Reactivation of spent FCC catalyst by mixed acid leaching for efficient catalytic cracking

Guojian Lu,Xinyu Lu,Pei Liu 한국공업화학회 2020 Journal of Industrial and Engineering Chemistry Vol.92 No.-

This work focuses on the reactivation offluid catalytic cracking (FCC) catalyst via mixed acid to leach outpollutant Ni and Fe oxides and reserve acidic sites provider Al2O3 in zeolite. The micro-structure,morphology and chemical composition of reactivated catalysts were characterized by X-ray diffraction(XRD), scanning electron microscope (SEM), and energy dispersive X-ray analysis (EDXA), respectively. The change of micro-structure and catalytic performance of the catalyst after reactivation werediscussed. The blocked micro- and meso-pores in the spent catalyst are opened by acid leaching, and thespecific surface area is doubled, which is close to that of fresh catalyst. The catalytic performance of thereactivated catalyst is evaluated in heavy oil micro-reactor. It results in 6.3% increase of conversion thanthe spent catalyst, and 2.31% increase of gasoline yield and 11.60% increase of diesel yield. This method forspent FCC catalyst reactivation has strong practicability and is of great significance for environmentprotection and resources recycling.

Outcomes of Anti-CD19 CAR-T Treatment of Pediatric B-ALL with Bone Marrow and Extramedullary Relapse

        Xinyu Wan,Xiaomin Yang,Fan Yang,Tianyi Wang,Lixia Ding,Lili Song,Yan Miao,Xiang Wang,Yani Ma,Chengjuan Luo,Jingyan Tang,Longjun Gu,Jing Chen,Yanjing Tang,Jun Lu,Benshang Li 대한암학회 2022 Cancer Research and Treatment Vol.54 No.3

PurposeAnti-CD19 chimeric antigen receptor T-cell immunotherapy (19CAR-T) has achieved impressive clinical results in adult and pediatric relapsed/refractory (r/r) B-lineage acute lymphoblastic leukemia (B-ALL). However, the application and effect of CAR-T therapy in B-ALL patients with extramedullary relapse are rarely issued even disqualified in some clinical trials. Here, we examined the efficacy of 19CAR-T in patients with both bone marrow and extramedullary involvement.Materials and MethodsCAR-T cells were generated by transfection of primary human T lymphocytes with a lentiviral vector expressing anti-CD19 single chain antibody fragments (scFvs) with the cytoplasmic domains of 4-1BB and CD3ζ, and used to infuse patients diagnosed as having r/r B-ALL with extramedullary origination. Clinical responses were evaluated by the use of bone marrow aspiration, imaging, and flow cytometry. ResultsEight patients received 19CAR-T infusion and all attained complete remission (CR). Only one patient was bridged to hematopoietic stem cell transplantation (HSCT). Although three patients relapsed after infusion, they received 19/22CAR-T infusion sequentially and attained a second remission. To date, five patients are in continuous CR and all eight patients are still alive. The mean follow-up time was 21.9 months, while the 24-month estimated event-free survival is 51.4%. Conclusion19CAR-T therapy can lead to clinical remission for extramedullary relapsed pediatric B-ALL patients. However, the problem of CD19+ relapses after CAR-T remained to be solved. For patients relapsing after CAR-T, a second CAR-T therapy creates another opportunity for remission for subsequent HSCT.

NaCl Treatment Improves Reactive Oxygen Metabolism and Antioxidant Capacity in Broccoli Sprouts

        Lu Tian,Xinyue Li,Runqiang Yang,Zhenxin Gu 한국원예학회 2016 Horticulture, Environment, and Biotechnology Vol.57 No.6

We investigated membrane lipid peroxidation, reactive oxygen species (ROS) metabolism, antioxidant component content, and antioxidant enzyme activity to understand how NaCl regulates the growth of broccoli sprouts. NaCl treatment significantly increased ROS and malondialdehyde content, and electrolyte permeability in broccoli sprouts. Ascorbic acid and anthocyanin content also increased, simultaneously and significantly. During germination, treatments with 40 mM and 80 mM NaCl significantly promoted broccoli sprouts growth, likely because of ability to enhance antioxidant activity, thus alleviating the effect of stress.

