Numerical simulation on aerodynamic characteristics of moving van under the train-induced wind

Jiajun He,Huoyue Xiang,Wenyuan Ren,Yong-Le Li 한국풍공학회 2021 Wind and Structures, An International Journal (WAS Vol.33 No.1

Constructing combined highway–railway bridge brings concerns regarding the aerodynamic interference between train and road vehicle. Research on the interaction mechanism can help calculate the vehicle response for the assessment of travelling safety. In this work, computational fluid dynamics (CFD) verified by a moving model test was applied on researching the aerodynamic characteristics of a moving van under the influence of train-induced wind. Two processes - encounter process (train and van drive towards each other) and chase process (train surpasses the van), are compared. The aerodynamic forces and pressure distribution of the van as well as the flow fields around the vehicles during the interaction are analyzed coherently. The results reveal that the adjacent positive and negative pressure zones around the nose and tail of the train bring moving and centralized high-pressure zone on the van’s flank and generate significant aerodynamic variations, each variation contains at least two peak/valley values, and the middle carriage provide a stable transition between. Different superposition effect of the pressure zones results in difference between the encounter process and chase process, the variation trend of drag force and lift in the two processes are similar while the encounter has larger variation amplitude, in terms of pitching moment and yawing moment, more inversions of force happen in the encounter process but the variation amplitude is smaller. When the van runs near the nose of the train in the encounter, it gets the largest variation of drag force, lift force and rolling moment, while the largest variation of yawing moment and pitching moment happens when it runs near the nose of the train in the chase process.

Sonication-Assisted Synthesis of Molybdenum Disulfide Aerogel for the Electrode Materials of Supercapacitors

        Qiang Zhang,Wenyuan He,Yinmin Wang,Dazhao Pei,Xue Jun Zheng 성균관대학교(자연과학캠퍼스) 성균나노과학기술원 2019 NANO Vol.14 No.5

The sonication processing was added in front of the freeze-drying as an intermediate processing before the molybdenum disulfide (MoS2) aerogel was synthesized. It is distinguishing with the traditional hydrothermal reaction to combine the sonication processing and freeze-drying in our method. The structure, morphology, specific surface area and pore size distribution were characterized, and the electrochemical performances were measured in 0.5M Na2SO4 electrolyte for the MoS2 aerogel and flower-like MoS2. As for comparison, they are of porous structure and microsphere structure, and their specific surface areas are 55.14 m2 g -1 and 38.12 m2 g -1. The specific capacitances are 166.7 F g -1 and 119.2 F g -1 at the scan rate of 5 mV s -1, and the capacity retentions are 87.7% and 81.6% after 3000 charge/discharge cycles. For the enhanced mechanism, the high specific surface of the MoS2 aerogel causes high specific capacitance, and the unique porous structure could buffer volume expansion to improve retention ability during charge/discharge processes. The MoS2 aerogel may thus be a promising electrode material for supercapacitors.

A simple electrospinning strategy to achieve the uniform distribution of ultra‑fine CoP nanocrystals on carbon nanofibers for efficient lithium storage

        Qinghua Wang,Wei Wang,Junlin Huang,Hong Yin,Yucan Zhu,Haitao Wang,Minjie Zhou,Binhong He,Zhaohui Hou,Wenyuan Xu 한국탄소학회 2023 Carbon Letters Vol.33 No.1

Transition-metal phosphides (TMPs), a promising anode material for lithium-ion batteries (LIBs), are limited in application because of its serious volume effect in the cycle. In this work, a simple electrospinning strategy was proposed to restrict the grain size of CoP nanocrystals by nano-confined effect of carbon nanofibers with ligands. The addition of ligands not only could realize the uniform dispersion of CoP nanocrystals, but also strengthen the bond between the metals and carbon nanofibers. As a result, the CoP/CNF composite exhibits excellent lithium storage performance, and its reversible specific capacity could reach 1016.4 mAh g? 1 after 200 cycles at a current density of 200 mA g? 1. The research is anticipated to provide a new idea for the preparation of anode materials for lithium ion batteries.
