A Conversation with Bernadette Rounds Ganilau by Suzanna Layton
Susana Layton 숙명여자대학교 아세아여성문제연구소 1997 Asian Women Vol.4 No.-
Australian-based Journalism lecturer Dr Suzanna Layton talks with one of Fiji's foremost media personalities - former radio executive and newspaper publisher Bernadetee Rounds Ganilau. Fiji is perhaps the most influential nation in the Englishspeaking South Pacific, due to its relative size (population 770,000 in a region where the average is a tenth that figure), central location and wealth (only 7% of government revenue comes from foreign aid). Independent from Britain since 1970, it serves as a transportation and communication node for the subregion, and hosts a comparably large percertage of Pacific based trade, aid and non-governmental organisations.
