To study the effect of nicorandil pretreatment on ketone body metabolism and Acetyl-CoA acetyltransferase (ACAT1) activity in hypoxia/reoxygenation (H/R)-induced cardiomyocytes. In our study, we applied H9c2 cardiomyocytes cell line to evaluate the cardioprotective effects of nicorandil. We detected mitochondrial viability, cellular apoptosis, reactive oxygen species (ROS) production and calcium overloading in H9c2 cells that exposed to H/R-induced cytotoxicity. Then we evaluated whether nicorandil possibly regulated ketone body, mainly ${\beta}$-hydroxybutyrate (BHB) and acetoacetate (ACAC), metabolism by regulating ACAT1 and Succinyl-CoA:3-ketoacid coenzyme A transferase 1 (OXCT1) protein and gene expressions. Nicorandil protected H9c2 cardiomyocytes against H/R-induced cytotoxicity dose-dependently by mitochondria-mediated anti-apoptosis pathway. Nicorandil significantly decreased cellular apoptotic rate and enhanced the ratio of Bcl-2/Bax expressions. Further, nicorandil decreased the production of ROS and alleviated calcium overloading in H/R-induced H9c2 cells. In crucial, nicorandil upregulated ACAT1 and OXCT1 protein expressions and either of their gene expressions, contributing to increased production of cellular BHB and ACAC. Nicorandil alleviated cardiomyocytes H/R-induced cytotoxicity through upregulating ACAT1/OXCT1 activity and ketone body metabolism, which might be a potential mechanism for emerging study of nicorandil and other $K_{ATP}$ channel openers.

Xanthomonas oryzae pv. oryzae (Xoo) strains are plant pathogenic bacteria that can cause serious blight of rice, and their virulence towards plant host is complex, making it difficult to be elucidated. Caenorhabditis elegans has been used as a powerful model organism to simplify the host and pathogen system. However, whether the C. elegans is feasible for studying plant pathogens such as Xoo has not been explored. In the present work, we report that Xoo strains PXO99 and JXOIII reduce the lifespan of worms not through acute toxicity, but in an infectious manner; pathogens proliferate and persist in the intestinal lumen to cause marked anterior intestine distension. In addition, Xoo triggers (i) the p38 MAPK signal pathway to upregulate its downstream C17H12.8 expression, and (ii) the DAF-2/DAF-16 pathway to upregulate its downstream gene expressions of mtl-1 and sod-3 under the condition of daf-2 mutation. Our findings suggest that C. elegans can be used as a model to evaluate the virulence of Xoo phytopathogens to host.

Objective: This study was conducted to investigate the potential effects of prolonged photoperiod on the serum lipids, carcass traits, and meat quality of Jinjiang cattle during winter. Methods: Thirty-four Jinjiang bulls aged between 14 and 16 months were randomly assigned to two groups that were alternatively subjected to either natural daylight +4 h supplemental light (long photoperiod, LP) or natural daylight (natural photoperiod, NP) for 96 days. The potential effects on the levels of serum lipids, carcass traits, meat quality, and genes regulating lipid metabolism in the intramuscular fat (IMF) of the cattle were evaluated. Results: Jinjiang cattle kept under LP showed significant increase in both dry matter intake and backfat thickness. the serum glucose and the plasma leptin levels were significantly reduced, while that of melatonin and insulin were observed to be increased. The crude fat contents of biceps femoris muscle and longissimus dorsi muscle were higher in LP than in NP group. In longissimus dorsi muscle, the proportions of C17:0 and C18:0 were significantly higher but that of the C16:1 was found to be significantly lower in LP group. The relative mRNA expressions in IMF of longissimus dorsi muscle, the lipid synthesis genes (proliferator-activated receptor gamma, fatty acid-binding protein) and the fatty acid synthesis genes (acetyl-coa carboxylase, fatty acid synthetase, 1-acylglycerol-3-phosphate acyltransferase) were significantly up-regulated in LP group (p<0.05); whereas the hormone-sensitive lipase and stearoyl-CoA desaturase 1 were significantly down-regulated in LP than in NP group. Conclusion: Prolonged photoperiod significantly altered the growth performance, hormonal levels, gene expression and fat deposition in Jinjiang cattle. It suggested that the LP improved the fat deposition by regulating the levels of different hormones and genes related to lipid metabolism, thereby improving the fattening of Jinjiang cattle during winter.

