Optimizing Manufacturing Supplier Selection and Order Allocation Processes using Fuzzy-QFD and Goal Programming: A Case Study in Indonesian Chemical Industry

        Suhartini,Anindya Rachma Dwicahyani,Suparno,Hari Supriyanto 대한산업공학회 2020 Industrial Engineeering & Management Systems Vol.19 No.2

This empirical study aims to implement an optimal methodology of a supplier selection process by integrating Fuzzy Quality Function Deployment (FQFD) and Goal Programming (GP). We apply the method to a company engaged in chemical industry, under multi item, multi supplier, and multi period environments. Problems encountered in this study are how to select suppliers and determine the optimal order allocation in accordance with company require-ments. We use FQFD and GP to evaluate and allocate orders to suppliers. Four objectives are incorporated, including maximization of good products, on time delivery, and supplier scoring, along with minimization of material purchas-ing cost. We seek to find an optimal solution considering several constraints, such as material requirement and cost estimation, supplier and warehouse capacity, and safety stock. Our results provide insights that the most and the least important technical responses in chemical supplier selection are “supplier experience” and “response to customer or-der”, respectively. Whereas, the most important criteria are “product quality”, “product price”, and “delivery perfor-mance”, while the least important criteria are “return & repair service” and “documents”. The result also shows that the proposed method can achieve better solution compared to the past decision, in term of cost and supplier scoring

Inv estigations of W ork-Life Balance and S tress for Working Women in the Indonesian Banking Sector

        Eka Suhartini,Mahfud Nurnadjamuddin,Mapparenta,Suriyanti People&Global Business Association 2023 Global Business and Finance Review Vol.28 No.6

Purpose: Workloads have substantial impacts on the working woman's identity. The banking sector also exhibits this trend with long working hours, commuting, and potential job stress. This study investigates the possible relationships between work-family conflict, social support toward work-life balance, and job stress from Indonesian female bankers. Design/methodology/approach: This study obtains data from 197 female workers in the banking sector in I ndonesia and constructs a hypothesized path model by maximizing the covariance-based structural-equation modelling with the Lisrel 10.2 software. Findings: This study reports dynamic results as work-family conflict does not contribute to work-life balance but toward job stress. Furthermore, social support is foundational for the work-life balance but not toward stress. The partial mediating effect is also reported. Research limitations/implications: This study's predictive power can get further upgrades from a wider participant across the industry. The comparison between genders can clarify this issue's advantages and disadvantages. The social peers' positive support may remedy the work-life balance issue; thus, firms must recognize this problem at their managerial discretion. Originality/value: This study extends the neglected conjoint effects of work-family conflict and social support to work-life balance, decreasing job stress among working women. The novel finding suggests the absence of conflict in the family-office relationships, indicating that work-life balance requires an update on the office-level policy.

The Impact of Psychological Climate and Self-Resilience on Employee Performance During the COVID-19 Pandemic: An Empirical Study in Indonesia

Andriyastuti SURATMAN,Suhartini SUHARTINI,Majang PALUPI,Fereshti Nurdiana DIHAN,Muhammad Bakr MUHLISON 한국유통과학회 2021 The Journal of Asian Finance, Economics and Busine Vol.8 No.5

The study aims to investigate the impact of psychological climate, self-resilience, Organizational Citizenship Behaviour (OCB) and job stress on employee performance during Covid-19 pandemic. This paper also attempts to find out the mediating role of OCB and job stress in this context. A confirmatory survey was conducted on 316 employees of several institutions in Indonesia who worked from home during Covid-19 for a minimum period of 2 months. The research revealed that 1) PC has significant and positive influence on OCB and performance; 2) Self resilience have positive and significant influence on performance; 3) PC and self-resilience have a negative influence on job stress; 4) there are insignificant relationship between self-resilience on OCB; OCB and job stress on performance; 5) PC and self-resilience have no indirect influence on performance through OCB and job stress. The findings of this study reveal that organizations expected to have strategic approach in order to handle Covid-19 pandemic in different work patterns that are required to carry out routine office tasks from home, including handling stress as a fast adaptation for both employees and organizations that have a routine task from home.
