mediation analyses.Results The prevalence of mild-to-severe depression was 41.1% in vaccinated healthcare workers. The odd of mild-to-severe depression was increased with higher perceived stress. Compared with vaccinated healthcare workers with the lowest tertile of perceived stress, those with the highest tertile had increased odds of mild-to-severe depression by 120% (OR 2.20, 95% CI 1.46 to 3.31) after multivariable-adjustment. However, perceived stress was not associated with mild-to-severe depression in vaccinated healthcare workers with strong resilience, but was in those with weak resilience (p<sub>interaction</sub>=0.004). Further analysis showed that compassion fatigue mediated the relationship between perceived stress and mild-to-severe depression, with a mediating effect of 49.7%.Conclusion Perceived stress was related to an increased odd of mild-to-severe depression in vaccinated healthcare workers during COVID-19 pandemic, and this relationship might be explained by compassion fatigue.

        Expression of proline-rich protein 15 in breast cancer and its effect on cell biological function

        PRR15, a member of the proline-rich protein family, has been linked to a better prognosis in breast cancer patients and is highly expressed in a variety of cancer tissues. However, further research must be done on its biological role in breast cancer and its expression. The purpose of this work is to investigate the role of PRR15 in the proliferation, migration, and apoptosis of breast cancer cells as well as to confirm the differential expression of PRR15 in various subtypes of breast cancer tissues and cells. To analyse the differential expression of PRR15 in paracancerous tissues and various types of breast cancer tissues, GEPIA, Kaplan–Meier plotter, GEO, TCGA, and other bioinformatics websites and public databases were used. PRR15 expression in breast cancer tissue was significantly higher than that in normal breast tissue, and PRR15 expression in ER + breast cancer was significantly higher than that in ER- breast cancer. The results were confirmed by RT-PCR, Western Using molecular cloning, plasmids were created to produce cells that over express PRR15. Experiments on how cells behave showed that PRR15 overexpression had no impact on the growth, migration, or death of ER+ and ER− breast cancer cells when compared to control cells. Furthermore, the biological behavior of ER + breast cancer cells was unaffected by PRR15 knockdown.

        Wnt/β-catenin interacts with the FGF pathway to promote proliferation and regenerative cell proliferation in the zebrafish lateral line neuromast

        Wnt and FGF are highly conserved signaling pathways found in various organs and have been identified as important regulators of auditory organ development. In this study, we used the zebrafish lateral line system to study the cooperative roles of the Wnt and FGF pathways in regulating progenitor cell proliferation and regenerative cell proliferation. We found that activation of Wnt signaling induced cell proliferation and increased the number of hair cells in both developing and regenerating neuromasts. We further demonstrated that FGF signaling was critically involved in Wnt-regulated proliferation, and inhibition of FGF abolished the Wnt stimulation-mediated effects on cell proliferation, while activating FGF signaling with basic fibroblast growth factor (bFGF) led to a partial rescue of the proliferative failure and hair cell defects in the absence of Wnt activity. Whole-mount in situ hybridization analysis showed that the expression of several FGF pathway genes, including pea3 and fgfr1, was increased in neuromasts after treatment with the Wnt pathway inducer BIO. Interestingly, when SU5402 was used to inhibit FGF signaling, neuromast cells expressed much lower levels of the FGF receptor gene, fgfr1, but produced increased levels of Wnt target genes, including ctnnb1, ctnnb2, and tcf7l2, while bFGF treatment produced no alterations in the expression of those genes, suggesting that fgfr1 might restrict Wnt signaling in neuromasts during proliferation. In summary, our analysis demonstrates that both the Wnt and FGF pathways are tightly integrated to modulate the proliferation of progenitor cells during early neuromast development and regenerative cell proliferation after neomycin-induced injury in the zebrafish neuromast.

