UHRF2 is a member of the ubiquitin plant homeo domain RING finger family, which has been proven to be frequently up-regulated in colorectal cancer cells and play a role as an oncogene in breast cancer cells. However, the role of UHRF2 in glioma cells remains unclear. In this study, we performed real-time quantitative PCR on 32 pathologically confirmed glioma samples (grade I, 4 cases; grade II, 11 cases; grade III, 10 cases; and grade IV, 7 cases; according to the 2007 WHO classification system) and four glioma cell lines (A172, U251, U373, and U87). The expression of UHRF2 mRNA was significantly lower in the grade III and grade IV groups compared with the noncancerous brain tissue group, whereas its expression was high in A172, U251, and U373 glioma cell lines. An in vitro assay was performed to investigate the functions of UHRF2. Using a lentivirus-based RNA interference (RNAi) approach, we down-regulated UHRF2 expression in the U251 glioma cell line. This down-regulation led to the inhibition of cell proliferation, an increase in cell apoptosis, and a change of cell cycle distribution, in which S stage cells decreased and G2/M stage cells increased. Our results suggest that UHRF2 may be closely related to tumorigenesis and the development of gliomas.
Lysine Requirement of Male White Pekin Ducklings from Seven to Twenty-one Days of Age

A dose-response experiment with five lysine levels (0.65, 0.80, 0.95, 1.10, and 1.25%) was conducted to evaluate the lysine requirement of male White Pekin ducklings from 7 to 21 days of age. Two hundred and eighty, 7-day-old, male White Pekin ducklings were allocated to 5 experimental treatments, each containing 8 replicate pens with 7 birds per pen. Feed and water were provided ad libitum from 7 to 21 days of age. At 21 days of age, weight gain, feed intake, feed/gain, breast meat weight, and breast meat yield relative to body weight of ducklings from each pen were all measured. As dietary lysine level increased, weight gain, feed intake, feed/gain, breast meat weight, and breast meat yield of ducklings were all improved significantly (p<0.05). According to broken-line regression analysis, the lysine requirement of male White Pekin ducklings from 7 to 21 days of age for weight gain, feed/gain, breast meat weight, and breast meat yield was 0.84, 0.90, 0.97, and 0.98%, respectively. Considering that Pekin duck production is directed to meat production, the lysine requirement of male starter Pekin ducklings during this period is suggested to be 0.98%.
Does Country Risk Promote the Informal Economy? A Cross-National Panel Data Estimation

This article investigates whether country risk plays an important role in determining the size of the informal economy. Using annualized panel data for a sample of 131 countries and regions covering 1999–2007, and controlling for a set of control variables, we find that country risk is a robust and significant determinant of the informal economy: a 1% increase in the country risk rating (decrease in the country risk) causes a 0.1% fall in the informal economy, and political risk has the largest effect, followed by economic risk. Moreover, the estimation results provide little evidence in support of an inverted-U relationship between urbanization and the share of the informal sector, which shed new light on the urbanization-the informal economy nexus.
A New Ultra Lightweight Encryption Design for Security at Node Level

This paper proposes a new lightweight cipher VAYU. VAYU has a balanced Feistel structure. VAYU cipher supports 64 bit plaintext and 128/80 bit key length and it has a total of 31 rounds. It needs only 1290 GEs for 128 bit key length. It also results in minimal memory size as compared to all other existing lightweight ciphers. This paper discusses the security analysis of VAYU cipher design which is adequate against linear and differential cryptanalysis, Biclique attack, zero correlation attack, algebraic attack. VAYU cipher design will be best suitable for applications like IoT, smart Wireless Sensor networks. VAYU cipher uses two F-functions with substitution box, which results in a high diffusion mechanism.

BACKGROUND: Vascular intimal hyperplasia (IH) is one of the key challenges in the clinical application of smalldiameter vascular grafts. Current tissue engineering strategies focus on vascularization and antithrombotics, yet few approaches have been developed to treat IH. Here, we designed a tissue-engineered vascular scaffold with portulaca flavonoid (PTF) composition and biomimetic architecture. METHOD: By electrospinning, PTF is integrated with biodegradable poly(e-caprolactone) (PCL) into a bionic vascular scaffold. The structure and functions of the scaffolds were evaluated based on material characterization and cellular biocompatibility. Human vascular smooth muscle cells (HVSMCs) were cultured on scaffolds for up to 14 days. RESULTS: The incorporation of PTF and preparation parameters during fabrication influences the morphology of the scaffold, including fibre diameter, structure, and orientation. Compared to the PCL scaffold, the scaffolds integrated with bioactive PTF show better hydrophilicity and degradability. HVSMCs seeded on the scaffold alongside the fibres exhibit fusiform-like shapes, indicating that the scaffold can provide contact guidance for cell morphology alterations. This study demonstrates that the PCL/PTF (9.1%) scaffold inhibits the excessive proliferation of HVSMCs without causing cytotoxicity. CONCLUSION: The study provides insights into the problem of restenosis caused by IH. This engineered vascular scaffold with complex function and preparation is expected to be applied as a substitute for small-diameter vascular grafts.
Microstructure and Antibacterial Activity of Phosphonium Montmorillonites

Phosphonium montmorillonites (P-MMTs) were prepared by intercalating dodecyl tributyl phosphonium salt into sodium montmorillonite (Na-MMT) through an ion-exchange method. Microstructure and antibacterial activity of phosphonium montmorillonites were studied by FT-IR, TGA, XRD and Minimum Inhibitory Concentration (MIC), respectively. The results show that phosphonium montmorillonites exhibit higher thermal stability than conventional ammonium montmorillonites, the onset temperature of decomposition is higher than 300 $^{\circ}C$, and the basal spacing of phosphonium montmorillonites is enlarged compared to that of sodium montmorillonite. Phosphonium montmorillonites also show good antibacterial activity with the MIC against E. coli and S. aureus of 150 and 50 $mg{\cdot}L^{-1}$, respectively.
Aerodynamic measurements of across-wind loads and responses of tapered super high-rise buildings

A series of wind tunnel tests were conducted on tapered super high-rise buildings with a square cross section by applying synchronous pressure measurement technology. The effects of global strategy of chamfered modification on aerodynamic loads and wind-induced responses were investigated. Moreover, local aerodynamic strategies of opening a ventilation slot in the corner of equipment and refuge floors were carried out. Results show that the global strategy of tapered elevation increased the vortex shedding frequency, but reduced vortex shedding energy, leading to reduction of across-wind aerodynamic loads and responses. Chamfered modification suppressed the across-wind vortex shedding effect on tapered buildings. Opening the ventilation slot further suppressed the strength of vortex shedding and reduced the residual energy related to vortex shedding in aerodynamic loads of chamfered buildings. Finally, the optimized locations of local aerodynamic strategies were suggested.