Point-to-point motions control of an electromagnetic direct-drive gas valve

Jiayu Lu,Siqin Chang,Liang Liu,Xinyu Fan 대한기계학회 2018 JOURNAL OF MECHANICAL SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY Vol.32 No.1

Electromagnetic linear actuators are widely used as drives in gas regulating valve, which is the key factor to determine the performance of the gas valve. In order to improve the performance of Electromagnetic direct-drive gas valve (EMDGV), a compound controller for non-repetitive point-to-point motions was proposed in this paper, combining with the advantages of Active disturbance rejection control (ADRC), Time-optimal control (TOC) and Sliding mode control (SMC). Simulation and experimental results show that the proposed method has the characteristics of fast response and high precision, and can achieve soft landing control. The response time is less than 8 ms, the control accuracy is 0.02 mm, and the seating velocity is within 0.04 m/s. The proposed method also has strong robustness to actuator parameter variation and good anti-disturbance ability.

Phenotypes and Prognostic Factors of Syringomyelia in Single-Center Patients With Chiari I Malformation: Moniliform Type as a Special Configuration

        Chunli Lu,Longbing Ma,Chenghua Yuan,Lei Cheng,Xinyu Wang,Wanru Duan,Kai Wang,Zan Chen,Hao Wu,Gao Zeng,Fengzeng Jian 대한척추신경외과학회 2022 Neurospine Vol.19 No.3

Objective: The specific association between morphometric characteristics of the syrinx and the prognosis of Chiari malformation type I (CM-I) with syringomyelia following surgical procedure seems to have not been fully elaborated. This study focused on the preoperative clinical and radiologic parameters in CM-I patients with syringomyelia to find out the relationship between the patients’ clinical status and the phenotypes of the syrinx with surgical outcome. Methods: A continuous series of pediatric and adult patients with CM-I and syringomyelia from a prospectively maintained database in a single center were included, and we explored the related factors affecting the prognosis following decompression surgery through retrospective analysis of clinical presentations, imaging characteristics, and the morphological features of syringomyelia, to provide a clinical reference for the treatment of syringomyelia. Results: There were 28 pediatric patients (13.8%), and 174 adults (86.2%) included in our study. The average Chicago Chiari Outcome Scale score was 14.56 ± 1.78. The overall prognosis after surgery was good in our series, among them 152 cases (75.25%) with a favorable prognosis, and syrinx was resolved effectively in 172 cases (85.15%). According to the univariate and multivariate analyses, the preoperative symptom duration, observation time, and with/without moniliform type were independent factors affecting the prognosis in adults. The most obvious difference between moniliform type and nonmoniliform type lies in the preoperative symptom duration, ventral subarachnoid space at the foramen magnum, and with/without straightened cervical physio-curve. Conclusion: Timely decompression surgery could achieve a better outcome in CM-I patients with syringomyelia. Moniliform syringomyelia may suggest a relatively better prognosis.

Clinical and Immunological Factors Associated with Postpartum Hepatic Flares in Immune-Tolerant Pregnant Women with Hepatitis B Virus Infection Treated with Telbivudine

( Junfeng Lu ),( Xiaoxiao Wang ),( Yunxia Zhu ),( Lina Ma ),( Sujun Zheng ),( Zhongjie Hu ),( Xinyue Chen ) 대한간학회 2021 Gut and Liver Vol.15 No.6

Background/Aims: To investigate postpartum hepatic flares and associated factors in highly viremic pregnant patients in the immune tolerance phase who adopted telbivudine (LdT) treatment in the last trimester to reduce vertical transmission of hepatitis B virus. Methods: Hepatitis B e antigen (HBeAg)-positive, highly viremic pregnant women were recruited for this prospective study. Treatment with LdT was started from 28 weeks of gestation. Virological and biochemical markers were examined before LdT treatment, antepartum and postpartum. Serial blood samples at the same time were collected to detect cytokines and cortisol (COR). Results: Fifty-six of 153 patients (36.6%) had postpartum hepatic flares, defined as a 2-fold increase in alanine aminotransferase 6 weeks after delivery. Age and the antepartum alanine aminotransferase and postpartum HBeAg levels were independent influencing factors of postpartum hepatic flares. Cytokines showed no regularity during or after pregnancy. Compared with the patients with no postpartum flares, the patients with flares had lower baseline interferon γ and COR levels (p=0.022 and p=0.028) and higher postpartum interferon γ levels (p=0.026). Conclusions: A high proportion of highly viremic and immune-tolerant pregnant patients treated with LdT in the last trimester had postpartum hepatic flares, which implied that these patients entered the immune clearance phase after delivery. Thus, this may create an appropriate opportunity for re-antiviral therapy. (Gut Liver 2021;15:887-894)

