A New Parallel Hybrid Filter Configuration Minimizing Active Filter Size

A conventional parallel hybrid active filter has an inherent problem of large current ratings of devices used in inverter. In general, this problem has been solved by adjusting turn ratio of a matching transformer. However, making the transformer with high turn ratio may be not available for high power system due to its requirement for high voltage insulation. In this paper, a new configuration is proposed for parallel hybrid active filter. In the proposed hybrid active filter, the active filter is connected to the passive filter inductor in parallel through a matching transformer for the aim of reducing the size of inverter. Through computer simulations, we have shown the outstanding performances of the proposed topology.<br/>
An Interleaved Half-Bridge Bidirectional DC-DC Converter for Energy Storage System Applications

This paper describes a new interleaved bidirectional dc-dc converter for energy storage system applications. The proposed bidirectional dc-dc converter consists of energy storage system as input source and an interleaved half-bridge on both sides of high frequency transformer. The proposed converter can be easily extended to the multi-phase interleaved bidirectional dc-dc converter with modularity as the capacity of energy storage increases. The number of switching devices of the proposed converter is reduced by half count compared to the dual full-bridge dc-dc converter in parallel operation, and a high step-up voltage conversion is achieved with reduced transformer turn ratio and switching losses of all active switching devices are minimized through zero voltage switching without additional circuit components. The operation principle, mathematical analysis and simulation results are presented in this paper.

최근 CAD, CAM, VLSI 등과 같은 설계 관련 분야들이 데이타베이스 시스템의 새로운 응용분야로서 등장하고 있다. 이러한 설계 관련 분야들을 효과적으로 지원하기 위해서는 설계의 대상이 되는 설계 객체들을 효율적으로 관리할 수 있어야 한다. 설계 객체들은 설계 절차의 특성에 의해 계층적으로 구성되며, 설계 작업의 수행 과정에서 여러 버젼이 생성되는 특징을 가진다. 최근에 많은 연구가 진행되고 있는 객체 지향 데이타베이스 시스템에서는 설계 객체가 복합 객체로 표현된다. 본 논문에서는 객체 지향 데이타베이스 시스템에서 설계 객체를 효율적으로 관리할 수 있는 버젼 관리 기법을 제시한다. 이 기법은 복합 객체에 대한 버젼을 효과적으로 관리하기 위한 버젼 전파 기법, 버젼 전파로 인해 발생할 수 있는 버젼 전파 모호성을 해결하는 방법, 버젼 전파로 인해 생성되고 저장되는 버젼들의 수를 최소화하기 위한 지연 버젼 전파 기법으로 이루어진다. In recent years design applications such as CAD, CAM, and VLSI have been introduced as new database applications. To support effectively these applications database systems must provide functionalities that manage efficiently design objects. There are essentially two characteristics of design objects, which impact upon the nature of the design process. First, they are hierarchically formed assemblies of component objects. Secondly, they go through phases of design giving rise to multiple versions. In object-oriented database systems that have been researched recently, design objects are represented by composite objects. This paper presents the mechanism of version management in object-oriented database systems that effectively manages design objects. The mechanism includes the version propagation mechanism to effectively manage versions of composite objects, the method to resolve the version propagation ambiguity, and the deferred version propagation mechanism to minimize the number of versions stored.
Digital Current Sharing Method for Parallel Interleaved DC–DC Converters Using Input Ripple Voltage

<P>This paper describes a new digital current sharing method for parallel interleaved dc-dc converters. The difference between sensed inductor current values can cause unequal current distribution in the parallel dc-dc converters even though they are controlled by the same average current mode controller with a common current reference. To overcome this problem, a simple digital current sharing algorithm using input voltage ripple difference is proposed. The digital current sharing algorithm calculates the required current reference adjustment value using only the input ripple voltage difference information. No additional input current sensing circuit is required. The proposed algorithm achieves equal current distribution between phases of the parallel converters with high parameter insensitivity. For the experimental verification, a 500 W two phase interleaved synchronous buck dc-dc converter which charges a 24 V Li-ion battery is implemented.</P>
Analysis of Effects of Inductance Component in Electrodeless Lamp on Ballast Performances

Ballasts for electrodeless lamp have resonant circuit as an interface means between ballast and lamp like ballasts for fluorescent lamp. Most popular resonant filter circuit is LCC and LC-C type. Their characteristics and transfer functions with electrodeless lamp are not known well although resonant filter has an important role in both start-up and steady state. In this paper, various kinds of transfer functions for electrodeless lamp including inductance component of coupling core are given and their characteristics are analyzed with the variations of coupling inductance value.