        Design and Implementation of a Novel Horizontal AFM Probe Utilizing a Quartz Tuning Fork

        This paper presents a new structure of a novel horizontal atomic force microscope probe utilizing a quartz tuning fork. The horizontal structure exhibits high resistance to environmental noise, and thus the probe can maintain good stability throughout the imaging work. The quartz tuning fork, which is utilized as a force sensor due to its simple mechanical structure and self-actuating and self-sensing characteristics, can significantly simplify the mechanical structure of the probe. The probe is divided into three parts: an approximation device, a force sensor, and a three-dimensional scanner. Each part is carefully designed to guarantee the imaging performance. It is verified that the proposed horizontal AFM probe is stable by conducting finite-element analysis, including modal analysis and noise analysis. Furthermore, the probe is fabricated and the experiments are performed to verify its stability. The proposed horizontal AFM probe combined with the existing control system in the frequency modulation succeeds in imaging within 25 μm × 25 μm and 20 μm × 20 μm ranges stably.

        A Comprehensive Review of Lipidomics and Its Application to Assess Food Obtained from Farm Animals

        Lipids are one of the major macronutrients essential for adequate growth and maintenance of human health. Their structure is not only complex but also diverse, which makes systematic and holistic analyses challenging; consequently, little is known regarding the relationship between phenotype and mechanism of action. In recent years, rapid advancements have been made in the fields of lipidomics and bioinformatics. In comparison with traditional approaches, mass spectrometry-based lipidomics can rapidly identify as well as quantify >1,000 lipid species at the same time, facilitating comprehensive, robust analyses of lipids in tissues, cells, and body fluids. Accordingly, lipidomics is now being widely applied in various fields, particularly food and nutrition science. In this review, we discuss lipid classification, extraction techniques, and detection and analysis using lipidomics. We also cover how lipidomics is being used to assess food obtained from livestock and poultry. The information included herein should serve as a reference to determine how to characterize lipids in animal food samples, enhancing our understanding of the application of lipidomics in the field in animal husbandry.

        신어 `-족` 파생어의 원형효과로 본 파생법 습득모형 고찰

        본고는 “신조어 자료집”(국립국어원 편)에 수집된 `-족`파생어와 기타 자료로부터 추출해낸 용례를 바탕으로 구조주의 문법과 인지의미론 연구방법을 이용하여 `-족`파생어의 형태론적 구성과 의미적 특징에 대한 다양한 고찰을 진행함으로써 접미사 `-족`의 원형효과에 기반한 제2언어 한국어 학습자들의 파생법 습득모형을 모색해 보고자 한다. 접미사 `-족`은 한국어 신어 파생의 매우 활약적인 구성원으로 학계의 주목을 끌어왔지만 원형이론에 입각한 형태·의미론적 연구 및 파생법 습득모형에 대한 탐구는 보다 세밀한 연구가 필요한 실정이다. 본고는 구조주의 관점에 입각하여 신어에서 `-족` 파생어의 형태·의미적 특징을 밝히고 이를 바탕으로 인지의미론의 원형이론을 이용하여 파생법지도 방안을 모색하였는 바 `-족`에서 `기타 한자어 인칭접미사`로, `전형`에서 `비전형`의 순으로 파생법을 지도하고 습득하 것이 바람직하다는 결론에 이른다. This paper studies the derivatives of “-zu” from neologism collections gathered by the National Institute of Korean Language and other theories on structuralism and cognitive semantics. In addition, according to the prototype of neologism “-zu,” it also studies the derived acquisition mode of those who learn Korean as their second language. Though learners focus on the productive neologism “-zu,” there is a lack of relevant study on word forms and semantic characters in prototype theory and derived acquisition models. Therefore, this paper analyzes word forms and semantic characters of neologism derived from the affix “-zu” through the theory of cognitive semantics, and concludes that the guided strategy for study of word derivation in prototype theory is based on the “suffix of words formed by characters-suffix of fixed words” order such as, “noun-verb-adjective-adverb”, “personal-impersonal” etc. to learn derivatives.