This paper presents a fuzzy normal estimate for mass point clouds of irregular models in reconstruction. The irregular model is complex object that some part is smooth and some parts are irregular including sharp features. Therefore, we put kNN and curvature of mass point clouds to fuzzy inference system to divide the kind of point clouds and the output of FIS can determine which part of tooth point clouds belong to. For different kinds point clouds, corresponding algorithm is given. Point clouds in the smooth area are estimated normal by PCA directly and ones in other regions of thin or sharp area are estimated by checker and attach points. This method is simpler than those complex methods used on the whole point clouds directly. The experiment results show that much time is saved and surface reconstruction is very fine than PCA and WLOP.
중국 귀주성 초등학생의 피아노 교습경험이 정서에 미치는 영향에 관한 연구

목적 이 연구의 목적은 피아노 교습 경험의 정도에 따라 정서적 차이를 분석함으로써 초등학생들에 대한 정서교육의 구체적인 방법을 제시하고자 함이다. 방법 연구의 대상은 중국 귀주성 H초등학교 4~6학년 학생들을 대상으로 하였다. SPSS 25의 프로그램은 정서의 하위변인들인 각 걱정, 두려움, 분노, 활동 및 사교성에 관한 신뢰도, t검증, F검증 등을 하는 데 사용되었다. 결과 이 연구의 결과들에 따르면 제각기 걱정, 두려움 및 분노의 정서에 대해서는 교습기간이 12주가 지난 후의 사후검사에서 피아노 교습경험을 한 실험군이 피아노 교습경험을 안 한 대조군에 비해서 유의수준 p≤.05에서 걱정, 두려움, 분노의 정서값이 통계적으로 유의하게 감소 되었음을 확인하였다. 각 활동과 사교성의 정서에 대해서는 교습경험이 12주가 지난 후의 사후검사에서 피아노 교습경험을 한 실험군이 피아노 교습경험을 안 한 대조군에 비해서 유의수준 P≤.05에서 활동과 사교성의 정서값이 통계적으로 유의하게 증가 되었음을 발견하였다. 결론 그러므로 본 연구의 피아노 교습경험 조건에서 제각기 걱정, 두려움, 분노, 활동, 사교성의 정서에 대해 유의수준 P≤.05에서 피아노 교습경험의 긍정적인 정서의 효과를 가져오기 위해서는 최소 12주 이상의 피아노 교습경험이 필요함을 확인하였다. Objectives The purpose of this study is to present specific methods of emotional education for primary school students by analyzing emotional differences depending on the duration of piano lesson. Methods The subjects of the study were students from academic year 4 to 6 in a Elementary School of Guizhou Province, China. The SPSS 25 program was used to perform reliability, t-verification, and F-verification in each of the subvariables of emotion: anxiety, fear, anger, activity and sociability. Results The results of this study show that for each emotion of worry, fear, and anger, the experimental group that took piano lesson experience after 12 weeks of teaching compared to the control group that did not take piano lesson experience confirmed that the emotional values of anxiety, fear, and anger were statistically significantly reduced at p≤.05 level. For each activity and sociability, the experimental group with piano lesson experience in the post-test after 12 weeks compared to the control group without piano lesson experience found significant statistical increases in the emotional value of activity and sociability at p≤.05 level. Conclusions Therefore, under the piano lesson experience conditions of this study, we confirmed that the piano lesson experience for both decrease of ‘worry, fear, anger’ and increase of ‘activity, sociability’ are needed at least 12 weeks to bring about the positive emotional effects at p≤.05 level.
