The northward shift of the cultivation region of winter barley has been considered because of consecutive warm winters from the middle of 1980's. There was 1.02℃ rise in mean air temperature during winter barley cropping season from 1975 to 1998. During this period, the maximum air temperature affected the mean air temperature rise rather than the minimum air temperature. The amount of mean precipitation was 513.3mm during winter barley cropping season from 1975 to 1998 and was least in 1992. Sunshine hours has increased little by little in the all regions except rural regions. The air temperature during winter barley cropping season from 1987 to 1999 in which the winter was warm was higher than the normal air temperature(1961∼1990). On the other hand, the air temperature during winter barley cropping season from 1974 through 1986 was similar to the normal air temperature. The amount of mean precipitation during winter barley cropping season from 1987 through 1999 was similar to the normal precipitation except April. During this period, the amount of mean precipitation of April was lower by 26mm than the normal year(1961∼1990). Sunshine hours during winter barley cropping season from 1987 to 1999 decreased generally in comparison with a normal year. Considering the air temperature rise during wintering from 1987 to 1998, it might be possible to extend the cropping area of winter barley northward.

The purpose of this study is to analyze the design preference according to the body consciousness for 20∼26 years old male. The consciousness of body size and the satisfaction with body proportion were investigated. And the relationship between the body consciousness and the design preference was analyzed. Most subjects thought their body size was proper generally and their body proportion was proper or a little unsatisfied. The subjects preferred 'Round neckline', 'loose sleeve', and 'loose and long tops'. They didn't like the style that tops are under pants on the waist. They also preferred 'loose and long pants'. When the subjects chose clothing design, especially 'V-neckline tops' and 'short pants', they considered their height. They also considered their girth size and it meant they thought much of looseness. There was not any preference in clothing design according to the consciousness of height. The most significant relationships between the size consciousness and the preference in design was found in tops more than pants. The higher satisfaction with their body proportion was connected with the higher preference in some design. From all these results, it was found that the preference of clothing design could vary according to the consciousness of body size. The results from this study could give the important tips to improve the satisfaction with the clothing for each person.

The effects of estradiol-17β or progesterone on the contractility of neurotransmitters on pig oviductal isthmic smooth muscle were investigated. The motility of the isolated smooth muscle was recorded by using physiological recording system. The results were summarized as follows : 1. The contractility induced by histamine or prostaglandin F2α was depressed by the pretreatment of estradiol-17β but was not by the preteatment of progesterone in follicular or luteal stage. 2. The contractility induced by acetylcholine was depressed un follicular stage but excited in luteal stage by the pretreatment of estradiol-17β or progesterone. 3. The contractility induced by norepinephrine was depressed by the pretreatment of progesterone in follicular stage but was excited by the pretreatment estradiol-17β in luteal stage.

<P>The appropriate porosity and pore size of barrier membranes were associated with the transportation of biomolecules required for new bone formation and angiogenesis. In this study, we fabricated three-dimensional (3D)-printed resorbable polycaprolactone (PCL) membranes with different porosities (30%, 50%, and 70%) to evaluate the effective pore size for guided bone regeneration (GBR) membranes. To analyze mechanical properties and cytocompatibility, PCL membranes prepared using extrusion-based 3D printing technology were compared in dry and wet conditions and tested in vitro. The proliferation rates and pattern of fibroblasts and preosteoblasts on PCL membranes with different porosities were determined using a cell counting kit-8 assay and scanning electron microscopy. PCL membrane porosity did not affect cell proliferation, but osteogenic differentiation and mechanical properties were increased with lower porosity (30%) on day 14 (p < 0.001). Similar results were found in an in vivo calvarial defect model; new bone formation was significantly higher in PCL membranes with lower porosity (p < 0.001). These results indicate that 3D-printed PCL with 30% porosity (130 mu m pore size) is an excellent pore size for GBR membranes.</P>
Electroencephalography for Early Detection of Alzheimer’s Disease in Subjective Cognitive Decline

Background and Purpose: Early detection of subjective cognitive decline (SCD) due to Alzheimer’s disease (AD) is important for clinical research and effective prevention and management. This study examined if quantitative electroencephalography (qEEG) could be used for early detection of AD in SCD. Methods: Participants with SCD from 6 dementia clinics in Korea were enrolled. 18F-florbetaben brain amyloid positron emission tomography (PET) was conducted for all the participants. qEEG was performed to measure power spectrum and source cortical activity. Results: The present study included 95 participants aged over 65 years, including 26 amyloid PET (+) and 69 amyloid PET (−). In participants with amyloid PET (+), relative power at delta band was higher in frontal (p=0.025), parietal (p=0.005), and occipital (p=0.022) areas even after adjusting for age, sex, and education. Source activities of alpha 1 band were significantly decreased in the bilateral fusiform and inferior temporal areas, whereas those of delta band were increased in the bilateral cuneus, pericalcarine, lingual, lateral occipital, precuneus, posterior cingulate, and isthmus areas. There were increased connections between bilateral precuneus areas but decreased connections between left rostral middle frontal area and bilateral frontal poles at delta band in participants with amyloid PET (+) showed. At alpha 1 band, there were decreased connections between bilateral entorhinal areas after adjusting for covariates. Conclusions: SCD participants with amyloid PET (+) showed increased delta and decreased alpha 1 activity. qEEG is a potential means for predicting amyloid pathology in SCD. Further longitudinal studies are needed to confirm these findings.

It is imperative to find environment-friendly coatings as an alternative to the currently used hexavalent chromate conversion coatings for the purpose of improving the anti-corrosion properties of aluminum alloys. Hence, in this study, the corrosion properties of a trivalent chromate conversion coating solution are analyzed and measured. Because of the presence of multiple components in trivalent chromate conversion coating solutions, it is difficult to control plating, attributed to their mutual organic relationship. It is of significance to determine the concentrations of the components present in these coatings; hence, qualitative and quantitative analysis is required. The coating solution contained not only an environment-friendly component chromium(III), but also zirconium, fluorine, sulfur, and potassium, in the coating film. These metals are confirmed to produce a film with improved corrosion resistance to form a thin layer. The excellent corrosion resistance for the trivalent chromate solution is attributed to various inorganic and organic additives.