Enhanced Photocatalytic Activity and Selectivity of a Novel Magnetic PW@PEDOT Imprinted Photocatalyst with Good Reproducibility

        Ziyang Lu,Zehui Yu,Jinbo Dong,Xinyu Xiong,Lin Gao,Minshan Song,Yang Liu,Di Fan,Yongsheng Yan,Pengwei Huo 성균관대학교(자연과학캠퍼스) 성균나노과학기술원 2018 NANO Vol.13 No.2

The novel magnetic PW-doped PEDOT (PW@PEDOT) imprinted photocatalyst with good reproducibility was prepared by the surface imprinting technique and microwave heating method. Due to the existence of PW@PEDOT and imprinted cavity in the imprinted layer, the as-prepared magnetic PW@PEDOT imprinted photocatalyst not only had higher photocatalytic activity, but also had the excellent specific recognition ability for selective photodegradation of TC. This paper proposed a new idea to prepare the imprinted photocatalysts.

The Physiological Occlusion of the Central Canal May Be a Prerequisite for Syringomyelia Formation

        Chuan Jiang,Xinyu Wang,Chunli Lu,Qian Li,Longbing Ma,Wei Li,Shengyu Cui,Kang Li,Xiang Wang,Yuxin Feng,Fengzeng Jian 대한척추신경외과학회 2023 Neurospine Vol.20 No.4

Objective: Syringomyelia is a common central nervous system disease characterized by the dilation of the central canal (CC). Regarding the pathogenesis of syringomyelia, cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) circulation obstruction in the subarachnoid space (SAS) of the spinal cord has been widely accepted. However, clinical and animal studies on obstructing the CSF in SAS failed to form syringomyelia, challenging the theory of SAS obstruction. The precise pathogenesis remains unknown. Methods: We utilized an extradural compression rat model to investigate the pathogenesis underlying syringomyelia. Magnetic resonance imaging enabled detection of syringomyelia formation. To assess CSF flow within the SAS, Evans blue was infused into the cisterna magna. Histological analysis allowed morphological examination of the CC. Furthermore, CSF flow through the CC was traced using Ovalbumin Alexa-Flour 647 conjugate (OAF-647). Scanning electron microscopy (SEM) enabled visualization of ependymal cilia. Results: The findings showed that the dura mater below the compression segment exhibited lighter coloration relative to the region above the compression, indicative of partial obstruction within the SAS. However, the degree of SAS occlusion did not significantly differ between syringomyelia (SM-Y group) and those without (SM-N group). Intriguingly, hematoxylin and eosin staining and CSF tracing revealed occlusion of the CC accompanied by reduced CSF flow in the SM-Y group compared to SM-N and control groups. SEM images uncovered impairment of ependymal cilia inside the syringomyelia. Conclusion: CC occlusion may represent a physiological prerequisite for syringomyelia formation, while SAS obstruction serves to initiate disease onset. The impairment of ependymal cilia appears to facilitate progression of syringomyelia.

Low salinity promotes the growth of broccoli sprouts by regulating hormonal homeostasis and photosynthesis

        Pei Wang,Xinyue Li,Lu Tian,Zhenxin Gu,Runqiang Yang 한국원예학회 2019 Horticulture, Environment, and Biotechnology Vol.60 No.1

Broccoli sprouts produce several bioactive compounds and are recognized as a health-promoting vegetable. In this study, the eff ect of salinity (NaCl) on the growth of broccoli sprouts was investigated. Broccoli seeds were germinated for 4 and 8d with spraying 0–120 mM NaCl and then harvested to evaluate changes in endogenous hormones, photosynthetic indices, chlorophyll fl uorescence parameters and chloroplast ultrastructure. The growth of sprouts was signifi cantly promoted by lowsalinity (40 and 80 mM NaCl) and inhibited by high salinity treatment (120, 160 and 200 mM NaCl). In 8-day-old sproutstreated with 80 mM NaCl, levels of abscisic acid, cytokinin, brassinolide, indole-3-acetic acid and gibberellic acid weresignifi cantly enhanced, while net photosynthetic rate increased in low salinity conditions was due to the elevated chlorophyllcontent and increased photosystem II activity. Furthermore, low salinity increased the leaf area maximally in both 4- and8-day-old sprouts. Enlarged chloroplast and an increased number of grana also contributed to improved photosynthesis. Low salinity conditions induced endogenous growth hormone synthesis and improved photosynthesis, thereby promotingthe growth of broccoli sprouts. This study provides a theoretical basis for the improved production of broccoli sprouts inlow salinity conditions.
